It's ironic that we enthusiasts who wash and protect our vehicles frequently obsess over "durability" considering most of us a reapplying protection every time we wash and dry. I think it's left over from the days when protection meant applying a labor intensive wax. The reality today is most products today, aside from coatings, are spray and wipe and can be applied easily or maybe its because durability is more measurable than gloss.
really important point I agree. Im the same sometimes. like after washing you want to put something down, and the sort of water base spray sealaings seem to be taking over from traditional detail sprays or detail sprays are becoming more like the spray sealants.. but yer we want something to use with our daily wash I think, its like the icing on the cake after cleaning.
Totally agree. I myself find it's car dependent, on my pride and joy I do not care for durability, gloss finish is my main concern as its cleaned on each outing and then packed away. On my daily however totally different story, I want Somthing that I can put on and forget about for a few months
@No Name I like to clean the 140 at least once every 2 weeks. the golf can go months. problem for me is since doing the channel the time when I would just clean the car is now time I use to film stuff.. so my cars get sort of maintained worse than before I had the channel. I dont do anything special with them really. the golf is a lost cause but perfect that way. the m140 I just try and enjoy washing it as much as you can. its been pretty dirty all winter. like the stuff in the footwells and dust etc. its due a proper like clean and valet. most peeps watching the channel will keep cleaner cars than me.
@No Name a not so fanatical enthusiast , obviously peering in when you view the channel its just looks like I am constantly going on about all this stuff because its all you see. but the channel is just one part of my life that I put a fair amount of grunt into because I enjoy it. its grown now to a size beyond what it merrits where its like worth me putting more into it but its less glamourous doing this stuff than it looks. the priorty right now is to have some fun with the channel and get out there a bit more on the road with it this year, that keep me hungry as well.
My daily driver isn't my concern for durability, its all the other cars that I have to maintain that I wished I had all the time and product in the world to take care of and usually don't. yet maybe its just me being lazy, everyone has their own needs.
I love Beadmaker. Gives the best gloss and slickness. I applied a base coat on a dry car, then apply it every week after a wash as a drying aid. Perfect!
Can't believe you've not hit 100k subs yet. Out of all these type of product review channels, your by far the best and most interesting channel. As always John, your the Best.
Dang the boy can really sing a tune, good job. Nice work with the Beadmaker as a topper. I apply it after every wash so have no issues and stays slick and shines amazing.
I got some Beadmaker as soon as it was available in the U.K. early Dec 2018. I have had it on my daily driver ever since so have lived with it for a while now. I wash every week or 2 weeks and apply every other wash or so. It has been beading better than I initially thought and as I top up often longevity has been irrelevant. Yes it’s very slick initially but I’m overly bothered by that as you don’t feel that by the next wash but what I’m extremely happy with is the way the car looks. This stuff leaves an amazing gloss which takes me by surprise sometimes as I walk to the car in the supermarket car park etc. It’s like a show wax but with a little more durability. I think the gloss increases slightly after a couple of top ups but I might be imagining that. I like it which is just a well as I have 2 bottles of it plus a gallon!
cheers chris, yer I remember filling up in the petrol station not so long after applying this and the car was looking damn good (always looks decent under like the canopy lights) but it was looking really glossy for sure.
@@ForensicDetailing Not sure if you've hear interviews with the guy at P&S who invented it, and the guys at the Rag Company, but the experience you both describe was their experience and was the main reason it made it to market.P&S's main business is chemicals for automatic car washes, not the detailing market.
Gave my T6 a really good covering of this and then drove 1600 miles to Spain. After five days and encountering every type of weather conceivable, rain, snow, hail/ice storm, lots and lots of road salt then hot and dry temps above 20c it was still beading when I washed it on arrival. Topped up as a drying agent and it looks stunning again, this really is an amazing product.
I use it on my truck and it looks great. Now after you apply it for the first time step away from your car for about an hour then look at it again. I thought they were crazy but it seems to look much more glossy that before. Also don't get it wet for a few hours to let it "cure". I've been using it as a drying aid ever since and no buildup problems.
I use bead maker in Canada and winter here is brutal from snow to rain to ice storms to slush etc and bead maker works well , I did a heavy coat first application then once a month I use it as a drying aid and its doing a great job ..I haven't let it go over a month so I have no conclusion on its durability over time but a little bit of bead maker as a drying aid once a month keeps it hydrofobic and slick and glossy and easy to wash at all times , cheers
Exactly, After a wash I like to put something extra to give it a pop and this works well. I find that that the car is easier to wash the paint is smoother and my wash mitt glides down the panels.
Bead Maker is a cracking product! I can understand the issue with the durability, but the level of gloss & slickness is what you want on your car after your hard work maintaining it ! This out ways the issue of durability for me & to be honest I always use some form of QD after every wash which is usually every other week or even more if the cars ditched ! So I’d rather have my paint pop after every wash ! I’m not sure how many people use a product and leave it for how long it’s supposed to last until re-applying another layer !? I think it gets better after curing as well ! Great channel look forward to every vid !
