In a world where mike leach is no longer with us, im grateful that mcdaniel can continue the legacy of being an entertaining character in the world of football.
I think it’s a big result of how he treats his players. He seems down to earth, smart, and funny, and he interacts with them like friends. It seems he has their respect and vice versa
“I used to make it from game day to almost Wednesday without showering” Haha funny joke *shows him when he was with the 49ers* Oh shit he wasn’t joking

I really believe that this is a brilliant character he has crafted to deal with everything that is outside what he wants to do. It’s gently sarcastic, perfect for media in todays game. It’s as if the “nerd” was popular in his school so charisma and confidence came with it. It’s kinda like when Jim Carrey talks about himself during his film career as though that was a character. I think the same thing applies here
Mike is the kid that played madden but it actually translated to real life.
He actually did play division 1 football though
That’s exactly what I thought

D1 Wide Receiver for Yale but ok
He does seem like some dude who got the job by being the world champion of madden, but in a good way
