Hey craig, I've had 2 questions.
1: Do you have a favourite jumbo coin routine you do and if so, do you have a video somewhere to learn that routine?
2: What to do if you still have issues coming up with routine sets? Because although I've seen all your vids, I somehow am too critical to myself and nothing is truly perfect to put into one routine.
Thanks again for everything you do!!!

    Hey Craig,
Thank you for answering my question last week my 2 questions for this week are as follows:
    1. Going off of a question asked last week about who your mount rushmore of coin magic would be, I would like to ask who would your mount rushmore of tv magicians be?.
    2. The four of a kind production you showed on one of the 5x5 no sleight specials you said there was also a way to make the double 4 of a kinds match in suits & I was wondering how you would make the matching suit revelation happen?. (for reference the 5x5 was released on the 10th of june)
As always any help is greatly appreciated.
P.S The dartboard & mirage deck seems like it would totally work after I read up on the mirage deck, cheers Craig.

    Hi Craig,
Thank you so much for answering my questions as always!
The set list for the stage show (the title of the show is Perseverance) I mentioned on the last Q&A is:
    1. Interactive Prediction (where the audience all make a series of moves and mathematically end up in the same place - hope I explained that well enough)
    2. Tossed out Deck using the Infinity Deck
    3. Thumb Tie
    4. Torn Card Match (where all the audience tear cards, place on half in their pocket and then after throwing some away, end up with the matching piece to in their pocket - once again, I hope I explained that well enough)
    5. Rising Card
    6. Rubik's Cube Routine (Venom Cube, Toss up Solve, The Solution, Cube in Bottle)
    7. Where everyone interlocks their fingers and only the magician can untwist their arms
    8. Thought of Card in Pocket that Christian Grace taught at the YMC
    Second Half:
    1. Earth Shoes
    2. PR3DICTION
    3. Fiber Optics
    4. Celebrity Prediction (using a baby gag)
    5. The Movie by Mario Daniel
    6. Silk to Egg
    7. Prediction (in an envelope that's been in view since the start and mentioned throughout the show)
    8. Snowstorm
    Also another question:
When doing Chicago opener, what is the best way to make it look natural, as it doesn't make sense to spread and have them choose a card the first time, and riffle force a card the second time?
    Thanks as always

Craig, first thank you for what you do, you have inspired me to get deeper into magic again and I love the effects that you have put out the last few years, I have purchased most of them now. my Question is: My interests vary so much in the field that it is difficult for me to focus long enough on one to really do it well. Any Suggestions?

Hi Craig! Two questions for you.
First, how do you begin an adult parlor show? I don't mean your opening trick. I mean literally the first thing you say and do after walking on stage, before your first trick, sort of like a warm up in a kid's show.
Second, I loved the show breakdown for Nemed's show recently. I noticed at the conclusion of his borrowed ring to gumball machine routine, the spectator decided to have some fun by momentarily pretending the ring wasn't hers. I close all my shows with a ring-to-impossible location routine, too, and about 10% of the time they do this same thing. The problem is just that it stomps on the pacing and climax of the big moment, even though I know the spectator is just trying to have fun. How would you go about preparing for this type of situation?
    Thanks!

And we've had Dan Harlan with Sarah Ella over here for a lecture on Monday.
And what an amazing lecture was that also Sarah her memory work.
    Just wanted to say that!
    But now my questions!
    1.
I never did rope magic and want to learn some routines
    What are the best places?
    I know projects as :
Richard Sanders - Fiber Optics Extended
    Dan Harlan - The Awakening
Are these the best options ?

I used to be friends with Justin Miller when he was in his early 20's, he was really impressive even then. He was helpful to me as I was getting a local talent agency up to speed, introducing me to most of the local magicians and going to magic-fest, etc. I kind of forgot about him, then it was cool to see him getting well known as a magic creator years later.

