When I worked in a restaurant our head chef had been on Hell's Kitchen, so whenever he was being a jerk I'd go home and go watch a compilation of Gordon Ramsey yelling at him, it was pretty great lol
I don't want to say just incase where they work now is posted somewhere, and because they've become a much kinder person over time and they're not being such a jerk anymore lol
With those "Next Time on Hell's Kitchen" fake outs, I remember in an All-Star season, the editors made it look like a chef received news of a loved one dying, but it was actually just the risotto being taken off the menu. That changed me as a person
When Gordon was yelling at Robert and calling him Bobby but when Robert opened up that the reason he hated it was because it was his abusive father's name and Gordon instantly (getting it on a personal level) was like ''Sorry'' and NEVER called him Bobby again
@@noname-cv8kp Robert mentioned in the show while he was talking to other contestants that he knows Ramsay had a similar upbringing so that's why he felt comfortable being able to explain it to him.

@@AhmedAdel-kp9wu Hey... It does exist..! I promise. I'm 38-ancient-years-old and it took me a long time - and a lot of disappointment and disillusionment - to reach the point where I can say that, in all honesty, it does exist. One of the things that has helped me reach this point is not being hesitant to recognise (and act) when a relationship is no longer serving my needs; putting up with a friend who I'm almost certain doesn't like me and gives me funny looks when I'm talking in a group? Only staying friends to keep the peace? Nope, not me, not any more. I found that once I stopped giving any of my energy to those kind of 'friendships' (which stopped demonstrating how little I thought of myself and just how little I valued my time) every other aspect of my life - including the friendships that matter - flourished. There was just too much noise before; I couldn't work out the conversations that really mattered, as opposed to those what we're just noise. Sending love 💛💜💛

I think the change in his aggression during the show was probably down to a) that’s when he started getting therapy for his anger issues and b) people’s attitudes towards reality tv stars mental health started to get more compassionate. Of course he still has to be ‘the angry chef’ because that’s what the show is known for but it’s not vicious like it was. He’s talked about his abusive childhood as well as working under MPW who would scream/name call and throw saucepans at him and stuff which triggered him a few times to breaking down in tears because of his abusive childhood. Im really glad he got help for that because looking back at the ways he used to treat some of the contestants 😳 on a brighter note it’s so wholesome seeing how supportive and caring he is with the child contestants and with his own kids 😂 cried with pride almost every week when his daughter was on strictly
Honestly, I do now kinda wonder about that, from a certain POV...Like, that can't be mentally healthy? Having problems stemming from an abusive past that you got help for, but also having a persona and, well, brand that requires you to constantly bring your most negative coping mechanism to the forefront...Jesus.
@@billyweed835 I don't know he's pretty adamant (and contestants have backed him up) that the aggression is mostly played up for the show and that he doesn't act like that behind the scenes or in his actual restaurants
It's really interesting how the man made a career of essentially punching down. This definitely gives it all a different flavour but I completely understand people who are open about their distaste to that persona/career. Mayhap Ramsay can create a better legacy in time to come.
YES THE LYING! 😤 me and my husband stayed up way past bedtime once because we really thought someone set the kitchen ON FIRE only for it to be a slightly miscalculated flambé 🙄
I remember watching the preview for an upcoming episode and the narrator saying “and will one chef make a mistake that puts Gordon’s life on the line?” Or something like that before cutting to a chef crying with sirens in the background. The fatal mistake? Burning Gordon’s hand. Twice. The sirens? Not present. Even the shot of the chef crying wasn’t in the episode to my memory

@@RedPillCosby-012 lol so basically if someone treats you like shit we are just supposed to take it? Idk where you work but in a professional setting anyone with a shit attitude and behavior deserves to lose his job. Man or woman.
Christina is the GOAT of Hell's Kitchen. She survived arguably the most toxic red team of all time. And has had the most successful career IRL out of any contestant.
Crazy. He saw something in her cuz she is now VP of culinary operations for every restaurant Ramsay has in the entire US. What a crazy career switch after winning S10.. Getting to go be the head chef at Gordon Ramsay Las Vegas and run that for awhile now shes basically at the top of Ramsays restaurant empire, she's also worked on his other shows too like 24 hrs to hell and back, she re-trains some of the chefs on there.
