This is the real gem of an interview. What Simi Garewal did in her show can never be matched by anyone. In the day and age of frivolous and petty “talk shows” led by privileged individuals would never know how to express the grace, gratitude, confidence yet demure candor like Simi did. As a resident in the US, I am often asked about the women’s situation in India. My answer to that is India does have those issues and some of the issues are global. But, we also have extremely strong female leaders in every walks of life. In the examples of such people, Simi’s name is always almost at the top. I was showing this episode to my boyfriend, who is a Caucasian American, recently and he couldn’t stop complimenting Simi. Of course HRH Rajmata Gayatri Devi did also receive some praise. I really hope that this show is revived and picked by leading networks in India and bring the talented and super chic Simi out on the world platform interviewing dignitaries. She is THE IDOL our world and our country needs. The real representation of Royal, Regal, Independent, free and educated India! Thank you for bringing joy to all of us Simiji!
Rajmata's first line about value system stands good even in 2020. This show is a breath of fresh air after being bombarded with chat shows by jokers who have no substance to discuss. I wish this is telecast all over again on Star World. Someone like only Simi can match up to interview powerful personalities. Enough of intervening bollywood entertainers, that's what they are, not our real heros and heroines. We don't want to know who is going around with whom, who is waking up in whose bedroom, Who is ranking whom. Such a beautiful show without any rapid fires, without any hampers. That's exactly why there is lack of values today. Come back Simi ji please
I admire her so much. She lost her husband, she lost her son and almost all of her relatives and still she went on and on as she said. She is one of the most brave women I have ever known. I wish there were more women like her. She is long gone and I still miss her.
My day is made.... She is an epitome of beauty and brains... I don't think the era will ever come back... The era of truth the era of honesty, the era of royalness, Simi is such a beautiful anchor.... It's a combination of the best things India has witnessed. We need to save our nation, we need to learn from our mistakes, we need to live like an example to the rest of the world... Long live 🇮🇳.
What Simi Garewal has managed to do with the Indian talk show culture , their has never been a bar set so high . I’ve personally admired Madame Garewal for her persona and Grace . She’s frankly been my only Idol and I hope to meet her some day !! One hopes that she returns back to television soon . Showcase India what it’s been missing for over a decade . Much love .
Rajmata Gaytari devi, was a epitome of beauty, grace, royalty ,respect & humility.we new generation should learn from her.May God exalted her in Paradise Ameen
I came across this great, precious "rendezvous". I am overwhelmed by the so forthright, honest, matter of fact expressions of Maharani. Facts, views on the bygone era is so nostalgic to recall. My grandmother was nearly of the age of Maharani and she too was beauty, grace, dignity, large heartedness, socially oriented kindness embodiment. The contents of this video almost is corroborated by my grandmother in various discussions in different contexts with me. She too left this world in the year 1998. I am blessed to have experienced part of that era in my childhood years during the 1960s and 1970s. It is difficult to even comprehend that such an era, such great people, value systems existed at all.
@ Infinite king, as a person also she was many levels above titanic movie character. Why do we fail to simply praise our people directly rather than comparing them with phoren is a mystery.
@@Prabhu_Desai I am not talking about Maharani's character. the way, the manner Rose was telling about all the incidents after so many decades at a very old age is similar. Hope u get it..
I have seen alot of episodes of this series ....but this one indeed is the best of all...I literly had tears in my eyes when she was speaking about her husband and family .....fate had been really cruel to her ...first rajmata g lost her husband and then her only child....still she lived her life so gracefully So much love ,compassion It was truly a blessing to watch this episode ...thankyou simi mam for this lovely interview
This is one of my favorite interviews . Gaitri Devi was a women of substance. Her grace, poise, humor is remarkable. Despite all what has happened to her she never spoke a single word against anyone. Her journey has been remarkable. And way she rejoice every part of it even the bad times and shows gratitude towards it, is what one should learn from her. And also Simi Garewal was great interviewer.
What attracts me to simi's show is that she is always courteous to the other person, and lets them speak without cutting them off. Her questions are meaningful, which is sadly what we have lost in todays era
