I don't know if you've tried recently, but as of a month or two ago, I was able to successfully load/play Dragon Force II on my old android phone turned emulation machine. Granted, it played like crap, because that phone was a $100 budget phone from 2017, but it did, in fact, load and play correctly. So technically speaking, it seems technically playable, even if the framerate is garbo.
Holding this one vertically looks like a pain. I want one of these emulation consoles with good performance and with a flip feature like the Egret 2 mini. Likely won't happen but a man can dream.

This chipset is a decent upgrade from the rk3326, they should just release it at around the same price as the rk3326 products (when they first releases) instead of upping the price just because it has more ram and a upgraded chipset. The rk3326 devices should be selling in the sub 80 USD range now and this in the sub 100, or max 110 with free shipping.
Anbernic only do Cheapset and top price, I wont be getting one. I love the shape but want more than a 3.5"inch screen and at least a 25% increase in performance.
my rg353p isnt showing GOOGLE CHROME BETA only google chrome and I searched for chrome beta app but nothing. I wanted to play gamepass like u did but cant find no chrome beta. I tried playing gamepass in Google Chrome but it doesnt work. How do i get chrome beta or how can i find another way to play gamepass?
even if i try and download the gamepass app on the android side it wont let me install it, greyed out. somehow you got google chrome beta on ur android side for the rg353p, how?
Something is fishy about this device and its reviews. I would never suggest that phawx is fudging his opinion, this is more across the board. I really do trust him and have been happily following his advice for years... but I just keep seeing nothing but positive reviews everywhere that are extremely (and sometimes uncharacteristically) forgiving of some glaring flaws. Underpowered compared to competition, less sensitive dpad with choppy quadrants, a WHOLE DEAD corner on one of the sticks? And yet reviews from the well known guys are almost universally positive. like, come on... I can't be the only one who is suspicious. It's probably a perfectly fine device, but I expected a lot more "wait for a better iteration or get a RP2+" out of everyone. Other than the shape of the thing, can anyone give me a reason to get this over the RP2+? I really feel like I'm missing something
Maybe better analogs? Idk. I agree, the rp2+ is more powerful. Idk why all these top UA-camrs are recommending them. Maybe it's a paid endorsement. 🤷🏽♂️
I have Anbernic RG350 and had RP2. Even tho i agree that it's really nice to have a more powerful device like RP2 but im much prefer the feeling of RG350 buttons and analog sticks. So i ended up sold my RP2 and bought RG351MP instead just for that reason. But that's just my personal preference, some people might prefer the clicky short travel buttons like RP2 or RP2+
There's a few people reviewing this device, who used to have great reviews for the RG351 devices, but absolutely trashed Anbernic's other devices (552, 503). Which in turn, Anbernic basically blacklisted them. 3 of them for sure have no issues telling it like it is, are happy that Anbernic's latest device isn't a total POS. That's all there is to it, people subjectively like this device.
Dude everything isn't about power. If all you care about is Emulation buy a RP2+, X18S, or maybe an Odin. However Linux-Based Handhelds will always have more staying power. Android is a very disposable platform. Android Handhelds are no different. Plus the RP2+ has horrible ergonomics and is made from recycled Retroid Pocket 2 units.
They are both very nice looking. If I got the black translucent one, I'd probably have to go all out and get the black translucent Miyoo Mini, and the black translucent RG351V, just so I could have variations that looked great together.
This costs 40% more than the Pocket2+, so is actually in the RGB503 price area for comparison. The only real similarity is the screen size. Can't get away from that underpowered RK3566, which is too little of a step up from the RK3326. And that 4:3 screen means no versatility at all unless you are connected to a TV/monitor. Shape wise this does have something that could bee carried forward to a next gen SOC with a wider screen. This is a sub $100 device right now.

Just got mine. It's more comfortable by a lot. Dpad annoys me a bit on nes. The down will move the left and right. Crouching can make you face the wrong way.
How the heck do I open my games through android? I click on the emulators and I just see a bunch of folders nothing for games I have no idea how to open them via android. On the stock system I could open my DS games via android. Then I bought a pre built jelos card from somebody. Now I can't open even the DS games through android much less the other emulators. I had to buy a prebuilt card because I am not text savvy but really wanted this device now I cannot figure out how to hack to play DS games through android via the card I was sent. I just want to play the DS castlevania games on my TV lol. Please for the love of God somebody help me

That D-Pad issue was the same on the GPD Win and the JXD devices - garbage. All these Chinese companies must be using the same parts bin. When are they gonna learn to either use the Vita or Saturn dpads.
The only thing it has over the RP2+ is buttons, touchscreen and dual boot capability. With 20% less in performance and 40% in cost, I don't see anyone who has an RP2+ buying one. But if this is your first retro game handheld and you have $140+ to burn, then good for you. Of course tech reviewers and enthusiast love this device. It's another content they can put out in the ether. But what's worst is the dual boot which they can slave over and make free software for Anbernic. For a multi-million-dollar company, they should have the resources to make a decent software at launch edit: grammar
are they a multi-million dollar company though? i bet anbernic is just one of those companies with offices on higher grounds of shenzhen work buildings where pretty much all the other ones with different brands meet each other in the smoking area. They just got good stuff, but they would be on the radar of the big boys if they really are that successful.
I love Anbernic because they put the anologs on the the bottom and not across from each other like the nintendo switch

While this a good upgrade from their previous devices, Anbernic REALLY needs to upgrade their current chipset.

I'll likely never own an Anbernic product. They all seem to be overpriced and weak. Nothing beats the bang for buck of the Retroid Pocket 2+

GPD is rubbish I dropped my gpd XP from knee height and it spewed one trigger and the analog , can't be fixed.
I had a GPD Win 4, it was a decent d-pad about the same feel as a vita a bit more precise.