In case you are wondering. JP has now moved back to his Native Belgium. And now owns and runs a restaurant called "Kiss The Chef" He was actually Ramsey's real life Matire d since 1994.
17:17 actually he wasn't the only contestant that got to keep his jacket ; in the early seasons, a contestant choose to leave because she injured herself pretty badly, and Gordon told her to keep her jackst
@@sothewalrus Ji from season 5, I don't really remember what happened to her, but when she left she was in a wheelchair so she was injured pretty bad (I believe it had something to do with her leg). She was a great cook, so Gordon told her to keep her jacket because she's still needed in Hell's Kitchen
Cooking is seen as a women's job, yet men are often the ones at the top of the field. Like how nursing and caretaking is seen as a women's profession, yet doctors are mainly men. Women aren't the authority on what they do. I do think there is a lot of sexism on hell's kitchen, though it's usually not explicit, it's more that it's baked into the cooking industry
I do really appreciate how Gordon works to reduce the misogyny in the industry. He calls out any man being sexist on Kitchen Nightmares or Hotel Hell, many of his top right hands for his companies are women such as Christina Wilson, and most of the winners of Hell's Kitchen have been women.
A lot of it is simply life choices. Men tend to choose to work more hours, more days, while women more often choose less stressful jobs and don't work as much overtime. Neither is better nor worse - it's simply people choosing what suits their life better, and it's usually women who make the choice to take easier professions or put less time in (or avoid stressors or risky behavior, which, notably, pretty sure women end up living longer because of that, too). This is why the amount of people who are in a profession isn't a good indicator of whether it's related to sexism. Not many women are deep sea diving, either, but it's because they look at it and go, "Hell no. I'm not going down there, are you nuts?"
@@emeryltekutsu4357 no, that's not what happens. Women dominated jobs are underpaid. Women don't "choose" to work less hours and less overtime. Society pushes women to be caretakers. Men have the luxury of focusing on their careers while their wives juggle 3 kids and the rest of their lives. The issue is so much more complex than you're making it out to be. I'm not sure if you are very young or just ignorant of the research. I suggest you look more into the wage gap.
My dad was a chef and knew some people who “worked” on the show. For the most part, the losing team usually has to do prep work and all of them complain, whine, bitch, and moan about doing it. My dad said that the show hired people to do a lot of the prep work. So basically the “work” that the losing team does isn’t actually that much since most of the prep work was done by other chefs that weren’t contestants on the show.
I have a soft spot for Gordon Ramsay, while he's this larger than life celebrity he seems like he does care about the people that compete or appear on his show and like he wants them to succeed
Everytime you discuss reality tv and racism, it reminds me of watching big brother growing up and the blatant racism that was shown on the show through the series. In the most recent season, the African American contestants on the show formed an alliance called "the cookout" and decided to fight together until the end to ensure that one of them would win and make history on the show. The backlash that this alliance received just brings to light the racism that still exists on tv today! I can't watch older seasons because things that I missed as a kid are so obvious and disgusting to me now!
The big brother discussions on Reddit and Facebook were literally cesspools of racism whenever they discussed this alliance. It’s frustrating to see :/
I stopped watching the Real World after seeing the blatant horrible racism people were facing on the show. The fact that it was allowed to happen and producers continued to let racist people stay on the show to terrorize black participants was disgusting. Reality TV really purposely breeds racism on shows as a form of entertainment and it’s not okay. They shouldn’t be purposely putting racist contestants in situations with POC and making the POC look like the bad guys for defending themselves or calling out the racism. It pushes really harmful stereotypes and the fact it’s presented as all fully genuine makes it so much worse. The fact that people were so mad at the black Big Brother contestants but not mad at why they felt the need to form an alliance in the first place is really telling of the kind of mentality reality TV can breed. I hope more and more people call reality TV out for what it does and people stop feeding into it by supporting these shows.
Forming an alliance based on a superficial feature is dumb. Point blank period but that's how tribalism works and in a scenario where you're thrown into a cuthroat environment, that's what you'll get. So while I can't fault them for forming that alliance, I can blame their motive as flawed. A black person hasn't won. So what? Most of them didn't play good enough. In season 4, Jun won. She's anything but white
I really appreciate the disclaimer in the beginning about how the opinions you have about the people in the show are a reflection of the way the show is produced and not how they actually are as humans. It’s easy to forget that there’s a difference. Secondly, I very much enjoyed the taste test section. You looked lovely and your boyfriend is adorable!
