I work in lorain and had to learn how to make my own. So here I am. So many people I’ve worked with over the years have shared these with me. I had some this morning that forced my hand at learning.😅
Finally, a recipe where it all comes together on stove top, not a slow cooker! Can you give me an idea where to purchase an olla like yours online and the technical name for them, if possible?
Mari, did you stretch out the discs to thin them out a bit? I had used the Goya brand a few years back and thought the dough was to thick. They weren't coning out flaky like our normal empanadillas. I got discouraged and didn't do them again. Those look delicious. Yummm.
Thank you for the recipe Mari! I am a new sub in Germany. If you also have an Empanada disc recipe? and beautiful verse.. Blessings - My mind holds only what I think with God. - A Course in Miracles 🥰🙏
@@mariscookingpr you're welcome and thank you for all your posts I'm my own so I can use any bit of help on cooking ideas and what not. Have a great day Mari 🙂✌
Because Puerto Rican Pastelillos (empanadas) original method does not call for eggs or egg wash - a bit of tomato paste can be used if the person making empanadas wants a bit more consistency vs runny. Is a matter of preference.
A cauldron or caldron is caldero in Spanish. I love my set. Easy to cook in and easy to clean. Last longer than most cookware. I have one from my grandmother's kitchen.
I made the beef ones...thanks for the chicken filling!

Why not use egg wash as a binder?
I want it to be nice and saucy!

They go by: empanada/empanadilla/pastelillo - discs/dough!