Okay, so I couldn't wait! A bottle of Beadmaker arrived in the post this morning and I applied it to a couple of pannels over freshly applied Autoglym Ultra High Def . Left it 4 hours and couldn't believe the gloss on my return. Just need to find someone who supplies it in gallon containers. Keep up the good work!
I apply it the first time as you have, then use it as a spray on drying aid with each wash. The slickness translates when washing and it is quite noticeable. Honestly, the product works very similarly to other products available from known detail product companies. The combination of the price, the smell, and how good the car actually looks once used is what beats the competing products when you add those 3 things together, IMO.
I washed & waxed each wash for my daily driver when I fist bought it in 2020.. Then I've been applying BM & been using as an drying aid after each wash. Now I'm applying BM every 3-4 days since I do a rinseless wash with O&R to save time & not used a detailer spray. Now I only wash my car with soap/foam 1-2 times a month. It's a daily driver & its exposed to the outdoor elements 24/7 (I have no garage). My question is, when its a good time to wax the car in my situation? Could I get away just using BM? My car seems to be clean often & the shine/sickness is always there. Thanks much.
I have just ordered some of this stuff after watching all your videos on it. I have a 330d which u got ceramic coated a couple of months ago and this is just the ticket to onto that coating. I am washing my car maybe once every two weeks and like to put something down just to bring out the gloss. I'm not worried that it won't last for months as I am happy to apply often if its this easy to go on.
Fantastic review! I don't use it or love it for "Protection". The shine and gloss hooked me. It's not earth moving but it's certainly noticeable compared to so many other products I've tried. For me.. it's a great topper. I wash twice a week (usually) and apply after each wash. Again...great review thank you!
Been running this product for a year now. Couple things. Application works best and lasts longest if sprayed on panel, not heavy, then leveled with a damp mf followed by a buff with a KLIN zero towel. Will gain you about an extra month if performance and slickness because you're leaving more product on the panel. Have a video on my channel about it. It doesn't repel dirt at all but does make removing dirt with a light wash very easy. When used as a drying aide it will not last as long. It will ruin your towels eventually if you wipe it off with a dry towel. In summer you will get little orange spots in the bottle, it won't hurt anything. Do not apply in direct sunlight! It'll streak very badly.
I've got the small bottle waiting in the wings. My car has CSL (no exo), and C2V3. This has been a very wet winter here and I don't feel like using it just yet. I'll have to give it a go this spring and see how it affects the coating or cleaning properties. Great vid as always. Very talented singing and playing!
I have been applying beadmaker at least once a week for the last 2 months. Haven't noticed any ill effects over CQUK. Did a heavy coating a while back and use it as a drying aid. It's not an earth shattering product but it does leave a really nice gloss to it. For the price, I use it as a drying aid with a side benefit of gloss. Hard to beat the price when you are taking gallon size. Only thing that might be better for the money would be turtle wax ice spray wax.
JD - thank you thank you thank you...I have watched you detailing channel for about a year now (I am just a hobbyist on my own cars). I have listened to this cool music in the background the whole time...never knowing it was you! Now I have good detailing advice AND your music channel for great music.
Thank you for this honest review! I plan to use this on my car and I don't mind having to top up every couple weeks. Not only will I maintain the shine but it will feel like I'm taking good care of the car.
Yeah I've been using Beadmaker for a couple months now and I'm blown away with it. Now its winter here in the midwest but down in the garage, when I've applied it, it's been in the upper 40's and I've had no problem applying/removing it, can't wait to start using this more on a regular basis because the looks and feel initially are great but after it cures...LOOK OUT! My initial application was heavy, while the car was wet and I just did it this way. Then, when the car was dry, I applied a 2nd coat. I did this because I wanted to use the product so bad and really got into the application! I used an entire 16 oz bottle but because of the cheap price it didn't matter, I ordered a gallon next! Now John, per your review of several products a short time ago, I bought some Sonax Brillant Shine Detailer and decided to do a little experiment. I mixed Beadmaker and BSD together at a 1:1 ratio, 2 coats over 2 days while the car was parked down in the garage. Then I went 2 weeks w/o washing the car and we had a fair amount of snow, lots of salt and then a polar votex (left the car down in the garage for that one) but when I washed it I was left shaking my head once again! I did a pre-wash using my IK Foam 9 and adding 2 oz of AutoBrite Magifoam (per your review again), I used the entire 1.3 gallons too and let it sit. When I rinsed off with the Worx hydroshot the beading was insane and I contribute this to BSD. I then did a 2BM wash with Gyeon Bathe and then the car was VERY clean. I will say the car looked VERY clean after the initial pre-wash but I wasn't taking any chances, ofcoarse. I've learned and tried many products from this channel, like what I mentioned and also Bilt-Hamber auto-wash too (awesome) and I just wanna say thanks John.
that bath+ give crazy water behaviour really is a clever product. hey great stuff klasse thanks I need to try the BM BSD combo just to see :) love your enthusiam for this stuff appreciate the good info.