    Close up tricks involving colour?
    With tricks as :
Color psychology and psycolorgy there are a lot of tricks involving colour.
I want some smaller tricks involving colour to put in my pockets.
Right now i have 2 sets of the 6 coloured cards of cube 52 in a packet wallet for an esp matching routine involvinf colour.
Do you know some more tricks/routines
    3.
    Crazy question maybe :
With the upcoming svengali project this year
Can you and Alakazam consider an add-on or a special version involving a blank svengali deck?
I know for sure you can slay with that and i also know they need to be made specificly for this and it won't be a 10 pound svengali deck.
    Please consider it!
    You rock Craig!
Thank you for everything you do!
Hope you have a good week!
But if The Netherlands play England.... I hope the players (Of England) are coming home.
    Kind regards,
    Andy

Hi Craig! Hope you are have an amazing week! After a week or so of performing magic for friends and strangers, I've been offered my first paid gig at a wedding. I'm super excited at this because wedding magic is almost unheard of where I live. This seems like a great opportunity to become THE wedding magician of my area, build my brand, and make connections. This does bring me to a question. As a working magician, would you say it is worth it to go professional? It seems too good to be true to perform my hobby and passion for a living, and I fear there may be some setbacks I may be overlooking. That being said, what do you think are the pros and cons of turning pro and is it worth it?
Second question. Any sneak peaks you can give for the next season of the Matt-umentary? On the magic podcast a while ago you mentioned possibly dropping Matt off at a location and he could only return home using magic. Is that something possibly in the next season?

Hello craig, always appreciate when you take the time to answer our questions. Magic is my hobby, and I have always mostly performed to family and friends. However, I want to gain experience perform in the real world. Where should I start?

Regarding a question last week from a guy from The Netherlands
about magic at that specific competition.
I think i know what competition he means (It's from Sven)
And the people can walk arround and give their coin to a performer they really like
the people are the judge and the one with the most coins win.
I think that changes the approach to the competition a lot because now people need to like you
instead of performing very technical moves.

Hello craig what is the vanishing deck trick called were you put the deck(shell thing) into the Frame and than the deck turns into like an omni block glass deck. I think it was on a review show but i can not find it anymore. In the frame there was also a hole that you
had to cover up with your thump if that helps

Probably a hard question to answer in the abstract, but...: What can you do to make a trick more commercial? I had a major retailer turn down a submission as they didn't think it would sell well for them. My submission video didn't include a live performance and was probably too long, so a better video would obviously be a must, but once a trick is established, can you tune some of the things around the trick to make it more commercially appealing?

I do magic purely as a hobby for family and friends, but I’d love to be able to pick up a deck of cards and be able to do magic that is more difficult than gaffed decks. Do you have a list of routines you would work through in order that teach sleights and build into skills I could then transfer, I always feel so clumsy and what I’m doing is obvious when trying any sleights, also is this something I’d learn if I was a Netrix member ?

Hey Craig, just a quick question. I was watching through Gatekeeper, and you reference a specific handling in the project near the end at around the 35min mark (If you watch the tutorial at 35min you'll know which section I'm referring. Didn't want to put it out in a public forum). I was watching through the tutorial and couldn't find the section you were referencing. Just wondering if I completely missed it? Thanks a bunch, sorry to reference a marketed product in a public forum, but wasn't sure how better to reach out for you to see.

I was just reading the Alex Stone book “Fooling Houdini” in it there is a part where he talks of using Finger Fitness to help with his magic ? I’m a bit older& have smaller sized hands. I also, unfortunately, am not great with palming coins or getting a good pinky or thumb count. Do you think the Finger Fitness thing would help or is it one of those things that should have been done earlier in life?? Thanks for all your help

Also, on infinity.... If you do an envelope prediction to start. Do you remove the force packet containing that force from the envelope prediction? I do. Is there a way to force and predict a "non force" card that seems just as fair as the "tell me when to stop?" Or i have another idea. Can I email the idea or dm somewhere? My brain is on fire...

I was speaking to an adult magician the other day and he said he very rarely learns a new trick because he thinks you only need max 10 -15 tricks when working. I can see why he thinks this but I completely disagree and think learning and experimenting new things should always be done and everyone should find it fun. What do you think about what he said because I’m starting to realise that most adult magicians actually don’t enjoy it and just do it for the money hence they don’t practice while kids tend to be more enthusiastic about always learning.

    • @TheAmazingSpaghetti
      @TheAmazingSpaghetti 2 місяці тому

Many of us enjoy AND do it for the money. But real gigs get very difficult sometimes due to rude people, difficult performing conditions, being tired, being in a bad mood that day etc. A lot of pro magicians do the same material all the time, because we like to do what works best for us, when doing new stuff sometimes it gets stressful, or it takes a while to develop it into A material and we don't like doing less than our best, we get busy, tired, focus on life and family, etc. And as long as the audience likes our tricks, then we are usually satisfied.
