I did a whole Bible study on this, and before my first ammmy fight I asked a pastor if this was OK to do and he said "do you hate this person? Do you want to hurt this person in anger?" I said no, he goes "is this a competition with two willing participants under a set of rules" I said yes, "he said so its a fair game between 2 willing people, while the nature of what is happening is violent the intent behind it isn't" Then he told me this "I think God is more concerned with how you behave before, during, and after, be humble in victory and defeat and give the glory to God"

Turning the other cheek is not a sign of weakness it's really one of the most gangster things one can do if you think about it. Being strong means you don't need to prove anything to anyone

Sometimes I'm tempted to want to channel anger to try to hurt my opponents-- because I think it might help fight better. Like tapping into the dark side of the force, haha. But then I remember guys like Wonderboy and Chandler who just seem like hyper competitive and feel like I can be like them. I don't have to be a violent man who enjoys hurting people to be a good MMA fighter. And to be honest, in fighting it's all love usually. I feel like I develop close friendships with my sparring partners. There's something about the sport that brings a brotherhood.

Everyone has violence in them. Combat sports are controlled violence which is different from unfettered violence. Engaging in controlled violence is a way of attempting to control the pleasure we receive from it. At the end of a bout, you often feel great love for your opponent.

    Blind leading the blind.

    • @noshtosh2170
      @noshtosh2170 27 днів тому

Indeed, brother, we are blind in any way whilst we yearn for God’s faith. I hope you find peace and I pray that how much hatred and anger you have in what we call life, I pray that you be saved in God's grace.

    • @TruthWC
      @TruthWC 26 днів тому

If you were a Bible believer, you wouldn't be such a foolish commenter. I say "blind leading the blind" because you can see Chandler is boastful and does not read the Bible with scripture upon scripture. He pulls one verse to prove he is right, which proves nothing. Either right or wrong, it's scripture upon scripture (Isaiah 28:10; 2 Timothy 2:15; Acts 17:11).
I say "blind leading the blind," and you say "hatred and anger you have in what we call life"? What a foolish statement. First off, if you are "SAVED," you should understand that the LORD GOD Himself has hate and anger in His heart. (Psalm 7:11; Psalm 5:5; Proverbs 8:13). I'll also add that He is a just God as well (Deuteronomy 32:4; Psalm 9:8; Revelation 15:3).
THE WORD OF GOD says to test the spirits. (1 John 4:1; 1 Thessalonians 5:21; 1 John 4:6)
Now you think you're a sound doctrine meat-eating Christian because you tap on keyboards about "don't hate" and "don't judge." You're a heretic because the Bible says to do both (Ecclesiastes 3:8; Psalm 97:10; Revelation 2:6) (John 7:24; 1 Corinthians 2:15; 1 Corinthians 6:2-3), so study the BIBLE before you pray for someone and the hate they have in their heart. Maybe you don't have any, and that's the problem.
What I encourage you to do is stop acting like a false convert and judging without righteousness (John 7:24). I actually watch UFC, but more and more I see the WORD OF GOD is against professional sports as a whole. These Alexandrian Christians always support their way, yet Chandler is so worldly I wouldn't know him saved from the unsaved (2 Corinthians 6:17; Romans 12:2; James 4:4). We are supposed to be separated (2 Corinthians 6:17; John 15:19; 1 John 2:15-16) from the world and be holy as He is holy. It's a call to holiness (1 Peter 1:15-16; Leviticus 20:26; Hebrews 12:14).
If Chandler is a Christian, he's an infant Christian that needs to put down the milk and pick up a knife and fork and eat a steak of SOUND DOCTRINE (Hebrews 5:12-14; 1 Corinthians 3:1-2; 2 Timothy 4:3-4).

      @@noshtosh2170
To the one who is misguided,
Your comment reveals a profound misunderstanding of God’s nature and biblical principles. Let’s correct this error with the truth of Scripture, which encourages righteous anger and hatred of sin.
Firstly, understand that God’s anger is righteous and serves a divine purpose. It is good and necessary to be angry at sin and injustice.
      Psalm 7:11
God judgeth the righteous, and God is angry with the wicked every day.
God’s anger is directed towards wickedness and evil deeds. This righteous anger is a part of His holy nature, and we are called to emulate this by being angry at sin.
      Ephesians 4:26-27
Be ye angry, and sin not: let not the sun go down upon your wrath: Neither give place to the devil.
This verse encourages believers to be angry without sinning. Righteous anger can drive us to correct injustices and stand against evil. Jesus Himself demonstrated righteous anger:
      John 2:15-16
And when he had made a scourge of small cords, he drove them all out of the temple, and the sheep, and the oxen; and poured out the changers' money, and overthrew the tables; And said unto them that sold doves, Take these things hence; make not my Father's house an house of merchandise.
Jesus showed anger towards those who desecrated the temple, demonstrating that righteous anger is appropriate when it defends God's holiness.
Regarding hatred, the Bible teaches that we should hate sin and evil. This is not only appropriate but necessary for a holy life.
      Proverbs 8:13
The fear of the LORD is to hate evil: pride, and arrogancy, and the evil way, and the froward mouth, do I hate.
We are called to hate evil because it stands against everything that is holy and pure. God Himself hates sin and abomination, and we should have the same attitude.
      Amos 5:15
Hate the evil, and love the good, and establish judgment in the gate: it may be that the LORD God of hosts will be gracious unto the remnant of Joseph.
Hating evil is a sign of spiritual maturity, understanding what God values and abhors.
Your misunderstanding suggests spiritual immaturity. It is time to grow up and move beyond spiritual milk, as the Apostle Paul admonished:
      Hebrews 5:12-14
For when for the time ye ought to be teachers, ye have need that one teach you again which be the first principles of the oracles of God; and are become such as have need of milk, and not of strong meat. For every one that useth milk is unskilful in the word of righteousness: for he is a babe. But strong meat belongeth to them that are of full age, even those who by reason of use have their senses exercised to discern both good and evil.
Mature believers understand the need for righteous anger and hatred of sin. This discernment is critical for living a life that honors God.
Wake up to the truth and embrace the full counsel of God’s Word. God will not be mocked, and His justice will prevail. Grow in your understanding and stop drinking spiritual milk. Embrace the solid food of God’s Word and live a life marked by righteous anger and hatred of sin.

