    Some helpful tips;
    1- stock up on elberaths blessing to make lembas bread it’s found in woven sector
    2- fully explore each area before moving onto the next to rebuild statues, muzanakan and irk chests
    3- build the memorial flame (dwarf remains) and gold pile to get quick buffs in your camp before setting out
    4- if you build your camps near the breweries hidden in the game you can get the drinking buffs early in the game (first one is always at your starting base camp location)
    5- make sure to create a meal each time you return to camp, sleep while it is cooking and eat the meal when you wake to get an extra 2 buffs
    6- each new area has weapon and armour blueprints to find, get and equip them before moving to the next section
    7- enemies have different types so one weapon will not be enough to go through the game make sure you have a sword/axe, spear/bow/crossbow and maul on your inventory to switch to if you aren’t getting yellow damage numbers. The first boss is armoured so needs the blunt maul weapon to be effective
    8- when you see a camp of goblins/orcs take them out then destroy their flag post in the middle of camp to get the key to open their chest
    9- if you clear an area of camps and destroy their flags they will not respawn, instead wild animals will appear for meat and hides
    10- although multiplayer is fun the resources aren’t multiplied so gathering black diamonds together will be almost impossible until late game
    11- don’t build camps in great forges, if you die during an enemy raid they will constantly respawn unless you start a raid at a different camp to stop the first raid
    12- with excess black diamonds rebuild the fast travel terminals and place a fireplace at each of them, fast travel is instant but treats it as though your dwarf walked their so will be hungry but is vital for quick resource gathering
    13- the second and final boss both have gimmicks to their fight so place a bedroll and camp before their fights for when you die
    14- gather durins axe pieces as you go so you don’t need to backtrack as it’s needed to escape
    15- when you beat the final boss you can clear the damaging mists and repair the bridge of kazad dun, it is not in the mithril load read carefully

      Number 1 is elven district, 2 orc chests damn autocorrect. You can also equip 1 masterwork piece which gets its own hot key slot, the infinite torch is good as it will sit on your back when not equiped and illuminate the area still while never going out and not taking up space or a hand.

    I'm still just so relieved that the game doesn't suck.

    Would love more guides like this. You make things so easy to understand.

    These things are almost too basic to need a tutorial for.
    I think new players would benefit from some tips about things that are either never mentioned at all or are barely touched on in a journal entry but never really explained in a way that's actually helpful. Things like the "noise" system and how to manage it to your benefit whether that be avoiding or intentionally triggering hordes, using "deconstruction" mode to dismantle objects you've built instead of tearing them down with a pickaxe, maybe showing people how to use the building system to be able to stack chests which is a huge QoL improvement but not something you can do without spending hours fiddling with different pieces, explaining how the siege AI works and why setting your base up with only one entry way that is heavily reinforced is the ideal way to insure it's as secure as possible, etc.

    1 minor annoyance is you are unable to build a simple ramp. Every platform is unfortunately horizontal and the only way to go vertical is either a rope ladder or spacing the horizontal platforms down every so often.

    • @vitrian
      @vitrian 10 місяців тому +1

      Agreed. Unlocking stairs and ramps with granite seems like a bit of a wait for something that I could just put a few wooden boards down for.

    Helpful Tip: Carry a SHIT TON of Sunions with you. It's required for "Meat Stew" which is the best early game meal and are harder to find once you enter the area the area with the apples and elven wood.

    • @scott8448
      @scott8448 8 місяців тому

      Nah stock up on elberaths blessing (blue flower) found in the woven district, you can only get a couple each reset but are needed to make lembas bread which fully restores health and stamina and is a ration to take on the go. Sunions are plentiful enough but could also make stuffed mushrooms or vegetable soup for bigger bonuses like meat stew when at camp.

    Great tip about the base design. i like that the Orcs basically can't damage your stuff because of it.

    Thanks for this. Love the base wall trick. I got completely overrun by what seemed like nonstop sieges in my first attempt and wasn't even able to even fully establish the initial base. Finally was able to at least slow them down by building a double layer of walls for them to try and slug through. I thought I had done something wrong to trigger the non-stop sieges but I am pretty sure I either had a bad world or maybe the siege mechanic was bugged in my game, because I have not seen anyone else get that chaotic level of pressure early on in their videos.

    • @Rowgue51
      @Rowgue51 10 місяців тому

      That trick actually doesn't work. The way the siege AI works you HAVE to have a proper door or pathable open access to be able to get in and out of your camp. All of the mobs will attack the door(s) and the wall section(s) the door(s) is placed in and nothing else, until they manage to break the door and get inside. If there is no door or other open access to your camp then the AI will simply start dropping mobs from the sky right inside your camp.

      @@Rowgue51Actually it does work. I still built a wall and door to close off the inner room but also built the low barriers on top of the outside wall and at the side. The worst I had to deal with was the bats coming in to attack me. The goblins and orcs all attacked the wall below and even the few that came up to the side just shot arrows. None ever got past it.
      Now if it works anyplace else I do not know because I never had to use it but at that beginning location, it is the perfect solution if you are getting overrun early.

    How long do the wall and ground torches last? Do they need wood to stay lit?

    • @Sharingan1666
      @Sharingan1666 10 місяців тому

      Nope, they function like Minecraft torches, rather than Valheim torches. They do not require anything to keep burning. Same with the Hearths. The only thing I've found thus far that needs 'refueling' would be materials for repairs and coal for the forge.

    • @Dare_To_Game
      @Dare_To_Game  10 місяців тому +1

      They seem to burn indefinitely, which is interesting, because the hand torch eventually burns out.

    • @scott8448
      @scott8448 8 місяців тому +1

      The round brazzier type lights you need wood or coal for burn out eventually same with standing torches found in the game (not built) but not your standing/wall torches.