@@ForensicDetailing thanks John but I used regular Bathe, not plus but have in the past. Now that I think of it I used 1.5 ounces of Bathe and then .5 ounce of Bathe essence. When i pumped the Essence into the measure cup with Bathe in it you could see these spheres the Essence made, definately something in there! Hope to see your review of what I call "Brillant Maker"🇺🇸
Hi Jon, washed my car with autoglym polar blast, autoglym hd shampoo, autoglym polish, autoglym uhd wax, then beadmaker over the top, wow looks amazing, can't believe how easy the beadmaker is to apply, will be interesting to see how long the shine lasts but really impressed so far.
Thanks Jon - I used Sonax BSD for the first time this weekend and although not as easy to use as other QDs I’m really pleased with the results (I usually use and love Megs FF) - I was in two minds after your resent shootout between BSD and BM as an alternative to Megs FF - I’m tempted to try BM, but having three toppers seems somewhat excessive ! 🙂
I’ve just used bead maker and wow the shin and smooth ness I got was amazing I keep my cars clean and waxed all the time and I was truly supprised on the shin I got from it and the ease of use to get the smooth feel and shin amazing stuff in my book I’ll see over time on what it does to the paint
I use it after every wash, but just spritz a bit on the towel and then again spritz lightly on the paint. I’ve done two of my cars and used about an eighth of a bottle. The slickness is amazing, but not convinced about the long term durability. I just use it as a maintenance tool.
Nice video and good music . Ordered a bottle of this , good to see it finally available in the UK. Wanted to try it after seeing it on Pan the organizers channel also.
Applied to the M2 first time yesterday. Glad I bought the multi litre package as got through 850ml or so of product on first application. I used it as a drying aid before putting the full coat on and it worked very well doing that but even at lower concentrations showed gloss. I think for top up not much would be needed at all. The MF towel ends up saturated and was wondering if much smaller amounts of bead maker would still cost the care adequately?
@@richlee509 don't use it any more nice effect but builds static or attracts dust somehow. Only lasts about four weeks also. Better off using sio2 wet rinse type of product IMO. The slickness and candy effect of beadmaker has its place for shows though I reckon
I tend to use the detail factory soft brushes now on the m140 because I dont need loads of poke... but I still have cheap hoggs hairs as well. ill go and buy the DF hoggs hair at some point though.
Great video as always, Jon. Always so informative and honest about products, which is so bloody useful! I have a bottle of this to try out at some stage but I think it might be my go-to summer weather products thanks to that gloss and slip! I've been using BSD all winter as it seems to be good at fending off the winter road crap. Keep up the top work mate 👍
Just ordered some. Subscribing to this channel is costing me a fortune! I'm still testing the Polar Seal so I'll have to wait until that goes off before I try the bead maker. Great song.
That's a hard one. I think Beadmaker gives a silkier and better gloss but Polar Seal is really easy to apply. Just this week I've tried using Polar Seal by diluting it in a spray bottle with distilled water and using it as a quick detailer. Looking out of the window I can see the rain beading off the pannels of my truck. I think I'll use Polar Seal and Sonax if rain is due and save the Beadmaker for the summer weeks.
I bought a new car a few weeks ago, and I've been investigating and trying out a number of the "Ceramic" and "SiO2" and hybrid products on the market, looking for exactly: Slickness, and Gloss. I love seeing a rich, glossy paint appearance, and the feeling of the cloth that wants to just slide right off the paint. But none of the "ceramic" type products gave me that. I tried Meguiar's Hybrid Ceramic wax, Carpro Reload, Carpro Elixir, Luxxio Speedy Coating (A local NZ based SiO2 product), and Turtle Wax Ice Seal 'n Shine, but they all left the paint feeling "grabby" on a micro fiber cloth. Great hydrophobic effects from all of them, but I was still disappointed. (Cotton Terry cloths slip and glide nicely on the dry paint surface, but micro fiber cloths stay grippy/grabby.) Then I just saw your videos and Pan's videos on Bead Maker, so I've just gone and ordered a pint + a gallon of this, as I hope it will give me that slick, slippery feeling I'm looking for, as well as the rich glossy look... I don't care if the durability is only a month or two... My car is always garaged, and I will be snow foaming, and two-bucket washing every couple of weeks, and each time I wash I'll just dry off along with an addition of Bead Maker, so the endurance of the product shouldn't be an issue. PS: your own music in the background over the time lapse of cleaning your car was a really nice touch! :)
Looks like a very similar product to Bouncers Bead Juice. I love bead juice when doing simple valets as a drying aid / topping up my own protection every 3/4 weeks. Pretty cheap at £50ish for 5 litres of the stuff too! I tend to apply it dry for the first time, then top up wet .
