Yt is just showing this to me. I bought that screen protector. At this late date, you may have already seen all the info about it but... Like the other commenter, I can confirm that it offers minimal protection. But mine is still going strong after several months. And it comes with access to some 3D streams of feature films which were never released - probably anywhere, officially. It’s a bit clunky and Josh is working on an app he feels would work better with it but I have no regrets about purchasing mine, even if I don’t use it as much. The cracks I’ve gotten haven’t been too bad. They’re all around the edges and so don’t interfere with movie or photo viewing at all.
Good news about thisTurbine initiative, even though I'm not interested in 3D blu rays from the last 40 years - - only vintage films. The elimination of 2D addition should keep the price down. Interesting info on 3D projectors, too. Even flat-screen owners need to know this in order to reconsider our options if/when our flat-screen packs up before we do. I'm 64. My flat-screen may pack up before I do, which will be frustrating, but look at the alternative.
PS: You are the only person I have found on youtube that I can expect the facts and research of announcing any 3D info. Even when you can't you offer others to comment or make their own video. Thanks Again! - Toronto, Canada.
Always good to see your updates! I have seen on of those 3d billboards I believe is was at picadilly circus but it might have been times square it was very very cool you didn't have to be at a certain angle or anything it had depth and popout so cool
I have or had them both. The 3D screen foil for the iPhone 15 Pro Max worked really well, better than I thought. Its App had eye tracking, the movies I tested it with, showed little to no crosstalk. And in regular 2D mode the foil still did't harm the perceived image quality. That really surprised me. But it turned out that the foil didn't protect the iPhone like a screen protector. It didn't last more than a week or so: My iPhone fell from a small chair, not really high, and the foil instantly cracked. The iPhone is still in perfect state, so nothing dramatic. But I think a normal screen protector would have survived easily. That's why I wouldn't call this a 3D screen "protector". With the Rekindle USB Stick I made exactly the same experiences as you did. The 2LED version is still too weak for holding the device in an apropriate distance, a workaround might be using a small usb cable in between. But the crosstalking issue seems a tough one. Adrian is working on it. If he can solve it, I am looking forward to a really cool and unique solution for watching 3D content on many regular devices.
@@fgerv I bought it from proma3d - go to their website, product, ignore the product tree on the left, concentrate on the products in the middle of the page, scroll down and go to the second page. Now you should find it. (I tried to avoid posting direct links here do to UA-cam banning/filtering it out)
Great video. I remember being blown away by a domestic passive 3D projector set-up I saw several years ago. (This was with a pair of a twin-stacked high-end Sim 2 DLPs using Infitec filters/glasses.) It looked way better than any active projector I'd seen at the time. However, that was several years ago and I'd be interested to see how it compared to a good modern active 3D projector set-up in a side-by-side test, not that that's ever going to happen. And, good point re the 3D Film Archive referring to their 3D Blu-ray releases as being "Polarised". I know that Bob Furmanek *obviously* knows this is incorrect, but I've often wondered why they do it: I assume they just decided that it was the best way to make it clear that it's something other than anaglyph - and maybe to also gently push people to realise that the '50s releases were actually polarised not anaglyph - the common misunderstanding of which is, I think, is one of the 3DFA's little bugbears!
Hey man regarding the tv 120hz stuff we need to talk about my open3doled stuff :) you are just the right person cause you actually understand the nuances. If you ever have time to skype Ide love to discuss how it works and the caveats with different display tech BFI, hdmi/dvi QFT (quick frame transport) are all key to a good quality image with low to no ghosting. I have it working across 3 diff manufacturers so far, but i need more beta testers with diff displays who know the specifics so i dont srnd peopleunits for displays ( tvs that arebasically guaranteed not to work. My lg c1 oled works nearly perfectly. I have 50 beta unit pcbs arriving next week so I could send you a unit if you think your tv might be compatible.
Awesome! Unfortunately I don't have any displays that would help with testing, but I've subscribed to your channel if you post any progress updates in the future.
@@jonathansabinvarietyfilms Thanks man!! :) I'll put a video up soon. I need to find people who might have compatible displays. Can you recommend any places to post? My plan is to make the beta units cheap for anyone who has a TV that looks like it might work, and wants to try. If it doesn't work they can just ship it back and I'll pay them back. I'm going to bundle them with a pair of glasses I've modified the firmware to optimize it for software page flipping to ensure it works as designed. (the modified firmware just ensures that it resynchronizes instantly on dropped frames, many shutter glasses can take 3-10 frames before they resynchronize. If there are any forums you can recommend I post on to get the word out please let me know. I've subscribed to your channel too :)

You’re so connected.
Whenever I find a new resource, you’ve already commented on it. 😅
@westmcgee9320 Ha ha! Jonathan is a long-serving great 3D commentator, up there with the best, Go Find Fun. I wish he did more 3D movie reviews.
I found no references to the “Rocket Phone” on eBay, yet.
It’s spelled Rokit

I would definitely post in the Facebook group 3D Blu-ray Fans Unite, probably the busiest one.
That sounds amazing! 🤩 subbed to petersvideofile as well