My God! What grace...what sophistication...what charm. Simi herself is no less. I have been watching this show for all my life. actually all shows..movies...that Simi does. This woman has class!!! She is my role model truly. Listening to Rajmata just broke my heart. She went through so much and still had such dignity. Sadly...end of an era! How can we ensue jaipur doesn't fall apart amidst this crazy and greedy political chaos...:(
Obviously coming from royal back ground in the era of British Raj India...she was the epitome of grace and beauty which current generation doesn’t understand.....that’s what India was at its peak ...
What a beautiful interview. It was like a documentary on her whole life. The way you unfolded her story I could not stop watching. Two beautiful, elegant ladies talking - what class!. THIS IS PURE GOLD. Please come back with more shows Simi-ji. No one can do what you do.
One of the best interviews I have seen.Simi Garewal must be congratulated on the judicious choice of questions. She was able to capture the entire life of Gayatri Devi.
I couldn't get enough of that elegance and that poise ; she kept till her last breath. Her love for her motherland was out of the world. A loving wife, mother, a true representative of her people; Madam Gaytari Ayesha Devi, Rest in Peace. Rest in High Heavens. Love from Pakistan.
She was an Era of innocence, learning, bravery, kindness, Revolution, Love for her People, True Patriot and so on. I'm spellbound with her interview. Simiji you have shown us the Best Always.. Maharaniji will be always remembered ❤️ As you have said, Legend Remains...
Raj mata is a complete definition of dignity, royalty & aesthetics.what a beautiful sympathetic & graceful woman she was.I have a great respect for her.RIP
Wow, the two lady who knows how to talk with people.. Omg the way they are talking is mesmerizing... Real role model of Indian lady... Raj mata still looking like real princess👸..
This was the best Rendezvous I’ve seen. Rajmata, an epitome of grace and beauty, being interviewed by another graceful and beautiful woman, Simi. It made me emotional so many times and the end had me in tears. Thank you, Simi, for this masterpiece!
what an episode. Rajmata spoke so well and carried herself so well unlike today's actresses who spend half of the time laughing for no reason and setting their hair every now and then.
I'm 21 and have been watching your show ma'am since last year when I got to know about it. Though I could have finished watching all in one go, I choose not to. I prefer coming to these interviews and your show, only when today's times and world appear to me very shallow and meaningless one more time. If not for you and your show, I don't think I would have ever known true elegance, sophistication, grace, beauty, womanhood and feminity- qualities, becoming extinct now. It would have been extremely difficult to know you, without meeting you in person, if you would have put up some facade. But the truth is the honesty, patience, stability and integrity with which you conducted all these interviews, have made me meet the real you already. I wish you another One- Hundred years of a prosperous life, a thousand smiles, and a peaceful endless journey. Thank You once again for doing this. I'm only 21 but would make sure my future daughter learns and educates herself about... Through your show. Have a wonderful time ahead.... Youths of today really need to learn the rich heritage that India truly is. What a wonderful interview, really leaves you in awe. Vintage at it’s best.
Look at this Rajput Maharani 's eyes ...so gracious , so confident of herself and so beautiful to look at . Had seen so much of hardships ( the worst is seeing her own young son's death) and still holds herself so strong. At this old age she still has so beautiful smile and twinkling in her eyes. She loved and admired her brother and husband. Rajmata just gives a glimpse of How other famous Rajput Maharanis Meerabhai , Maharani Padmini ,Maharani Durgawati might have appeared in person .
This episode exudes grace and elegance. I wish the Indian television system had more shows like these, instead of the likes of many which promote the idea that elegance is a thing of the past.
Simi ji, rendezvous is a beautiful and precious gift for today's generation. This actually gives us an idea of how were the lives of people then. You've established a milestone in India's television era! Thanks a ton!
when we think of class and elegance we always turn west and look at ladies like Grace kelly,Audrey Hepburn, Julie Andrews. what we seem to have forgotten is that in our very own country we have this lady who can outshines them all. An epitome of regal and grace. what class what diction. I'm spellbound by the way she carried herself. A true Rani indeed. this woman needs to be celebrated and be up there among the greatest
