Old school lawyer math. Lawyer 33% doctor 33% and client 33%. However the apps are the lawyer and doctor. And we all know when driver gets a tip the base fare is lowered to the driver.
I passenger wanted me to pick her up but she ordered it for her guy friend! He had a dog and I love animals but not taking a dog an hour away ! you can tell it wasn’t a service song because I had to tell him I’m gonna call that girl to let her know that there is Uber pet or Lyft pet to use ! I don’t mind helping but the ride was an hour on Christmas Day ! That’s a long time and the dog wasn’t even a service dog ! It’s bs ! I got paid under 30 and he promised to tip and nothing ! This is just bull crap
According to Uber and Lyft, it doesn’t matter whether it’s an Uber x or Uber pets. If u deny a ride to someone with a pet and they report u, u will get deactivated. Really not fair.
@AskTorsten the things is Uber / Lyft basicly are your private business. If they ran it the way they sold it to us from the start. It should be a contractors platform. Couldn't tell you how successful a true contractors platform would be in every market. The drive to earn real money at a fair market value will and would throw that platform into the sky's are the limit business model. You underestimate the drive Humans have to excel, that American dream is real even at 5% and app platform would be profitable. Bottomline is the greed is overwhelming.
Interesting how pricing varies. In my area east of Cleveland, Oh uber is getting about 2.25 cents a mile and driver is getting about .075 cents a mile which is 33% of the total fare. Can't survive on that type of money. Good news in my area is that everyone has gone private and has their own private client list. IF you flip on Uber to fill some time the rides are usually non existent except for early morning, late afternoon or late hours on the weekend.
Disgusting companies, all of that driving for almost a hour driver gets only $17.24 what a bunch of thieves these ride-shares companies really are disgraceful , makes anyone throw up.
This Lyft trip is why you don't accept rider changes mid trip. It gives the apps the ability to massively upcharge the passenger while hiding the driver earnings until the end. This driver made $17 for a 28 mile trip, which no sane driver would have accepted if that had been presented as the original trip
HAS THERE EVER BEEN ANY TALK ABOUT MAKING A MINIMUM OF SAY $5.00 OR $10 TO USE UBER OR LYFT EVEN IF IT'S ACROSS THE STREET, WHAT'S UP WITH ALL THESE TWO AND THREE DOLLARS FOR AN HOUR OF MY TIME, DROPPING THEM OFF IN THE MIDDLE OF NOWHERE, THEN DRIVING ALL THE WAY BACK, AND GETTING IN LINE TO WAIT AGAIN, EVEN THE $2 FARE IS GOING TO TAKE AT LEAST AN HOUR, SHOULDN'T THERE BE A BARE MINIMUM OF AT LEAST 5 OR 10 BUCKS ???
When more self-driving cars come out and overflow the ride-share industry, it will cost more per mile due to higher prices to fix self-driving components. I have a self driving vehicle and it costs a lot to diagnose and repair cameras and other components 😢
I think Lyft stealing tips. Look at the passengers rates you on the screen say good driving, clean car ext. and tips. And look at driving screen look under all the passenger rides and count all the passengers give tips for that day. It doesn't add up...
External fees are company deductible operation cost meaning the fees come back to them at the tax end year. So 40% plus 30% of extenal that 70% to lyft and 30% to driver from crude pay from passenger
So disappointed getting $3.70 for rides especially for the holidays us drivers not meeting our bills more difficult when using a rental vehicle for Uber 😢
is there anyway you could give us the average hourly gross and net earnings of drivers on these platforms? I was hoping you would have some of that information here rather than focusing on one specific drive.

As an Uber driver who, in the last 3 months has seen most of the rides take 22 to 25 minutes to pick someone up to only drive them 4 to 7 minutes down the road. I would say that two point seven minute average is a whole lie. I do not take those rides because no one should have to wait twenty 22 twenty five minutes for somebody to come and pick them up and the economy that I work charlotte, north carolina
Lyft, Uber, and Waymo have a few months before they have competition. I expect Tesla Cab to crush them just 3 weeks after launch. Imagine 1,000 Tesla Cabs per city. Charging just $0.50/mile. A 20 mile trip costs just $10. Tesla could charge as little as $0.25/mile but they will not.
@@ishwardatkhemrajh6154 I’m sure they have not thought about that yet. Will be an issue for airport rides unless the trunk is automatically opened and closed
Companies do not obey laws. If the Gov wants them to pay tickets, they need to submit the tickets to legal. Then legal will show a case of harrassment and counter sue. Then the company will pay 1/1000th of the original fines.
Everytime you do the numbers I feel embarrassed sorta like you going over the film of all drivers being bent over and #%##@. I think it's criminal. Especially since per hour online would drop way down below poverty wages if we were to honestly calculate that. How they feel good about this is unbelievable. But my guess it is mainly due to needy folks who'll drop their pants at the sound of new rideshare ping.
Lyft can’t even get the gps correct on the app and that counts against us !
Why hasn’t Lyft or Uber give us a Christmas bonus or card it’s so rude
Because they don’t care about drivers
Or at the very least a bottle of lube!
Because it costs money and takes away from investor profit for shareholders. Nothing for the driver slaves
Easy…WE’RE NOT EMPLOYEES
😂 Because Uber employees are GenX spoiled brats
Whenever there's a surge Uber just cuts base rate to lowest possible.

Now the only thing your country must do is Copy ONDC service from India to put these companies in check ✅

Lyft driver can't do open heart surgery if needed.

Yes, but some days I’d be really happy to make 17 an hour flat rate
This is the reason my home country India, launched ONDC Service to Keep companies like these in Check 😅

I texted Lyft and Uber and asked them how they are paying per mile. No answer. They are a scam!!
80% of rides are declined because both companies don’t pay even $1.00 for trips over 4 or 5 miles in DC Metro area.

Look more closely at the screenshot. The upfront fare of $17 was based on less than 10 miles. The passenger modified the ride and became 29 miles.
