I went to Expo '67 when I was 12 with my family from Texas. It was a pivotal destination and event in my life. I have written two songs about the time and place. I remember the first computer I ever saw and the first synthesizer (electronic) music I ever heard. I like this soundtrack but the footage is the remarkable thing. It really takes me back. Thanks for posting this here.
I was 3 when it opened, my folks went to see it right then and there. Of course not much memories but I did have some flash imaged of that first visit. But we went back a few tines over the years, till "74". Though it was over, it was still quite beautiful. Till they started taking the pavilions down! Great memories! :)
Visited Expo 67 as a child, and it made a vivid impression. The architecture was like the set of a science fiction movie. I especially remember the Labyrinthe, with banks of mirrors above, beside and below the gangway, making its dramatic shadowy interior seem infinite. There was so much talent, imagination and, yes, genius at that extraordinary world's fair, one of the highpoints of the 20th century.
The soundrtack is fantastic. World's Fairs are about love and understaring other cultures and other people. Expo 67 blew my mind. I loved what I learned and still think about it today. When's the next Worid's Fair? Where? When will we understand again rather than hate and kill? The music tells this sad story. Thank you LuisAlbright for the incredibly perceptive video. If you go to another World's Fair, I hope you can send some songs of love. Peace, my friend.
@NickFallsFromTheRoof i cycle over there all the time in the summer..great place to relax and hang out..i live near the Jacques Cartier Bridge and cycle and/ or walk over the bridge to the park as much I can ..love it over there...looks pretty darn different now compared to what is was back during Expo 67..wish more pavillions were still around..and that train tram would be great..
@ShaqFlims It is, in a way. It's not the expo 67. the big bubble of metal is the US building, wich is now a museum of Global warming and eco-systems. the building you can see at 2:08 (france)is now a casino. It's not in montreal, it's a seperated island, in the river st-lawrence wich is just by montreal. it's now more of a natural park, you can go pick-nick in huge green areas, but there is a 6 flag amusement park and the Canada F1 and montreal nascar is held there aswell.
I'm not sure they go all-out for the World's Fairs they way they did back then. Seems to me there was a lot more money to do things like that back then. I was just a kid, but I remember Expo67, Montreal and the greatest year of all in Canada, our Centennial. Boom times all around. It all went downhill after that, Turdo got elected, FLQ, recessions, debt, etc.
Hi Louis - This is a wonderful compilation. I am putting together a tribute video for a woman's 90th birthday. In it, her daughter shares recollections from their visit together to Expo 67. Do you think I could use 10-15 seconds of your footage, and provide you with credit for it? It's the best I've seen from a private collection.

Certainly. Let me know how it turns out. Thanks!
Much appreciated! It will be several weeks before I get it all pieced together but I'd be happy to show you the results.
I was there in July 67 and I don't remember this depressing shitty music playing.
What a disturbing music score...... How about a score in a happy, peppy MAJOR KEY. I feel like something BAD is about to occur!!!!
Corporateria pluckily psyopping..!
I hate both happy and peppy. Peppy in particular.
Thank you!
