I’m a 1350+ Masters Talonflame player and here’s a very strong combo I’d like to share. This combo is very strong in team fights especially when trying to take down an enemy goal. First you use Fly or Brave Bird to land behind the entire enemy team or behind their goal base, then Unite Move shove them all into your team. This combo works especially well with someone like Wigglytuff on your team so she can immediately Sing everybody afterward, usually end up wiping out the whole team. There’s also something that is not mentioned about the Fly+Flame Charge combo in this video. Fly’s move speed is influenced by Talonflame’s own movement speed, and since Flame Charge boosts Talonflame’s movement speed, using Fly afterwards will give you a longer travel distance. This is extremely good for stealing objectives especially when paired with a Fluffy Tail (you can use Fluffy Tail in the air when using Fly). The combo would be: hide in a bush nearby Zapdos/Dreadnaw but not too near to be easily scouted out, when they are at like 30% HP, Flame Charge out the bush then Fly above the objective, Fluffy Tail then easy steal. It’s a very cheesy playstyle but it works, I stole my way up through the Ultra Rank for free.
Forgot to mention Talonflame’s ult can also “almost” gurantee you a 50 point score late game with Score Shield+Buddy Barrier. Using the same concept, you Fly/Brave Bird behind the enemies defending their goal, then Unite Move pull them all out very far away, and since you just used your Unite Move you’ll have increased movement speed, if you take Flame Charge it’s even better. Basically after shoving them out of their goal base you’ll get back there a lot sooner than the opponent and start scoring with a bigger Score Shield.
I'm trying to learn Talonflame (im Expert Class 2, played 70% of my battles with him) so this really helped.
I personally like Flame Charge/Fly more for that extra mobility to move around the battlefield with relative ease. Aerial Ace is good though if you want to do more damage, but you have to lock on to a target to use it.

Here are my combos...
2nd skill(Fly),then 1st skill(Flame Charge) and then Ult,and then use 1st again when available
I use Flame Charge more often because of its dash effect rather than lock-on target
Flame Charge is *so* underrated. It’s literally an eject button on a 6.5 second cool down. It keeps you mobile. If you’re using Aerial Ace and running Fly, you’re asking to die when you commit unless you finish off the 1v1/team fight. You’re also chased down unless you can stall out until you have Fly ready. Talonflame is really objective based (Dred/Rotom/Zapdos) so you better be on them. You want to try to get to level 7 as soon as possible for the first Drednaw and be really conservative with your Fly/Brave Bird to seal and steal the objective for your team. No objective is secured with a Talonflame still alive even with the whole team down. Fly/Fluffy Tail is amazing at stealing objective as is Brave Bird’s burst range. Although Fluffy Tail/Brave Bird takes practice and timing is dependent on spacing. So you better get into training mode and learn the damage range to snipe the objectives. You’d also be surprised of the value of other items instead of Eject Button. X-Attack increases your burst damage KO range with either Flame Charge or Aerial Ace. X-Speed helps you stay mobile under many speed modifiers that would otherwise get you KO’d like Blastoise/Wiggs. Goal-Getter Talonflame isn’t bad either but more effective in solo queue. This bird has many things going for it. You just can’t really unga bunga without risking getting KO’d. You really have to stay mobile, stealthy and pick-n-choose your battles wisely.

I love this. I’m sure this will help a lot of beginners to better decide which starter to chose or even if they didn’t if they should even spend coins on it by seeing how others play. It’s one thing to practice but to actually see someone explain and how their potential is a lot more informative

Just started playing pokemon unite. I really liked ranged attackers but i started playing talonflame and the speed+scorability changed the game for me. Thanks for the tips! I hadnt thought of using fly to escape yet. Genius

I'm a beginner Talonflame main and recently tried Fly + AA on my Talonflame, with score shield and float stone (I did not realize how useless it is, also I'm on trainer level 8 so only got 2 held item slots for now) in a ranked match and it worked nicely! I made a Machamp retreat often and ALSO took it down before it could.
I managed to get that crown thing the player from each side with highest points for... I dunno what... get in the end of the match.
And I could do that due to the tips and insight provided in many other useful guides, especially this video, so thanks!

I like that Brave Bird has recoil damage in Pokémin Unite. It's similar to Brave Bird in the mainline Pokémon games.
I love using talonflame, but as you said it is really easy to take down which kinda sucks when you get teamed up on and you can't escape. Either than that I really love everything else about talonflame.
I use fly if they team up and get into a bush

I only started pokemon unite 2 days ago and honestly loving it so far, gave it a shot since i love mobas like smite paragon etc and seemed a little different taloflame seemed very much me unless there’s anyone better for Adc quick attacking champ

Talonflame was my starting choice and right away I could tell that he was designed as a hit and run character. Quickly swooping into battle like a hawk for a short 1v1 or picking off a weakened opponent before falling back.
That is actually so frustrating sometimes. I know he is build that way but man, I had a talonflame finishing kills all the time. You are doing the work, he jumps in for the final hit. It felt like BS. Dont get me wrong, I was happy he was there but at that point he was not needed there. I feel like there are so much better picks that consistently help you instead of one moving in and out all the time. In the end he ended with 16 kills but he had 1/4th of the damage that I had. I feel like he is a very good objective stealer but I have never seen one stealing an objective.