This is one of the most fantastic interview with two of most beautiful and charming ladies that India will ever have.It is a shame that the Privy purses were abolished and we lost the real maharajas and replaced them with fake and corrupt politicians and officials .
Both the ladies are graceful. Naman to Gayatri Devi Ji..She is the most beautiful And intelligent Indian women who is the role model of every other Indian woman
She is such an inspiration. Most beautiful lady with a brave heart. I have started hating Mrs. Indira Gandhi even more after watching this. And this is my first comment on UA-cam after using it for more than 6 years now. Could not resist her innocence and humble nature. Respect 🙏🏻
Nobody’s interviewed Rajmata Gayatri Devi quite like Simi Garewal, I’m so glad that she called her for this beautiful Rendezvous! This was recorded the year that I was born. Rajmata Gayatri Devi was a good friend of my great grandparents who visited them in Jaipur many times and in London. Rajmata instantly became my role model too once I saw this. I’ve watched this interview so many times and it continues to inspire me. I so wish that this show had continued. Nobody’s doing such interviews these days. Class is gone :(. Thankyou SimiJi! :) Regards
"I don't think I have yet healed." What helps you heal? "Time". Most will resonate with what she said. I hope time heals our wounds and our country. May we emerge like what the leaders dreamt of and beyond. May we work hard towards it like She said.
Damn... The first statement was spot on 👏 and Do not forget her mother was the only daughter of Late Maharaj Sayajiraje Gaikwad.... Maratha Warrior.... 🙏
I read her book ....a princess remembers ....what a book...i can understand what she might be meaning when she says India is not like that anymore....thanks for bringing up the interview just revisited her book again ....!!
Unparalleled personality ,So refined, balanced compassionate graceful.. and what not....She was the most deserving person for the honour granted to her by govt.Feel like watching her again and again.
Wow, what a personality and the love she had for her people is beyond extraordinary. Such a dignified woman who carried herself with such grace. Thank you Simi ma'am for bringing out this beautiful conversation to us. I could learn so much about the early developments of our nation. I couldn't agree more when her highness was talking how the values and morals are decaying in our bones. Her love for India and people is so inspiring. The most beautiful moments are those when you let your guests get lost in their thoughts and let them speak their mind. We really could look into their souls. In a world of shouting and screaming interviewers, you are a role model. Please continue bringing us these fulfilling conversations. Thank you again from the bottom of my heart.
As someone who interacted with her briefly in school in MGD, what struck you about the Rajmata was how genuine she was. She didn't try to deny or evade the privilege she was born into, but at the same time she didn't behave like it made her better than anyone else. She asked me what I wanted to pursue after school and I told her it would either be journalism or environmental science. She was so fascinated and curious and we ended up having a conversation about the two career choices, and she was truly engaged and thrilled that a girl from her school had these options in life that she had never even imagined. She was elegance personified because she was completely comfortable with who she was. There was no pretence about her.
Simi ji , this interview is gold. Thanks to you we are able to see and listen to one of the most beautiful women ,who is very last of the Royals. I am really glad to get a glimpse of the India before and after partition. She is mesmerizing. I couldn't take my eyes off her.
Simi ji, watching this interview makes me realise what the younger generation is missing- simplicity and purpose. Your episodes continue to entertain me. Rajmata ji seems so real and honest. So good to hear that his highness encouraged her fully. She was really lucky. Such people are eternal. Thanks for sharing this episode in full.
Please re start your show Simi Mam!! You're so classy and simple and your questions are genuine and thought provoking! A sincere request (and Im sure a lot of people will agree!). :)
The experience of listening to this interview was magical; as if you are listening to a piece of melodious music and visualizing at the same time! And those lines spoken by the Late Rajmata touches the heart so deeply; so profoundly "Home is the person who you go back to !"
One of of the best ‘rendezvous’ interview with vivid reflection of India through the eyes of HH Gyatri....Simi should revive the program which was extremely popular as it still has many fans all over the world.....
Simi mam, its absolutely marvellous to see 2 amazing ladies having a beautiful conversation. This is one of the best episode. She is so charming yet so humble. N mam, your show and each and every interview you have taken will always remain in our heart. Thank you for sharing it...