Wonderful video! Also really enjoyed the music!!! Bead Maker is definitely problematic in hot and humid conditions also the shine and gloss is still tremendous! Living in south florida you get a lot of time in rough conditions. Thanks friend!
Love your detail as always Just ordered two bottles from prestige, I’ve been dying to get my hands on this stuff as the yanks seem to be going mad for it I will be interested to see how it performs as I’m currently a gyeon wet coat fan.
looks every bit as good as a pasta wax. some pasta waxes can deliver 6 months+ durability though, but its not really the nuba thats responsible for making it last that long. beadmaker isnt a strong baseline sealant is prolly the best answer.. but its a great looking versatile spray dressing, topper erm thing :)
I like using it, but I noticed after 3 weeks it stopped beading for my daily driver but I use it as a drying aid when I wash my car, just not with a heavy application like the initial application.
Ive not tested that.. like fresh fusso might repel the water carrier in beadmaker which might effect its ability to bond.. but if you can get it layed out it will prolly work. give it a whirl and let me know if you can Dave be interested to see.
I would love to mix and match this product along with Adams H20 G/G to maintain my families paint sealed cars. I used it on my my coated car, and man the pop was even crazier than the coating. The slickness is phenomenal, but it did seem to mask the dirt and grime repellancy that I love about ceramic coatings. Rain and snow marks would stick more to the panels than the standalone coating. Finding a great substitute for a coated car is difficult after seeing the physical feel and look of Beadmaker.
Bead maker can also be used on every part of your car which is a big tick for me ! I’ve seen you can use this on your dashboard as well?! Great channel Jon
Good review. I will have to pick some up. The conclusion I came to after watching the video is that it is a product perhaps better suited to the summer months in the UK? The durability and hydrophobic qualities being less of an issue then, along with the brighter light to really show off the gloss.
perhaps yer, although really any product you stick on a car.. like you go and drive the car now and it looks like a dog dinner by the time you have made it up the road. but you could argue like winter is just a time to get through and keep the car tucked up and applying less product maybe. but dunno yer lots will all do it different, still nice to lay this stuff down just freezing cold right now.
I’m debating between going with gyeon mohs and skin combo or Powerlock Plus, Collinite 845, and bead maker combo. Any suggestions would help I’m looking for something that is highly hydrophobic and slick to make it easy to clean my car. What’s your guys thoughts?
Would you not be best with a Sonax QD....Turbo detailer or BSD? Maybe even the Can Coat from Sonax which has a nice glass feel to it (unlike the two QD's). All bead really well.
1. Good video as always! 2. I haven't used a clay bar yet that has removed bugs. 3. I haven't used a 'tar remover' that has actually removed ANY tar or tar remnants. There's tar particles on my semi's that screw drivers barely scrape off. 4. Good video as always!
Please consider doing a test of Mirror shine by torque. That product is constantly advertised through UA-cam and I wonder about its validity. Thank you
Can I use this stuff on paint protection film? Currently I only use wax polish on the film. Washing my car is a labour of love and I’d apply wax every week if time permitted, this is something that looks quick and easy to use.
just to mention, it doesnt like high humidity, takes longer to cure. and keep from freezing! But the plus of this product is just Awesome Gloss and Slickeness.. i like to use it as a detailer /drying aid sealer topper ..... its Addictive !!loll!
Authentic and balanced 👍 I’ve had bead maker for a couple of months now. I’m doubtful that I’m seeing the best of what this has to offer given that it’s being applied during the cold Yorkshire winter and usually in the dark! My main observation so far is that it’s mis-named. Beading seems not to be its main attribute. Gloss level on the other hand, is incredible.
When you apply the bead maker heavy spray on first time use, then light sprays on maintenance washes, when should you do the heavy application again in the future? Like a month or so? Or never again? Thanks!
@@ForensicDetailing Thanks! Are you still using bead maker lately? Or you're using other brand now? If so, what other product similar to beadmaker are you using now?
I get similar results with poorboys qd+. The gloss and slickness are also addictive, but doesn't play nice with certain sealants like megs uff. Love the channel.
John I’m having problems with dust marks after rain on my car, it happens with just Bilt Hamber wax stand alone. And I tried bead maker on top and it’s just the same. If it rains the very next day my cars covered in dust marks and it’s frustrating as I can’t keep cleaning the car every day!!!
After washing and drying I usually put a spray wax on my car. Should I put this on while the car is still wet? Should I dry and apply this before the wax? After the wax? What's the best way??