I really hope you are a good talonflame. I HATE seeing a talonflame in my team, specially in masters where most people play terrible since they don't give a f*.
When I get powered up enough in the game & get Talonflame, i'm gonna experiment with a Score focused Attack Weight + Aeos Cookie + Score Shield Talon. :D

I like flame charge/fly set to outsized opponents and close gaps or create gaps as necessary. Fly is also great for sneaking up on opponents without being noticed and flame charge/eject button work as great escape tools if shit hits the fan.
Talo was my starter and I still love playing him. Don't do it as much rn since I usually find myself as the default Attacker of my group, but I'm always down to play the fiery bird boi. :)
Edit: I would also like to add that Talo makes a good scorer with its escape options. I like to run goal-getter and Score Shield on it for these reasons (though now I might be considering Buddy Shield).
Yeah when your team defeats Zapdos, first thing that comes to my mind is using Fly

I feel like I am the only one using the Brave bird, Flame charge combo.
I in my opinion with the Arial ace combo you run out of moves and become a sitting duck when you use everything and don’t kill.
From my experience you need to take your time with Flame charge during a fight and weave in and out, always sticking close with your increased move speed.
You don’t even need to engage with Brave bird, you can go in with Flame charge and use the increased damage for BB. And since you have two kinds of dashes Eject button isn’t really needed so you can go with full heal and block any hinderance for a short time. Timing this is key but if you pull it of, it catches pretty much everyone of guard.
Bro I also use this combo bcoz of this I always Get MVP This combo is best when you have 50 goals at last time and You team is lacking behind.
I'm a new player and talonflame has never let me down I always git the crown and so far I've never lost
i think x attack and fluffy tail should also be mentioned, both can be activated while flying. X attack allowes fly to hit absurdly hard, like we're talking koing squishy pokes from half like pikachu and gard. Fluffy tail makes it possibly the best objective stealer in the game.
I just realised I have tried every pokemon in the game except talonflame so i wanted to know if the gale wings speed boost, flame charge boost and x speed affect fly so it can move longer distances?

Talonflame in a the real game gale wing gives priority move to flying type moves if hp is full

I just got to Master thanks to Fluffy Tail… You can kill Zapdos in literally 6-7 seconds 😵💫& its perfect when you trying to steal a Dred or Rotom.

Bruh I just was about to edit the lobby to check something then I got a match but I couldn't hit start because i hit exit lobby the moment I got a match and It was stuck loading💀

Talonflame was my starter as well, I really love it as a Pokémon… but it’s pretty bad in this game 😂
It's not that Talonflame is a bad Pokemon, it's just that he's one of those pokemon that really shines with a coordinated team like Blissey. His abilities are insanely powerful initiators and team fight turns but they require solid follow-up. Not the best pick if you're want to carry solo que but not weak by any means in my opinion.
@@MungeParty I only play soloq but even in coordinated play there are way better picks than talonflame. I think talonflame is the mon that perfectly embodies the intended speedster role (backdoor score, escape, repeat), however, the speedster role sucks. The launch pads, spawner times penalties and the existence of zapdos make that play style not only pointless but detrimental to your team
@@hybreon1806 talonflame isnt bad at all in this game. you just need more game knowledge than average to play it well. it can 100-0 squishier pokemon (like an assassin/speedster should) and do that damage AoE. also the mobility that it has is very well utilized when you can read the map properly due to capitalizing on mistakes. this means you dont need a scoreshield when you get decent in the game aswell as run muscleband attackweight and buddybarrier.
Great guide! Just to add something, you can use Fluffy Tail when you're using Fly. I've taken so many Dreadnaws and Zapdos that way 😄

That can throw off eject button users that get away from the hit
teeds i do have one question, i do remember buying Pokemon licenses from Aeos tickets during the beta, so do we really need to choose all this starters 😅. I'm Gardevour main and I'm good at it besides i don't really like any other Pokemon than Greninja among all that are in Unite 😂
What is the best held item combination for Talonflame? I'm using The barbell thing, then float stone and score shield.
Buddy barrier for that shield when u use your unite in team fight and it will help talon out cuz he is a bit squishy and muscle band for that extra basic attack damage and focus band for those extra heals when u over commit again he is squishy

@@pretzeledd np 🙂 buddy barrier is one of the best items in the games especially in team fights and end game. Make sure to get it to level 20 level 30 barely gives u any value for buddy barrier

