Just bought this exact rack with my 2013 FJR. SAME PROBLEM STILL EXISTS! (why am I yelling?) Glad I watched your video first... just added a couple stainless washers.. good to go. I guess that "dumbass" is still working at Givi! LOL! Anyway, Anyone with an FJR must spend hours watching T.W.O.! Thanks for all the info and advice, love your videos
Thanks for your vids and lessons learned, Bryan. Givi is still supplying the shorter bolt and spacer so you saved me time, possible damage, and dollars. Thanks again!
I agree about the smaller bolt on my 357. I put 3 washers in place and I had to mallet the mount to try to stretch it out (before I mounted it). It wasn't even close to matching up on my 2010 fjr before the hammer-job. I got it about 1/2 way (1/2 a bolt away) and tightened it down after that.
I just spoke to Givi about this since I ordered the SR357 and Maxia 56 top box yesterday. They said they’ve been making and selling the SR357 since 2006 and that just because some people on UA-cam have had issues with the fitment (bolt too short, spacer too short etc.) that they are not speaking for everyone. He assured me that if I install it and check to make sure its level before tightening anything down, that if I see it’s not level or any other issues, including what anyone has mentioned, that they will do whatever they have to do to make it right. This is the number I called: Givi- 704-679-4123 Forgot to ask for the guys name. Hope this helps!! Alex proud new owner of a 2018 FJR1300ES
Thanks for the heads up on this. My 357 rack for my FJR had the same exact problem yours had. Shimmed it up with a washer and problem solved. Not sure I would have caught this without your help.
So you tried that and it was worse? Didn't think so since grinding will likely void the virginal warranty. We're just going through these "more problems" in the mind, right? They way I see it, the only issue would be the entire bracket would sit a tiny bit lower and would tilt very slightly down toward the back so the rigidly-fixed front mount strap would be tilted slightly so the holes might to be slight enlarged front-to-back and shimmed up from below with a crushable washer. Even sitting 3mm lower is better for a huge trunk case on a sport tourer. The poor fit is inexcusable for such a simple thing to correct in manufacturing. Since the FJR1300 tail section is weak anyway, I'll pass on the ugly and overpriced plastic pods and take my Gold Wing when I need serious cargo space. Good videos!
Bonjour, ce n'est pas l'entretoise n° 8 qui est trop courte c'est la courbure du support qui n'est pas bonne. Je suis actuellement en contact avec Givi pour trouver une solution.

Hi Bryan. Where did you get your seats? They look great!

Truth hurts givi lol
Definitely didn't fit my bike without a new bolt and some extra spacers. The suppliers didn't believe me but they agreed when they saw it...

Had same problem with a rack bought in 2018. Fixed with washers and a longer bolt
Is it really inately stronger than a stock E55 mounting plate reducing stresses on rear end ?
do you have a video on your new seats, would it make it easier for a short person ?
ROB NAVAEI The seats he bought are custom and it's a inch higher
Does this Givi rack allow you to carry more weight the trunk over the stock/OEM (17lbs) rear platform?
Yes
I'd grind down the other two POS parts instead and lower the whole thing - looks like there's some room below.
It would do worse to make it even and create more problems than before.
