"I don't understand why people don't report a missing loved one" The sad truth is that a lot of people are estranged from their families. They leave on bad terms and those relatives don't care about them anymore and vice versa. Sometimes those families assume the one who was murdered just started a new life somewhere and have no idea what really happened to the victim.
Honestly, I was more shocked when the vehicle passed than from the murder and ghost stories. I thought for sure it was abandoned. Excellent content, as always. Thanks!
I thought for sure too, so I looked it up, but it's because it's kind of a weird construction. There's essentially three "tunnels", but only one is and has ever been used for traffic. Of the other two, one carries the creek, and the other is for overflow, apparently. But either way, they were only ever meant for water flow. It fooled me for sure because of how intricate they were built with the brick ceilings and everything, they sure look like they would've carried something other than water flow at some point in history. I suppose, as always, they don't quite make things like they used to.
I hope one of these DNA groups will be able to help identify her. Based on all of the clothes that were found with both parts of her body, I wonder if she was traveling with the suitcase. I hope she gets her identity back.

Busy tunnel, I think some reflective tape or florescent shirts might be necessary for that. Drivers are not slowing down for their own safety let alone for yours. Spooky though, thanks for the tour.
I visited these tunnels once, many years ago with my sister and her dog. We went there after dark with plans to spend the night. We used our flashlights to navigate through the middle tunnel. Once inside we turned off our flashlights and sat there in the dark passing a joint around. No bad vibes, I didn’t really feel creeped out or anything it was actually quite peaceful. We sat there quietly for about 30 minutes when we started hearing voices and saw people with flashlights coming down the tunnel toward us. My sister’s dog started going nuts, barking aggressively at the strangers. I got scared cause I thought it was the cops at first but it turned out to be just a group of teenagers looking for the ghost. Then one of them pulled out a ouija board. I’ve always been curious about ouija boards so I kinda wanted to stay just to see what would happen but my sister’s dog would just not stop barking. There was just no consoling her so my sister and I made our way back to the car to wait. Not 15 minutes goes by before those teenagers came flying out of those tunnels like bats outta hell. They all looked pretty freaked out. As they were jumping into their car to leave, one of them said they saw a humanoid creature with a dog face climbing up the wall in there. As soon as they left my sister and I broke out some whiskey and were just about to take some swigs and go back in the tunnel to look for the demon those kids summoned. Unfortunately right in that moment a cop pulled up behind us and told us we weren’t allowed to park there overnight. The cop let us off with a warning and I thanked my lucky stars he hadn’t caught us drinking the whiskey. So yeah..that was my experience at the haunted tunnels.
When you & Jay were at the Downingtown RR trestle I thought of these tunnels. Was watching a true crime YT channel a while ago & they had a woman on who is investigating this case, Suitcase Jane Doe. There are two tunnels for Valley Creek Road, and a single bore tunnel for the creek itself. The ventilation shaft is located between the active Keystone Corridor used by Amtrak and SEPTA trains and the abandoned Philadelphia and Thorndale Branch that provided a low-grade freight bypass around Downingtown, with the western end being between Tracks 2 and 3 of the Keystone Corridor at Thorndale and the eastern end at the Trenton Cutoff in Frazer (near where US Routes 30 and 202 intersect).

Thanks for covering this! All the memories came back to me when I went through these tunnels when I was younger. It must been when I was 10 when I signed up for a camp over in Paradise farms camps in the summer. The camp place was right up the road from the tunnels. The camp was run by a company that my mom worked for. She sent me there because I was young and didn't want me home alone. I remember going in the pitched black tunnels in our school bus. There was barely any traffic around and I always had a weird feeling about the area. In all my life going to places, that has to be the weirdest area I have been to. This tunnel reminds me of an old railway tunnel in southern Ohio call Moonville tunnel that closed down in the 1970s and the tracks were also removed. There was a small village near the tunnel that became abandoned many, many years ago, and there is no trace of the town at all now. The tunnel has been claimed to be haunted by a young girl that was struck by a train while she was in the tunnel. There also a cemetery nearby that holds the graves of many Moonville residents dating way back. If you haven't done so yet, you should really check the tunnel out. The tunnel is very close to Lake Hope.