I like to fly and then use Ariel ace So I can use Ult behind them
I think Talonflame Flame charge + Fly is the easiest one to use. It's mobile, travel around the map fast and can't be touched while use Fly.
Among the pokemons, I have trouble using Snorlax, Mamoswine and Crustle is good for me but Snorlax is so hard to use

is pokemon unite Pay 2 Win and even though we wouldn't want to buy stuffs items etc... can we still advanced to the game? i heard 1 youtuber said it about a month ago im so hyped for the release but if it's pay2win then it's disgusting 😭
It's not imo, the difference is actually so tiny and at best, maybe a 1 - 2% difference? I've reached Master using items I didn't pay for! There are many players who have proven you can get to the highest rank without paying. It's pay to speed up maybe a little at the beginning but it won't win you games. imo!
Aslo they give 3 super item enhancers ,not p2w
Putting this at the top- TLDR: Muscle band & focus band bad; Attack Weight+Score Shield+Buddy Barrier as a trio is better. Bravebird is not a singular reset and has other mechanics. While I don't want to rip into everything, as a talonflame player a lot of this guide has good points but also has some errors. I appreciate what Teeds's is doing otherwise and do encourage you to keep it up
Something that is missing from this guide is the mechanics of bravebird and aerial ace. It's not a singular reset. When you hit targets with bravebird, anything hit will have a set of eyes above them as a debuff. When you hit those target(s) with a boosted attack, you will consume one of the eyes debuffs and reset your aerial ace. Therefore, bravebird is very much in flavour with it's name. You need to be a brave bird and dive into multiple enemies at once or hit multiple things so you can aerial ace on landing, boosted auto, aerial ace, boosted auto, for as many available targets as you managed to hit with bravebird.
I agree with flame charge being a deeply medium skill but it's best use is actually with fly. Since you gain a movement speed boost, and upgraded ignores defenses, your real use for it is to flame charge early, wait a moment, fly, drop down, boosted auto, flame charge back out.
Item wise, Muscle band is actually not good on talonflame. You won't spend most of your time auto attacking because of how squishy you are and because you're choosing your engagements (and presumably hitting with your skills proper) your damage scaling from the muscle band's attack damage is not fantastic. Instead, opting for Score Shield and Attack Weight gives your damaging moves greater scaling and score shield has inherent early game strengths in hp and hp recovery by fast scores for fast attack weight stack ups. To put it in perspective, Aerial Ace is 95% (103% for AA+) scaling with your attack damage; bravebird is 230% and fly is 255% (both of which are always that scaling) meaning the more attack stat you stack up, the greater these skills, which are the bread and butter of your kit, are that much more powerful. Muscle Band's value comes from *auto attacking* high hp targets but as talonflame, you won't be attacking high hp targets in the first place. You're flying or bravebirding in on the back line or lower hp and following up with another move or a boosted auto attack. Hence, you gain very little from Muscle Band's passive effect since by the time you're actually autoing, your target (assuming you've hit your skills) should be very low where the muscle band's damage is outshone by just having flat damage. As a result, what you want is Attack Weight and Score Shield, where score shield + buddy barrier have inherent synergy with one another both in early game for having higher hp pool to *get* your scores, and in late where you can flame sweep to cover distance, get a score uninterrupted, and fly/bravebird out if an enemy were to try to contest after.
Why is talonflame hit by blastoise’s unite move while using fly???
Now that I’ve looked the clip over again, I can see that talonflame wasn’t invincible yet, but… why wasn’t it invincible yet?
@@hybreon1806 At the start of the move you are unstoppable not invincible. When he is in the air it counts as invincible. It is sad as I’ve been KO multiple times when I press the move thinking I’m invincible 🥲
@@MrRiversIV yeah…really hope they change that. So many times Pikachu Electro Ball and Zeraora Ult followed me all the way to the sky and kill me.

In many tiers Lucario is placed at S tier along Wigglytuff and Blastoise, but he is really hard to play well. His moves are full of tricks: he has great mobility, has cooldown resets, has assassinates but unlike a speedster like Absol, Talon etc, Lucario cannot simply burst a target with a single use of a move, he is all about combos and sticking close to opponents to dish out that overtime damage. You will need to understand well your combos, how to reset the moves, how to get in and how to get out, and most important, you should not be afraid to stick in prolongued fights cause his passive gives him a shield and he is amazing at running away if you feel you are going to lose the fight.

Wasn't there recently a List of Pokes that can Crit, & Talonflame was not on it...? (Maybe a recent Krashy! Vid...?) So unsure about Scope Lens on Talonflame...
Talonflame can crit with its basic attacks which is what I use it for! That spreadsheet is just for moves but you're mostly using basic attacks on Talon because it has long CD.
He can only crit in basic attacks and his crit rate increases at level 5 and level 9.