Looks like good stuff. But I'm curious how BM will do against Orchard Autocare Perfection? Perfection is like magic, slickness and award winning shine instantly. Did order some BM tho :)
I think we need to look at the name. Beadmaker. It certainly doesn't repel water in a rainstorm like wax does, but it does break setting water down into tiny beads so they dont leave big water spots. I never use it as a drying aid, that's not what its meant for in my book. In the summer I apply it every 2 weeks and the car looks great. In the winter I just use Optimum spray wax as a covering
tempted to test this Jon, but don't have a garage and leaving it for 8 hours without getting wet is difficult in most cases, other than a hot summer's day/night. Just done the CX-5 today and used Gyeon Wetcoat and new Gyeon QD. Wonder if its worth using in a 'special' home-made mix?
I have CSL and have been topping with c2v3. Just used beadmaker and really enjoy the look but I worry since I don't feel its self cleaning properties are as good, nor the hydrophobic qualities. Panel looks flat nearly every time I wash the car weekly.
Hey james Im using some cheap electric leaf blower I repo'd of my family. its powerfull but a bit unwieldy im looking at a smaller handheld one like a master blaster or the mini bigboi one i think.
Thanks for making this video! Quick question-during your drying process I saw you use what appears an electric blower for the wheels in that video when it was outside. Was this also used on the whole body of the car? Do you have a video on this also?
Great video, personally love the product, leaves the car very glossy and slick, but as you said its hydrophobic properties are not great at all, so I’m thinking combining approx. 24oz BM and 2oz car pro reload as an experiment, we’ll see how that works out.
Is this a product that could be used on the glass as well? Is there a product you recommend using on glass that will leave a nice clear, clean, beading surface?
It was originally developed to be used on plastic .... I use it on every surface inc glass and it works just as well as on painted surfaces in my option !!
It seems all the marketing of detail products is directed toward beading which leads to water spots and etching if left unattended as opposed to sheeting. What products sheets?
possibly mate. Its interesting because its really a hydrophillic material that pools and sheets. but hydrophobic ones which bead, when they loose that initial beading bling you get a nice sheeting going on. Also Ive noticed with really good hydrophobic performance all the water flys off the car when you use it, which I kind of like. but yer not sure on the answer to that. hydrophobic does all yield lower roll down angles to prompt the water to run off in the first place from what Ive seen.
Your music reminds me when I was younger and heard the Beatles sing, I thought they were Americans. Later I saw an interview when they came to America and heard them speak. It was rather confusing, but I liked it. I was hooked. It's funny that Herman's Hermits sounded like Brits. It's a strange world we live in.
Great new music Jon. Good information on beadmaker in this video. I love the product, but I think there is some misconception in the industry. It isnt really a stand-alone protection product. It’s basically a QD with insane gloss and slickness that you use over a coating or sealant. I use it about once a month over CQUK 3.0. It’s warm and dry mostly where I live so I can’t speak to whether it should be used more frequently in more severe weather areas. Cheers.
Love the music and will check it out... Can you help please. BMW Mineral grey now looking like a washed out Zebra with dark strips on most panels. Contacted Company int the States but won't take calls owing to the virus. Contacted them prior to applying as wanting assurance that it would go over new wax or better to leave out that stage, Their reccomandation was to go on top of the wax which I did. The initial response was cross contamination as I didn't clean the car properly. This is where I tried calling them to discuss but no chance so I put in in writing via an email and now thery are saying I should have left it a week before apptying the Beadmaker. Here is my prep detail and as far as I was concerned the car was ready 100% after the Liquid wax coating. Obviously it all has to come off and I sm currently at a loss of which product to use to remove it. Here's my prep detail. After watching your video I applied beadmaker libreally using most of the pint bottle using one microfibre to apply and one to wipe off (large good quality towel and turning over. Any suggestions would be well received as unfortantly I dont seem to be getting an approximate response from the other side of the water. Here are my response about the defective cleaning. OK I'm no pro but I didnt think I was too far off the mark. note your comments about defective cleaning. Car BMW mineral grey 2015 paint condition good and better than average. Day One. Washing Autoglym Polar Blast foam wash with pressure gun one layer applied and left 10 mins then rinsed off. 2nd foam wash using Polar Blast and Turtle wash pro (no wax or other additives. Rinsed. Bug and tar remover rinsed. Clayed whole car mequires clay and Rapid Detailer. Day Two. Waxed late afternoon no sun with Maguire’s Liquid wax and polished good result. Day Three. One pint of BeadMaker arrived via Amazon and applied after watching video clips. Used entire bottle covered bodywork, sprayed liberally panel at a time using microfibre to spread and mop up excess then clean microfibre to buff. Product went on easily and pleased initially with end result. It was a sunny day and main panels e.g. bonnet, roof warm to hot to touch. A few hours later came to examine my hardwork and noticed darker areas on the larger panels looking a bit like wax that had not buffed out properly. These are not able to polish out. Comments: I used Beadmaker in sunny condition as I thought unlike wax I was able to do so. The finish from Day Two was prefect and the wax applied on your recommendation. I no doubt your product is good, but want to try and work out were it has gone wrong. I note your comment about taking everything off and starting again, but can you recommend HOW TO DO THIS? Also if I repeat the process in the same conditions I feel sure I’d get the same result. I know you guys don’t want to talk at the moment, but I am feeling a little upset after two full days work and a car resembling a washed out Zebra!