Good to see in my backyard again MI. I am guilty of flying through these tunnels as well when I go through them. Before the tunnels were built, I am pretty sure there was a long bridge there. Downingtown Historical Society had a picture of it in one of their newsletters about 2 years ago. The rail bed that went over the Downingtown High Bridge from your previous video, I believe went over these tunnels as well. It was cool to see that gap from up above. I always wanted to see it from that perspective. I mentioned in your last video, that three is a trail at the base of the trestle bridge that follows an old trolley line. There are some neat ruins back there. Old bridge abutments , farm buildings, some kind of old spa attraction. Also, jn the other side of town is another trail route that follows an old railroad right of way. There's an old dam, and some really old mill foundations. There were a lot ifvmills in Downingtown. It used to be called Milltown. Keep up the great videos.
Just like the folklore of “ Midnight Mary” who supposedly was killed in a car wreck during the 30’s, at Fairless Hills,Pa. Truckers have seen her floating on Van Sciver Lake, at night, in a white dress, you know, the standard she was killed on her Prom Night, yardages, etc. I found something about her on the internet, but now I cannot find anything about her! I made a delivery to a home in Tullytown, asked the residents about, some people heard about it, some didn’t. I was a trucker, and have been on Bordentown road @ night, it’s a very creepy place at night, lemme know if you can find anything about this, I’m in Philly BTW.

Wow, interesting story. I thought at first it was an abandoned tunnel. Then when I heard the cars whooshing by I knew it's still in use. Maybe they drive thru it so fast bc it is haunted & they don't want to find out. Sad about the girl in the suitcase. Hope they can solve the case. I’m from the area which is basically downingtown where you were at..it’s definitely a popular place that gets talked about..a lot of younger ppl go there late at night and attempt to walk through the tunnel
I was homeless for 3 years in my hometown of Las Vegas, and I lived mostly in the flood channels, they are tunnels for directing flood water (even though we only get 4 inches of rain every year, we get unbelievable flash floods, because all the water collects in the middle of the valley; before the tunnels were completed there was a famous photo taken of the Charleston underpass, where the major street Charleston goes under the train tracks, with the flood water only inches under the 14' clearance sign). At first, I lived behind the Excalibur and under Highway 15, in a tunnel that ran for 5 miles underneath the Strip, then I lived close to Mandalay Bay, in a tunnel for the runoff from the irrigation of a golf course. The major cause of Death for tunnel dwellers is eachother, followed by drugs, and then floods. I heard many storys about homeless people stabbing or bludgeoning eachother over practically nothing. Everybody who lived in the tunnels was undeniably and seriously insane, but I guess you'd have to be, to live down there, where it gets so dark we would have to have candles (we couldn't afford to keep batterys in flashlights), there's always a warm draft blowing from deep inside the tunnel, and at night the rats make a surprising amount of noise pushing trash around. When it was going to rain, some guys from Public Works would come down and warn us, because practically every year someone drowns in the tunnels during a flash flood, because they hit so fast and it could be water like 8 feet deep.
I grew up in Downingtown my grandmother lived over on Viaduct ave, we used to hang out in those tunnels back in high school, the legend back in the day was that thats where the Jersey Devil lived and that was who got that girl you were talking about, lots of stories about those old tunnels..
That’s one hell of a creepy tunnel, and one very very sad story which prbly never be solved. It’s sad wen hearing this. As for the lady holding the baby that gave me shivers 😢😢
@@julenepelkey2881 There is a Train tunnel converted to bike path, its in Exeter township and I cant for the life of me think of the name other than the tunnel, its about 1/4 mile or so and it curves so you can not see the light on the other side. The DNR has it fenced off this year. I hope the preserve it. A few died making it and I believe there is some hauntings that go with the tunnel. I once saw a teenager walk up to a pigeon perched on a tree right by the tunnel entrance and he held his finger out the pigeon perched on his finger and he ended up holding it in a cuddle with his hand and it went right back to the perch on the tree after. It was weird for a pigeon in Wisconsin haha. if you search Train tunnel green county it will show up:)