This is what we call an amalgamation of class, integrity, elegance and poise. It’s an absolute treat to hear her highness 😇thank you Simi ma’am for this wonderful rendezvous.
Generally I don't comment on UA-cam as everything in social media has 'multiple meanings'. But watching this, honestly, I am crying. I am not a person with any interest in politics but today realizing how dirty it could be. I mean I already know how bad the state of this world today is, but if that could happen to such a fine person, the queen herself, I am speechless Simi Ji. I wanna say alot but no words. Everyone is looking for self advantage, very true. I would sum up with,"We need more Gayatri Devis and no more Indira Gandhis." (One last thing to add I am hardcore fan of your work, grace and the way you give words to the emotions and feelings)
This one interview has more class than the whole of local media put together. Peace and respect to all, but I wasn't exaggerating, Thank you Simi ma'am! Love from Sri Lanka! ps: so proud to have Gayatri as my first name!

This is my favourite episode, and I must have watched it over 50 times, at least! Maharani Gayatri Devi is the epitome of grace, charm and beauty! Simi ji herself is very elegant and dignified.

The Screen Perfection (Ms. Simi Grewal) meets another Legendry Perfection (HRH Rajmata Sahib of Jaipur) !! WOW ! This series was the best chat show ever....not like like the prying & inquisitive ones of today's. I have this clip in my collection for posterity. Particularly so, as it was a honour for me to have known & served Rajmata Sahib, personally.
As graceful or beautiful as Gayatri Devi was and may her soul rest in peace, her nostalgia and hankering for the 'lost traditions' needs to be called out. Like the British monarchy, she represents an age of tyranny and opression. Let's not forget that for hundreds of years, our nation was crippled not only under the tyranny of the British Raj but was also betrayed by the 'polo playing' Indian Princes who owed their allegiance to the Empire instead of the country. Purdah system...polygyny...feudalism aren't 'traditions' we need to mourn but disavow. No country is perfect and democracy always comes at a heavy price but given where the British and the Indian Princely States had left us on the eve of 15th August 1947, I think we've done a splending job of being a thriving democracy and we should be proud of it.
One suave and gracious woman interviewing another suave, gracious woman known for her beauty and charm.Result is you want to watch vdo often.Princess was known for hercharming beauty and also for her steel of nerves and never say die attitude. I am watching this vdo despite reading her autobiography. I feel sorry as she was deserted by her son in her last days.
Thank you for your comment and appreciation. We have to correct you that Maharani Gayatri Devi was NOT 'deserted by her son in her last few days'. If you saw the full episode you will know that she had only one son Prince Jagat Singh who died in 1998. 11 years before Maharani sahib died at age 90. So your presumption is not based on fact. We hope you will watch the full episode till the end. Thank you for your interest in our channel. Regards, SimiGarewalOfficial Team
I fully agree with EACH word of yours.Such natural grace, beauty and intelligence are hard to come by these days! Though princes/princesses had led an opulent life in their palaces, they NEVER neglected their subjects and that is for sure, unlike today!

Wonderful book. After reading I feel like people of India & royals of princely states, both were cheated by the new breed of politicians in free India.
A few royals are truly Royal.. Rajmata was doubtlessly an exception. It’s a shame that the then ruling party played so very dirty to jail such a noble couple in a horribly distressing situation for 6 months. i second this...she ..Simi..should be brought back..if she wishes...she is the rockstar in India! ..no one like her or even near to her!
No offense to anyone, but women like RajMata and Simi are a rare breed nowadays. Such Grace, such poise and of course Beauty with a Purpose.
True
Correct. Not like bollywood where everyone is wearing same make up and consider themselves as beautiful
Agreed!
💯
Because there are no gentlemen anymore
What a woman!! She made me laugh, she made me cry. She made me so proud to be an Indian woman.
Rajmata g 🙏🏼 full of life person ❤🌹❤
Much love .
She was a wonderful lady
Hello
1¹?
Well you can watch this or koffee with Karan 😱 I really like watching her too and her show was one of my favorites!
Shes a white wannabe
Rajmata Gaytari devi, was a epitome of beauty, grace, royalty ,respect & humility.we new generation should learn from her.May God exalted her in Paradise Ameen
"Home is really a person whom you go back to." How true!
Hearing her is just like watching Titanic movie.... ❤❤❤
Infinite King
I was about to say that.
She is such an elegant lady
And elequent speaker.
@@archanathakur9743 yes, undoubtedly
@ Infinite king, as a person also she was many levels above titanic movie character. Why do we fail to simply praise our people directly rather than comparing them with phoren is a mystery.
@@Prabhu_Desai I am not talking about Maharani's character. the way, the manner Rose was telling about all the incidents after so many decades at a very old age is similar. Hope u get it..
I was thought same.
Perfect English. Perfect values. Perfect human being. God bless her soul.
I have seen alot of episodes of this series ....but this one indeed is the best of all...I literly had tears in my eyes when she was speaking about her husband and family .....fate had been really cruel to her ...first rajmata g lost her husband and then her only child....still she lived her life so gracefully
So much love ,compassion
It was truly a blessing to watch this episode ...thankyou simi mam for this lovely interview
How can we ensue jaipur doesn't fall apart amidst this crazy and greedy political chaos...:(
Nidhi Sharma very true
Grace and elegance personified in her and in the show itself
I can’t think of an another interviewer who is as graceful and eloquent as Simiji! Oh, how I miss Rendezvous, I hope it comes back.
A web series should be made on Gayatri Devi’s life like The Crown..
Lol I just watch the fagan episode on the crow , very good suggestion.

