Thank you for your story about Rajmata Gayatri Devi. So many years after her death and also that of her husband HH Maharaja Sawai Man Singh I am fascinated with their lives. Things were so much better in those days. They looked after their people and not like the Government now. They cared about the people of India and not about their own pockets. Not even that, here we also have 500 yr old Durga puja happening every year (started by Maharajas of Cooch Behar) till now .Bdw an advice don't say Tagore...say Thakur (actual surname,later Britishers pronounced it incorrectly as Tagore)
As different languages are there in India, we can't pronounce it properly.. like, you can't pronounce Tamil ( Thamizh) words properly... So better don't see the pronunciation fault. We can say however British PPL had fixed the spelling as we don't know ur language. Okay.

I'm from the district (former a princely state) where Gayetri Devi was the princess (Cooch Behar).Our elders always told us about her stories. Not even that, here we also have 500 yr old Durga puja happening every year (started by Maharajas of Cooch Behar) till now .Bdw an advice don't say Tagore...say Thakur (actual surname,later Britishers pronounced it incorrectly as Tagore)
She was third wife of an older man
As different languages are there in India, we can't pronounce it properly.. like, you can't pronounce Tamil ( Thamizh) words properly... So better don't see the pronunciation fault. We can say however British PPL had fixed the spelling as we don't know ur language. Okay.

I'm completely aware that Tamil ppl don't understand bengali...& vice versa but the practical thing is 'Thakur' can be pronounced by any Indian..if not then we should start to develop habits of knowing each others's (languages) things instead of choosing Britishers'.Hope purpose is clear to you.🙂