I have rode thru the tunnels numerous times and each time it's the scariest thing you will experience. there so many haunted experiences with these tunnels this video depicts just one. as your coming of the main road you get the feeling of anger sadness and pure evil. you go thru the first tunnel is it feels like ur being watched. you headlights can be on high and they become very low your radio starts to go nuts if u play gangsters paradise. then you come to opening even with your window up you can hear someone crying and screaming. you go into the last tunnel u can clearly see an apparition [I could have spelled that wrong] wondering towards your car. come out at the end of the second part all the paranormal stuff stops turn around at the first left I believe and go thru the tunnel again your car struggles to make it thru the tunnel like someone or something has a hold of your car and u hear 3 loud knocks and hi...... no ones around and your car launches like a bullet thru to the center and going thru the first part you see what looks like a suitcase in the road way you stop to get your met by an evil spirit that stares at you like I dare you to try. better get in your car if you know what's good for you because some people I know who walked out of the tunnels on foot had scratches all over them and said some was saying your gonna be next. you drive thru the first tunnel scared out your mind and when u come out towards the main road you look in your rear view mirror and all you see is the girl who murder crying with blood on her outfit. this happens during the day and at night. oh ya look at the body of your car for dents and scratches that weren't there before you went thru the tunnels that's the girl trying to get to safety. sometimes I heard they said the murder victim means no harm to you unless she is provoked. please if anyone does this adventure take caution and dont have any drinks in the car with u because you will be wearing them by the time you leave. and plz I beg any of u who are parents dont take your kids thru those tunnel they will have nightmares from the experience. great video by the way
The issue of determining identity from fingerprints and especially dental records is having someplace to start. There is no central database of dental records to check with, especially computer catalogs ones so they tend to only check the records of known or suspected missing persons against the body. While there are major databases of fingerprints, usually they only contain criminals or people wo have been arrested at one point or another or someone who was fingerprinted for a job, etc. That leaves the vast majority of people uncatalogued in either area.
And you can't get fingerprints and dental records from everyone and store it in a giant database, sounds like some big privacy and security concerns there. I wouldn't be surprised if there were cold cases like this everywhere in the world. If you know what you're doing, it seems like getting away with murder is pretty easy like in this case. Who knows what happened.
The creek is Valley creek but the town is Downingtown. I remember folk lore of a lady hung between the tunnels and a story of a haunted house on sawmill road about 5 miles west.

Less traffic when we were teens. At night we would go in and roll down windows and turn off headlights.. This was 96-98..... So it got people hearing all kinds of stuff, claiming to see rope hanging and freaking out... To many people around now.
You guys should do a video about what we locals called 'The Gates Of Hell' it actually wasnt that far from Trestle Bridge aka Suicide Bridge just a few miles up 322 on Sawmill rd..
If I was the police in that area I would operate under the possibility that she was a runaway and the suitcase was hers. If they cand estimate the time of death I would work backwards over the previous 72 hours and check bus schedules and when and where busses arrived and go back to points of origins for those busses and check the missing persons reports from those points of origin and stops made between point of origin and destination and I suspect they could find who Jane Doe was.

There's an old dam, and some really old mill foundations. There were a lot ifvmills in Downingtown. It used to be called Milltown. Keep up the great videos.
Not to worry, your imaginary fiend will protect you.
What a cool video, those tunnels are super fascinating. And a very creepy and sad story about the lady.
I'm shocked they couldn't identify the Jane Doe. I hope it is solved soon.
Yea I love your videos. So, great. Ty. Canada here
I love how you get right into the subject. very nice
incredible story my friend unbelievable thank you for sharing 👍 rest in heaven that’s little girl
Great vid , as always. Thanks for your work.
They could run the Jane Doe’s DNA through a DNA ancestry database. There is a good chance she could be identified through familial dna testing. Cases have been solved using this method before.
Wow you’re so smart!!!!!!!!! 🤭
@@MickeysBelt lol right, Like nobody has ever thought of that yet
@@stank1659 😂😂😂😅
She was found out in 2016 hence ya know HER PICTURE STATING SHE WENT UNIDENTIFIED 21 YEARS?!?
Yea I’m yelling cuz you can’t seem notice the obvious clues on pictures 🙄😂
And yea I’m sure if they hadn’t identified her years ago that they’d NEVER have thought of that without your help.
@@deeladee yea and all of you are just as ignorant cuz NONE of you kinda noticed she WAS IDENTIFIED 6 years ago in 2016! 🙄😂
So I wouldn’t mock his lack of intelligence too hard dear.
What a gruesome murder & who is she? Will we ever know! How sad. Ans yes, those tunnels are super creepy😮
Just love this type of content thanks so much for providing it
Sad, she could have been a trafficking victim if there are zero records.
Sup Chris great to see you, those tunnels were built to last ghosts and paranormal stuff are always fascinating and those cars fly though like a bat out of hell.
Sad story. The fact that she was never identified points to the possibility she was either abducted, might of had a dysfunctional home, ran away or simply unwanted. May God grant her eternal peace.
