Additional Tips: 1. Once you enter the area that has the apples and elven wood, you will no longer find Sunions that are required to make Meat Stew, which at least at my stage of game, is the best meal to make and only requires 1 to get full.
2. Once you go down into the Crystal Depths, regular stones will be hard to come by and most statues will require 15 to 20 stone per statue.
3. Build an Oven ASAP. This will allow you to make meals that you are able to take with you that will allow you to not only eliminate your hunger, but also regain HP. Eating food you find only eliminates your hunger, no HP gain.
4. Mauls/Battle Hammers deal increased damaged to armored Orcs/Goblins. Axes do increased damage to tree and unarmored enemies. Swords are best used for attacking multiple enemies.
5. Enchant your weapons at a rune table. I put this off for too long and the lightning enchant is great especially against hordes and sieges.
Im sure theres more, but these are my top 5 that weren't mentioned.
Definitely build a mapstone in the Elven area as you will always need to return for wood.
And use the cave bear to cut down the trees^^
Great tips, and that's why map stones are crucial. I even rebuilt the one at the starting base, for easy stone and sunions.
Very simple tip that some players might not realise - go to sleep at night, do your stuff during the day. Orcs "mostly come at night, mostly" and you'll make your life so much easier by avoiding night time. Go back to your base in the late evening/dusk, repair, empty your loot into crates, put some food on the hearth, and go to sleep. In the morning, you'll be fully healed, rested, get a filling breakfast, and ready for another day in Moria ^_^

A trick i found as a solo player to easily beat the orc bosses is to kite all of the mobs to one side of the room and then lead them up one of the side staircases. The boss comes up the stairs first and nobody comes at you from behind. Once you kill the boss most of the others despawn. I've even cleared them without taking any damage just by alternating attacks and shield bash.

That’s a solid tip and one that I actually sorta used myself when playing solo. I ran around in a circle on the staircases and used a bow to shoot the boss as he followed me. Thanks for the tip and glad you enjoyed the video! Might be worth talking about as a strategy tip for a new video!

Just a note, black diamonds can drop (albeit rarely) from orcs killed during sieges and hordes.

Subscribed, im loving this game and your video was easy to watch with the editing and the commentary,
a bit of positive feedback i could give is look into your mic (personally) even though you were very articulate some sounds came of raspy or harsh. I dont make videos but consume a lot and just something i thought id suggest.

Thank you so much for the sub and the feedback. I do tend to have trouble with my audio and microphone. I think a future investment for me will be one of those mic arms and a pop filter. I don’t recall exactly how I had the mic position but I believe it was in front of me for recording this video. Something I’ll certainly try to be more cognizant of going forward either way. You can also train the Orcs/Gobs into groups of spiders and run off to let them thin each other out.

So a limited number of black diamonds, which is used primarily to access the mines and fast travel being secondary. Sounds like you gotta be careful who you invite over to your world or the very least start a second one with others to share resources. Too easy for someone to walk in and deconstruct your fast travels never to hear from them again.
One tip I haven't seen anywhere, build the Quarrymaster masterwork, that pickaxe mines in a wider area and is not restricted by type of ore meaning you can mine silver, gold, etc way way before you get the first age pickaxe. The shield masterwork is okish but shields are really good in general and the blue torch can be substituted for the miners helmet for light
Quarrymaster is the kit you need for getting Adamant.

Another tip. Orcs and most monsters ( other then flying) can not climb. Just build a barrier or build on a ledge. No more worries about a hoard. ( they can break barriers) but you ( if not on a ledge) build multi stacks barriers and a few wall behind em. Bonus tip. If you do not put up a door ( just climb over your walls) then they will try and find the closest path or just stand there.

Where do you mine black diamonds in the lower deeps?
In the beta I was able to find them in the dark pits you can come across in the lower deeps. They are areas that you have to descend with rope ladders. They are very dark and dangerous. I will say though that they might have changed it or I have had just bad luck so far cause I haven’t been able to find them yet in the pits. They take awhile to explore because of how fast you take damage from despair. But I plan on making a new guide video talking about this soon. Hopefully by then I’ll have a more definitive answer for you. Thank you for watching the video though, I hoped it helped you in other ways.

I don’t personally on Ps5 but from what I’ve been able to find out, it seems you have to enter your build mode then press L2

my friends and i are stuck where we have to make the bridge with 100 granite (which is ok) and 20 black diamonds, because we only have 11 black diamonds and there are no more orc camps and the siege does not drop
If you go to the Lower Deeps and down into the Dark Deeps you can mine black diamonds down there. It’s a bit of a grind cause the drop rate is shit but you can find them in some of the large rocks on the ground of those caverns. Just watch out for the “nameless” things stirring about.
can you build shelter and block AI pathing? like in elven quarter what will happen if you block the way of wolf pack?
Great question and I think that does indeed work. In the base that I’m currently using I sort of blocked off one of the paths that lead to it. And I’ve found that orcs no longer come from that side and ones that patrol from the other direction who try to go that way end up hitting the wall then turning back around. Might be something worth testing more to see if I can stop orc patrols completely.
Yes you can. but with the latest patch. the wolves are far less. you can even build mini walls around a camp fire instead of a hearth.
