    hi! this marks the third week in a row that we've done a 3-recipe video like this. keep the streak alive? what should we make next?

      I liked that you are demonstrating a whole meal of one ethnicity. Other Greek combos would be good. What about Southwest or Italian themed?

      What about 3 or 4 base ingredients then show how adding 1 or 2 more can make a totally different recipe.
      I do this with seasoning. I pretty much season everything with 4 seasonings then I'll add other seasonings to change the taste.

    I REALLY enjoy your videos. This is my second one. The first one was the one with 3 different juices. You solidified my belief that all of the fruit/veggie should be consumed. I also love your video style...very down to earth - no bell and whistles. I have been wanting to make my own falafels for a while. So I am excited about using this recipe. I can't really afford a Vitamix right now, but I love watching how powerful it is! Blessings to you and your family.❤😊

    Coriander is the seed, cilantro is the leaf. In Britain it is all called coriander as that is the name of the plant.

    We use a half teaspoon of baking soda, two cans of chickpeas, a little liquid, and pressure cook the canned chickpeas until they get mushy (around 5 to 8 minutes). The baking soda helps break down the chickpea skins. Cool them, put them in the blender and make your hummus with your preferred seasonings. Edit: this is to make extra smooth hummus. That and the ice cube trick! 😁

    Thanks !! I love falafel’s !! They look so good!! I learned now why my hummus isn’t as smooth after watching this video. I’m not tapping down the chickpeas forcefully enough and not long enough. I’ll be trying this method soon! The lentil soup also sounds amazing. Thanks again for some great recipes!😊

    I just read an onion cutting hack, have not tired it, but purportedly if you chill them in the fridge or freezer, the latter briefly, it slows the release of the gas that causes us to become 'emotional'. Worth a shot and I will be trying it. My only other is to run the faucet, not uber super environmental but that seems to help too. Loving the falafel recipe, love that sammie. Making the lentil soup tonight, yumm!

    I usually don't watch Long UA-cam videos but this was so helpful. I want to try all of these recipes. I do second using an instant pot, it is life-changing for soups because it's done so much quicker. Plus it has a keep warm option so if you have to leave to pick up the kids or do errands you'll be okay.

    Im mostly plant based and fkn lovvvve your channel. I have two questions, please
    1. I'm in Australia so the a3500i doesn't come with the 8oz or food processor attachment. Can I still make your falafels using just the 2litre regular container?
    2. I'm into bitamixes because of you.. can I still use your link to buy from Vitamix Australia?
    Thank you for being sooo awesome!

    • @LINY
      @LINY  2 місяці тому +1

      Hi! Falafel is a food processor attachment thing only. It's one of the few things a standard Vitamix container cannot do. Get your Vitamix products from our good friend Tommy at RawBlend -- that helps us the most. www.rawblend.com.au/

    Ooooohhh, do y’all have an Instant Pot? If not, get one! If yes, then that lentil soup time would not take so long. 😁😁😁

    • @envt
      @envt Рік тому +1

      @Shalva Gale you can also cook the chickpeas in it for humus. And you don't have to soak them. Just add a teaspoon of baking soda to dissolve the skins. Enjoy.

      @@shalvagale209 I’ve definitely spent my fair share of time on UA-cam getting all kinds of tips on how to use it. And once you do, it’s great. I think you’d especially like it for soup…? 🤷‍♀️ There’s a lot of info out there to help. Jeff from “Pressure Luck Cooking” channel and Amy and Jackie’s channel and website also are two really good ones. And many others!

    If I may butt in, I highly recommend switching to Palouse Lentils, chickpeas, and split peas. All out of this world. I get mine on Amazon. Once you try them you'll NEVER EVER go back to anything found in stores. I'm not affiliated with the company, just someone who's been a huge fan for years. Just read reviews. The lentils are the small, brown type and can literally be cooked without any spices and devoured. Split peas taste as if you grew fresh. Garbanzos rock.
    I eat falafel and lentil soup 4-5 times a week, including breakfast in huge batches and freeze because I'm addicted and need extra folate (NOT folic acid) as someone with MTHFR gene anomaly as 40% of population and can't process folic acid garbage.

    If your deep frying it's ok to make them round but if you're shallow frying make them more like a Burger they will cook better and go in your pita better

    When making lentil soup, does it matter if you use the pink/orange lentils, or the green lentils. I know for myself, in general, when just making lentils. I much prefer the pink/orange ones.

    • @LINY
      @LINY  Рік тому +2

      it's really personal preference -- some are more "sophisticated" than others, but lentils are lentils (and not not lentils)