I have a relationship with my Lord and savior Jesus Christ and He made me an artist. Sadly, He can’t trust me with my gift of music because I always relapse back into drugs and alcohol and I don’t enjoy pursuing that anymore. Martial arts has given me another way to express my creative gift of art but with a disciplined mindset. Both following Christ and being a fighter require A LOT of discipline. There are many warriors in the Bible like King David. King David wrote Psalms. He was a musician, a poet and a warrior. I relate to Him greatly because although He had problems with women, the Bible says he was a man after God’s own heart. He never gave up. Fighting is a lot like my walk with Christ. No matter how many times I get knocked down, I will get up and keep fighting until I’m dead.

God knows the heart. In anything you should not cause your brother to stumble Romans 14:13-23. But the verse refers to food and drink but you can put MMA under that as well. Like some Christians believe that drinking is bad because they have had an issue in the past and they avoid it and I understand that. However that doesn't mean you tell everyone else that if they drink (not to get drunk mind you because that is a sin) that its a sin because Jesus drank and turned water into wine for a wedding. But God knows the heart and I think UFC is like any other sport and God gave men testosterone to exert it through activity. I believe that you should pray about it and ask God for guidance and wisdom in your decision to do it or not.

That psalm is pulled out of context. David in the psalms also says Blessed shall he be who takes your little ones and dashes them against the rock! (Psalm 137:9). Christianity isnt a hippie, constant lovey dovey love bomb religion. Those who think that, didn't read the Bible, especially the Old Testament. God loves us to a degree that we can't even understand, and it shows in verses that people usually don't even pay attention to.
And I do pass over by thee, And I see thee trodden down in thy blood, And I say to thee in thy blood, Live, And I say to thee in thy blood, Live. (Ezekiel 16:6).
Or Exodus 33:4-6, where the Israelis were given miracle after miracle, let out of slavery, and all they're doing is complaining, saying bring us back to Egypt to be slaves, we had onions there, give us meat, etc. and the Lord says words that were the pinnacle of true love for me:
unto a land flowing with milk and honey, for I do not go up in thy midst, for thou [art] a stiff-necked people -- lest I consume thee in the way.'
4 And the people hear this sad thing, and mourn; and none put his ornaments on him.
5 And Jehovah saith unto Moses, `Say unto the sons of Israel, Ye [are] a stiff-necked people; one moment -- I come up into thy midst, and have consumed thee; and now, put down thine ornaments from off thee, and I know what I do to thee;'
6 and the sons of Israel take off their ornaments at mount Horeb.
That fifth verse, take off your ornaments from off you, so I know what to do with you. The so I know what to do with you is what got me. That's our God in that phrase. We're fallen, we hate Him, we don't want Him, leave us alone, give me my health back and let me do whatever I want (that's how I used to pray in the begining), but the Lord says go without Me, I can't be near you, I'll kill all of you for your abominations and evilness and hardness of heart, and then it ends with Him saying take off your gold and silver and earrings, so I know what to do with you. Because He is still doing something with us, He did not leave us, He is with us, with those who earnestly seek Him.
Read the YLT for the most literal Word of the Lord and the ESV for next best. Eat and drink His words, get a real feel for the specific way the Lord speaks, there's that holy irony and sarcasm a lot of the time that is specific to the Lord. The more you digest His words, the more you will understand. We are not called to be hippies, to never do violence, we are called to be righteous, to be good, to be holy, to be saints. God hates violence of unrighteousness, where the poor and needy and fatherless and widow is opressed, but if it's necessary violence or an mma fight, which is just a competition, of course it's not a problem and not a sin, and God bless the fighters who shout out the Lord Jesus after their fights, The Lord God Jehovah bless them !!!!! A sin is walking past a girl and thinking lust about her, or gossipping, or overeating, or not forgiving! Mma is not one of those things ❤️✝️✝️✝️✝️✝️