Another good video jon, liked the music too. The guys that make this product seem like good people and i think this is one of the reasons that everyone is looking at their product as i have seen so many vids. its a bit like BSD it meets half the requirements, these products are the complete opposite though, BSD is not slick and gloss is average but durability and beading is great. I think i would rather use BSD over bead maker as durability and beading is more important to me. Maybe its hard to have all 4 but as said before megs ultimate range comes close with fast finish or ultimate spray wax.
I think its a lot of guys want to spray something on the car perhaps when they wash it.. its like the finish touch. So some of the things like BSD last so long its more a spray sealant. But BSD perhaps you could just top up when you wash the car and you get that nice slick thing going on.. defo nice to work with this stuff.
Nicely sung Jon I thought you'd binned Bead Maker off in one of the previous reviews? (which you did reference) What prompted you to give it a more permanent/personal test? It'll be interesting to see how this plays out...maybe an application earlier in the year, before we're hit with the colder weather.
I dont think I binned it off I just tried to like rate tham and score them on test critera because it removes my personal bias about what im looking for in a product, and beadmaker won 2 of those tests. Its worth checking out. the product that picked up the most marks and won is the product I favor the least. why review it seperately. I actually wasnt going to or planning to, I thought the comparison test was the best way to understand it. I didnt want to do just another BM review really because YT is now flooded with them. But I have it here and I wanted to put it on the red peril. So I can sort of fire up the camera and squeeze a video out of it at the same time :) It is a product thats of interest as well so worth talking about on the channel.
hi, not sure if you've addressed this before but I was wondering what's the best way to strip wash a car? May be getting my first car, something very basic but also want to make it look good so want to start fresh with no waxes, polishes, blah blah, on there. 👀
basically only sure fire way is old school full decon followed by machine polish. theres a lot of strip wash detergent products and they do attack the protection more, but they cant really remove it. If your product is nearly dead you could hit it with a strip wash and then use like a pre wax cleaner by hand and then put a wax on...
Hi John, I am new to detailing and I am confused by all the products out there. I recently bought Bead Maker but not really sure where to use it in the cleaning process. I have snow foamed, washed, polished with Autoglym Resin Polish then waxed with Carnuba. Do I need Bead Maker in this system? Also once washed (metallic black BMW) how do I maintain between washes, I spent ages cleaning but one short trip it looks dirty again! Hope you can help, love your vids.
yo cary so wash polish wax. all good. now when you wash next time and the car is wet, you can maybe dry off with a towel and then go over the panels with beadmaker and gloss up the paintwork. how do you maintain in between washes. simple answer is you dont mate. let it get dirty clean it again witha nice safe wash process.. sometimes in summer I do some onr wipe downs when I cant be bothered to break out all the gear. but with wet winter dirt you need to do a proper wash really...
Can you do an episode on meguairs ultimate quik wax? I feel that is an excellent product that works well and is extremely underrated because it’s an “off the shelf” detailing product as compared to such by P&S or autofinesse etc.. I personally use it as a topper for coatings on paint and on my bare windscreen and I feel it works well as a maintenance / sacrificial layer above my coatings.
I think I used that stuff its synthetic nuba rights. Its a decent enough wax but I just prefer a nuba based one. I didnt find the durability great on this or the hydrophobic performance.
John, I’m still waiting for the britemax extreme elements 2.0 review you used last winter! Where was the end of year products rewards? At least you saved me a load of money.
I have been watching many of your videos and they are great. Informative and entertaining! All the testing you do is great but seem to be geared towards clean paint. What about toppers for ceramic coating? Seems toppers behave differently on coatings. Any chance on a video with these toppers being tested on a coated panel?
Good review yet again. This product looks really useful for a quick application before a car show, or maybe during a show to top up the shine. On a separate note. What adepter are you using on your jet wash? I've never seen the reel on top of a Karcher before. May I ask where you got it from becouse it looks handy as hell.
Is there a snow foam video coming up? I saw all different foams on your table. My favorite was also there valet pro advance ph neutral😎 i will also test out beadmaker👍 great vid as always

Hows the longevity? Been about 3 months since this video
Great voice and guitar pickin' skills.
You sir are one very talented man
Two great skills detailing and guitar both of which I was good at🤣🤣🤣🤣😎😎
It's ironic that we enthusiasts who wash and protect our vehicles frequently obsess over "durability" considering most of us a reapplying protection every time we wash and dry.
You are a very talented musician
Scott Weaver he sounds like a Texas boy when he sings amazing! Great song. Was it original I wonder? I loved his voice.