This was the best Rendezvous I’ve seen. Rajmata, an epitome of grace and beauty, being interviewed by another graceful and beautiful woman, Simi. It made me emotional so many times and the end had me in tears. Thank you, Simi, for this masterpiece!
No it wasn’t.
"Home is really a person you go back to" ❤ I'm in awe of these two elegant ladies ❤ graceful and so inspiring.
what an episode.
(Would have loved to express more, but; what else do I say?...)
I could not hope for a sweeter message! Thank you for every word you have written - and every thought of me. I am truly touched. Sending you love - and my best wishes for a future of excellence and happiness. Personally yours, Simi

Simi ji, rendezvous is a beautiful and precious gift for today's generation. This actually gives us an idea of how were the lives of people then. You've established a milestone in India's television era!
Thanks a ton!
Thank you for YOUR sweet words of appreciation! love, Simi
I find this Simi woman such a sweet talking phoney 🙄
when we think of class and elegance we always turn west and look at ladies like Grace kelly,Audrey Hepburn, Julie Andrews. what we seem to have forgotten is that in our very own country we have this lady who can outshines them all.
2 women talking with grace,elegance calmly..such a sweet video...
Definitely best thing I watched on UA-cam till today...
Respect 🙏🏻
👍👍👍
Nobody’s interviewed Rajmata Gayatri Devi quite like Simi Garewal, I’m so glad that she called her for this beautiful Rendezvous! This was recorded the year that I was born. Rajmata Gayatri Devi was a good friend of my great grandparents who visited them in Jaipur many times and in London. Rajmata instantly became my role model too once I saw this. I’ve watched this interview so many times and it continues to inspire me. I so wish that this show had continued. Nobody’s doing such interviews these days. Class is gone :(. Thankyou SimiJi! :)

I’ll never tire of hearing Simi talk! Such eloquence! Such class! You don’t find such women anymore.
Everything about Simi is fake - down to her plastic smile and fake accent.
I read her book ....a princess remembers ....what a book...i can understand what she might be meaning when she says India is not like that anymore....thanks for bringing up the interview just revisited her book again ....!!
She is a true soul...a true embodiment of beauty, compassion, power and grace
Yes , U said it perfectly.. "Home is really a person whom you go back to"
As someone who interacted with her briefly in school in MGD, what struck you about the Rajmata was how genuine she was.
Pls chk my video on her style ua-cam.com/video/yjU9UGSMZq8/v-deo.html
Beautiful conversation.. Loved it ..two of the most classy women India has ever seen!

There are only a few people who are beautiful inside as well as outside. Maharani Gayatri Devi was a rare few of them.
Such a strong personality to admire and follow. Loss of privy purse, emergency and political instability, she came a long way. Biggest inspiration❤️❤️
One of of the best ‘rendezvous’ interview with vivid reflection of India through the eyes of HH Gyatri....Simi should revive the program which was extremely popular as it still has many fans all over the world.....

I would sum up with,"We need more Gayatri Devis and no more Indira Gandhis."
(One last thing to add I am hardcore fan of your work, grace and the way you give words to the emotions and feelings)
Her eyes smiles when she speaks about love of her life. God bless her soul 🙏
This one interview has more class than the whole of local media put together. Peace and respect to all, but I wasn't exaggerating, Thank you Simi ma'am! Love from Sri Lanka!

How
I am from Coochbehar. It is very beautiful to see the house of Gayatri Devi and our palace of Cooch Behar.
