this is great! How would I add bounce to the first animation, so that the letters land lower than the starting spot and then settle back up into the starting position?

Text has become fun to work with at last ! It has always been the part of blender I didn't like working with because of the bad mesh, always had to remesh it before you could do anything with it.

P.S I presume this can be done in 3.4 ?

Yes Text was always some kind of udereated. Although it's not so bad.
This can also be done in 3.2 ;)