I want this on apple music. For real.
cheers guys its an original song I wrote, I dump stuff on my music channel if you want to listen.

@@ForensicDetailing You sing beautifully!
@@ForensicDetailing Amazing, Love it!
I love Beadmaker. Gives the best gloss and slickness. I applied a base coat on a dry car, then apply it every week after a wash as a drying aid. Perfect!
And does it last that way in terms of beading? Every other product I use seems to be gone after the first wash! 😢
Can i apply it traditionally after a weekly wash instead of a drying aid? Because my drying towel i dont wipe it i pat it
Can't believe you've not hit 100k subs yet.
Where did you buy it from in UK?
J Clarke - Motorgeek but Prestige Car Care have it too.
Does it help keep even a little bit of salt, slush, sand and dirt off?
I'm in MN and thinking about using this right now
Glad to hear a review from a fellow Canadian! Our winters are very rough. Glad to know this works for us.
Exactly, After a wash I like to put something extra to give it a pop and this works well.
I find that that the car is easier to wash the paint is smoother and my wash mitt glides down the panels.
u use this product after every car wash ?
Yes
I just spritz car after sheeting water off then you my sucker drying towel. No chance of scratching and towels glides off paint. @@jaming2323
I'm not worried that it won't last for months as I am happy to apply often if its this easy to go on.
this should be good for your requirements del.
How does it leave more product on paint when you wrote spray a little?
Also how do you apply without damaging drying towel?
LOVE the Bead Maker, so slick and brings the shine on my black Audi and GTI.
Do you apply this on top of a wax?
I enjoy your videos much more than those who attempt an overly produced take. Your down to earth approach to products and reviews is helpful.
Thank you for this honest review! I plan to use this on my car and I don't mind having to top up every couple weeks. Not only will I maintain the shine but it will feel like I'm taking good care of the car.
John is this glossier than done and dusted Si?
Looks good but not a product that I need as my car is a garage queen during the winter. Nice to see the guitar back. 🎸
@@ForensicDetailing do you think mystic bubbles and the bathe plus are the same product in different branding ? Seem to be the same but not sure
I can imagine that will look great stuart cool stuff.. good to know BM sits on UHD well. nice combo you have there :)
@@ForensicDetailing yeah it looks really great I have a red octavia vrs and the red looks awesome.
I came here for the review, but I loved the song even more. Cheers from California 👍
John Griffiths - Thanks John, don’t tempt me with even more products, this hobby is getting expensive! 😉
Just think of the money your saving by doing your own detailing, that's what I do.
Never like the BSD that much. Seems too hard to work with and results are average at best. Definitely better out there
I’ve just used bead maker and wow the shin and smooth ness I got was amazing I keep my cars clean and waxed all the time and I was truly supprised on the shin I got from it and the ease of use to get the smooth feel and shin amazing stuff in my book I’ll see over time on what it does to the paint
How does FK425 compare to beadmaker when comparing gloss and slickness?
Applied to the M2 first time yesterday. Glad I bought the multi litre package as got through 850ml or so of product on first application. I used it as a drying aid before putting the full coat on and it worked very well doing that but even at lower concentrations showed gloss. I think for top up not much would be needed at all. The MF towel ends up saturated and was wondering if much smaller amounts of bead maker would still cost the care adequately?
Just dry the car normally them apply this product that works best and is the cheapest way of doing it
@@richlee509 don't use it any more nice effect but builds static or attracts dust somehow. Only lasts about four weeks also. Better off using sio2 wet rinse type of product IMO. The slickness and candy effect of beadmaker has its place for shows though I reckon
What’s your detail brush of choice?
I tend to use the detail factory soft brushes now on the m140 because I dont need loads of poke... but I still have cheap hoggs hairs as well. ill go and buy the DF hoggs hair at some point though.
Certainly seems to leave some nice gloss on that red paintwork! Love a deep red in the right light
Great song.
Derek Cole hey which do you think is better beadmaker or polar seal. Looking to get one. ?
Great video! I have Bead Maker but have not had a chance to try yet. You are a man of many talents. Your singing great!
No nonsense just good advice and music. Your knees would enjoy a kneeling pad more than cold concrete chap.
Cheers
Love your detail as always
Just ordered two bottles from prestige, I’ve been dying to get my hands on this stuff as the yanks seem to be going mad for it
I will be interested to see how it performs as I’m currently a gyeon wet coat fan.
Does bead maker replace carnauba wax?
looks every bit as good as a pasta wax. some pasta waxes can deliver 6 months+ durability though, but its not really the nuba thats responsible for making it last that long. beadmaker isnt a strong baseline sealant is prolly the best answer.. but its a great looking versatile spray dressing, topper erm thing :)
Forensic Detailing Channel can I use it as a top for Blackfire blackice wax?
I like using it, but I noticed after 3 weeks it stopped beading for my daily driver but I use it as a drying aid when I wash my car, just not with a heavy application like the initial application.
