Lol, Brad regularly listens to and enjoys post-rock songs that exceed 25 minutes, so song length isn't the issue here. You get everything you are going to hear in a Nickelback song in the first 90 seconds. There is very rarely any interesting lyrical or musical development in the following three minutes. Add on the fact that they waffle between two or three predictable and stale song formulas through an album and it should be quite clear why listening to Nickelback is a tedious endeavor for a lot of people.

You can uplift old music without shitting on new music. I do agree that Nickelback is definitely overhated, but they aren't exactly known for their artistic range. Most of their songs have a very heavy post-grunge sound, that's undeniable.
It’s so funny watching people struggle with admitting they like something. Been in love with these guys since 2000. Have met all of them numerous times. Including my disabled daughter. They are beautiful, kind and generous people. A friend of mine flew from Europe and her luggage was lost. Along with her ticket. The whole reason she had flown to America. She bumped into the guitar player walking his dog outside the hotel. They started talking. He found out what happened. She had a ticket. And backstage pass waiting for her at will call. 🥹. They do this all the time. Numerous examples from over the years. Not to mention. Their music. They joke about themselves harder than anyone else. Never have they taken themselves serious.
I unironically enjoy some nickleback songs ngl. Yeah all their shit sounds the same, so that's why I only pick like one or two songs and never dig any deeper into their discography
