Casa Bonita August 2023

Today I visit Casa Bonita, the mexican restaurant / amusement park made famous by South Park, recently purchased and renovated by the South Park creators Trey Parker and Matt Stone. It's right down the street from my house and we got early access invitations before it's open to the public, so here's my first time in Casa Bonita!

This brought back a whole lot of awesome childhood memories for me. As an adult I've only visited once, 20 years ago. Hopefully the food will be half as good as the entertainment. Thanks klesh!

Man I am so happy to see it back in operation, I lived in Denver metro for 20 years and can't tell you how many times I took my daughter there. It was kind of a rite of passage for kids there to go see the cliff divers and eat sopapillas.

There’s no way they plan on making that $40 million, all back. Restaurants operate on razor thin margins, you can tell this was done out of a labor of love and not motivated by profit

For Trey Parker and Matt Stone it’s not about making money on it. It’s about preserving not only their childhood memories, but a Colorado icon and historical landmark.