Can you put this on top of fusso coat or similar? Great vid btw
Finding a great substitute for a coated car is difficult after seeing the physical feel and look of Beadmaker.
interesitng feedback jordan because what your tlaking about is something I was interested in
Bead maker can also be used on every part of your car which is a big tick for me ! I’ve seen you can use this on your dashboard as well?! Great channel Jon
Glossy dash board have to much reflection and could have a blinding effect on your eyes while driving..just saying!
BSD doesn't give the same gloss..
Thanks!
After full.prep m8.
@@ForensicDetailing Thanks! Are you still using bead maker lately? Or you're using other brand now? If so, what other product similar to beadmaker are you using now?
Jon great review as always. How about a comparison between this and Gtechniq C2V3 Liquid Crystal?
I get similar results with poorboys qd+. The gloss and slickness are also addictive, but doesn't play nice with certain sealants like megs uff. Love the channel.
Ive used the poorboys QD dont think its on the same level as gloss and slickness as BM but its decent enough for sure steve.
can I use this over other sealants? use as a quick detailer?
John I’m having problems with dust marks after rain on my car, it happens with just Bilt Hamber wax stand alone. And I tried bead maker on top and it’s just the same. If it rains the very next day my cars covered in dust marks and it’s frustrating as I can’t keep cleaning the car every day!!!
theres no miracle cure for this. you can try lots of products but when that dusty rain comes down I get the same.
@@ForensicDetailing that’s so disappointing :( would gyeon wetcoats self-cleaning ability help with this?
What are the small detailing brushes? Thank you for this video and your beautiful song!
Great info on Beadmaker! That song was kickass!
Decon where do you get it please
So... it should be called Gloss Maker then!
In the winter I just use Optimum spray wax as a covering
fair point yer, but I think its just like a name. but yer could have perhaps been a better name
tempted to test this Jon, but don't have a garage and leaving it for 8 hours without getting wet is difficult in most cases, other than a hot summer's day/night. Just done the CX-5 today and used Gyeon Wetcoat and new Gyeon QD. Wonder if its worth using in a 'special' home-made mix?
Very beautiful voice my friend. And nice skills with the acoustic. Hope to see more stuff!
Just saw you have a music channel! Dreams do come true 😉🤣👌
I have CSL and have been topping with c2v3. Just used beadmaker and really enjoy the look but I worry since I don't feel its self cleaning properties are as good, nor the hydrophobic qualities. Panel looks flat nearly every time I wash the car weekly.
Bead Maker is to give the car that candy glossy look that pops and nothing else.
Hi Jon, looking to buy a leaf blower soon, which one are you using?
I see that Valet Pro Advanced Neutral snow foam in the back. How is it? Does it have a massive effect on lsp? Using Valet Pro PH Neutral atm
Is this a product that could be used on the glass as well? Is there a product you recommend using on glass that will leave a nice clear, clean, beading surface?
not sure what they say about that, but I wouldnt use it on glass gil.
Love the music video 👍😃👍😃
How does it compare to autoglanz smooth velvet?
Beadmaker gloss levels are great. But beading and protection aren’t there like Sonax BSD
Yes ed
Is this gives you better gloss than maguars gold class carnabua?
Contacted them prior to applying as wanting assurance that it would go over new wax or better to leave out that stage,
Their reccomandation was to go on top of the wax which I did.
Used entire bottle covered bodywork, sprayed liberally panel at a time using microfibre to spread and
mop up excess then clean microfibre to buff. Product went on easily and pleased initially with end result.
It was a sunny day and main panels e.g. bonnet, roof warm to hot to touch. A few hours later came to examine
my hardwork and noticed darker areas on the larger panels looking a bit like wax that had not buffed out properly.
I know you guys don’t want to talk at the
moment, but I am feeling a little upset after two full days work and a car resembling a washed out Zebra!
This reminds me so much of Autobrite direct project 64
I was thinking that too, same colour, durability...
Nicely sung Jon
I thought you'd binned Bead Maker off in one of the previous reviews? (which you did reference)
What prompted you to give it a more permanent/personal test?
Nice video ! They want you to put a lot, but I note that it works best with little product ( 1-2 spray max per panel )
John, many thanks for your help very much appreciated
Is that the nur in the intro?
What is the best hydrophobic prod youve used?
things like Fusso, moonlight, new Gyeon Wax, Meguiars hybrid detailer, Sonax BSD all very hydrophobic.
May I ask where you got it from becouse it looks handy as hell.
hey barry its just an old karcher K4 ECO series. I think the reel is kind of handy but the hose is a pain and not long enough :(
All the way from California. Love your channel! Excellent musical talent.
Is there a snow foam video coming up? I saw all different foams on your table. My favorite was also there valet pro advance ph neutral😎 i will also test out beadmaker👍 great vid as always
yesh mate, its gonna be a while yet though im just using them all through the winter first.