😢🙏🏻The tragedy and sadness lives. That horrific energy has permeated the stones😢
Thanks for this Chris another video with excellent coverage 👍👊🇬🇧🇺🇸
That’s a scary and creepy tunnel I wouldn’t wanna be walking through there at night. I just get chills even thinking about it.
How creepy! Dont think I would like to drive thru those tunnels either. Thanks for sharing this video!
Thank you Chris! ❤️
The lady who was so shunned by the town reminds me of the movie "Town without Pity". Anyone remember it or am I dating my age? Stay safe out there Chris. I also luv seeing you with Lamont doing videos.
didnt get to finish, so now get to watch, while eating, very good channel, good storyteller, thnx, love mysteries
I’m from the area which is basically downingtown where you were at..it’s definitely a popular place that gets talked about..a lot of younger ppl go there late at night and attempt to walk through the tunnel
Just came across your Channel and subscribed. I love this kind of content. So sad she was never identified.
Always enjoy watching your videos, this channel in def one of my most fav.
OMG, I was yelling at you to get away from the edge lol 😂😂
You put in the work. Good job.
Enjoyed your guys stories about those people and those tunnels damn creepy.
i really do want to thank you for this video
Hope you're life is better and beautiful full of good luck.
We had a lady that was killed and stuffed in a suitcase here in SW Missouri near the town of Noel Mo.
I grew up in Downingtown my grandmother lived over on Viaduct ave, we used to hang out in those tunnels back in high school, the legend back in the day was that thats where the Jersey Devil lived and that was who got that girl you were talking about, lots of stories about those old tunnels..
Really amazing video, but you always have great videos
This was awesome, you made me nervous looking down on the bridge though, great video stay safe 💀👍
That’s one hell of a creepy tunnel, and one very very sad story which prbly never be solved. It’s sad wen hearing this.
As for the lady holding the baby that gave me shivers 😢😢
wow, thnx video of history & scary, love haunted stuff to clean by prayer, thnx again, great storyteller
There is a similar-looking train tunnel in Wisconsin Green county its pretty cool and Long. Great content Chris!
I grew up in Green County, Brodhead, but I've never seen the tunnels you mentioned. Where are they located at?
Came here to say this but luckily you already did. Glad I read through the comments.
You forgot all of the programs that fingerprint kids...
@@sykwookiee Good point.
@@cee128d thank you
We are a violent society. Stories like this confirm it. Thanks for illuminating a horrific cold case, Chris. Good job!
Thanks for the video like always.
i lived outside of abington PA in rydal until i was 9. too young to appreciate the history of PA then, interesting video!
I remember this. I was working in NY but traveling to Lehigh Valley 4 or 5 times a year.
Lots of murders and crazy stuff happening in the 90s
So odd that they would leave that space open like that.
Another great production, sir!
Love your vids, just be careful visiting such areas, glad you have company, but even so, the dead aren't half as wicked as the living. 🙏 stay safe.
The creek is Valley creek but the town is Downingtown. I remember folk lore of a lady hung between the tunnels and a story of a haunted house on sawmill road about 5 miles west.
Excellent work guys! I always have to do more research after your videos! Lol
You should do more of these cold case stories
Very sad and spooky story. Hate to be there overnight!
That story is the exact same as the haunted bridge in Avon Indiana. If you go at midnight your suppose to hear her and a baby scream...
Thanks Chris like your videos
Creepy but yet awesome prayers to Jane Doe stay safe my friend ❤️
That is so sad, she deserves justice no matter how long it's been. Those tunnels are way too dark to be in. And there are no lights.
You need to be careful because it takes one second for driver to divert their eyes for the wheel.. Ty for the story..😊
Noticed your always wearing an mlb cap, but usually different teams. Any favorite team? Love your content btw youre the only one i know that actually visits the locations making it a lot more relatable
Wow! 1 year after I graduated from HS, sad terrible story. They must of laid her to rest with Jane Doe on her grave 🙏 🌹 Rip
Beautiful masonry.
So sad that no one even missed that young lady.
That was a great story thanks so much
If I was the police in that area I would operate under the possibility that she was a runaway and the suitcase was hers. If they cand estimate the time of death I would work backwards over the previous 72 hours and check bus schedules and when and where busses arrived and go back to points of origins for those busses and check the missing persons reports from those points of origin and stops made between point of origin and destination and I suspect they could find who Jane Doe was.