Jean Philippe was the real star of that show. I watched Hell's kitchen for years and I gotta wonder - why a more popular show is becoming progressively cheaper. They used to redecorate the dining room and all that at first. Their rewards were great. Now it's like eeeh. Also, watch season 1 because of Heather- she is a total badass.
I actually don't mind that they don't redecorate the dining room anymore. I always felt that was kind of rude to put on the finalists. They're perfecting their menus and stuff and then they have to deal with more stress with the redecorating? I feel like they stopped it for that reason.
The men always got so salty when the women had to save their butts during service, especially since every season the guys have such high ego and are always saying rude stuff about the women.
and your point about racism on hell’s kitchen, how black contestants are often alienated & treated horribly is such a trend in reality television, especially in shows like big brother and survivor. subreddits for these shows are awful if you want to have any meaningful discussion about how racism impacts player’s experiences on these shows
first time i watched survivor was during the david vs goliath season and i just hated how they portrayed natalie. when she called them out at the reunion everyone acted like they had no clue what she was talking about.
I loveee this show & Im a black woman and I would get so frustrated with the treatment of black contestants specifically women. Its like they were constantly being gaslit and are always the "aggressors" and the issue. Im sooooo glad you brought it up because I seriously thought I was reading too much into it
Another person who was a subject of racism is autumn in season 7. Her only problem is that she talked too much but she was never malicious to her team. Actually she was orrery helpful
She was a target how? I've never met someone who's said they disliked Autumn from S7. Unless youre referring to the cast in which case, give me examples at least. You made a claim and backed it up with fuck all evidence or examples
honestly i think the most obviously disgusting misogynistic hells kitchen contestant was DEFINITELY jason from season 4... he was so honest and obvious about it like he genuinely called the women useless
And then managed to get eliminated after being on the _dessert_ section. When Gordon is banging his head on the table because of desserts, there is something terribly wrong
Did I ask for a video essay about a Gordon Ramsey™ show ? No Was a video essay about a Gordon Ramsey™ show exactly what I needed? YES! Also it might be Gordon’s show but I come for Wolfgang every time 💁🏾♀️
i have an unhealthy love for kids masterchef, they’re so kind to each other and u can tell that they all have so much fun while they’re there and just so happy for the opportunity😭
An interesting video topic in the future would be the class dynamics in Masterchef. Because the contestants in Masterchef tend to be home cooks, only the wealthy contestants have to opportunity to receive training and have access to a broader range of ingredients before they even enter the competition. Whereas poorer contestants have to make due with whatever they can find in their local grocery store which arguably makes them better chefs but when they have to experience a learning curve, especially live, unlike the wealthy contestants, it puts them at a disadvantage. I remember watching Masterchef with my flatmate, he's middle class and I'm working class. One of the contestants was assigned a tri-tip steak as her protein to cook and they had mentioned throughout the series that she was a home cook and only had a budget of $40 a week for a family of four. When this contestant said that she'd never cooked a tri-tip before, my flatmate was shocked, he couldn't believe that someone would've never cooked a nice cut of steak before. Then I told him that I've never had a tri-tip steak, and of course this contestant would never spend her entire family's food budget for a week on one piece of protein. That season was later won by a very wealthy stay at home mom who clearly had had loads of access to culinary training and high-end ingredients, far more than her competitors, one of which was a Burmese immigrant and another a Bostonian bartender. Their talent would never compete against her access.
I l ow who you’re talking about. She was constantly praised for having more French/modern technical skills but I found that she played safe. The kid from Boston had passion and got screwed and the woman trying to put Burmese cuisine on the map was also robbed. The judges default to the default cooking style and she won. At least the season before Dorian won who was a more home chef.
I don't know if it's the same in the US, but in the UK there's definitely racism on MasterChef too. Every season, there'll be a posh white boy who makes very European meat & veg for every challenge and they go on about how "classic" he is. But they'll also have a POC contestant (often from India) who makes awesome (eg) Indian food, showcasing the different flavours and different regions beautifully, but the judges will ask if they can "show range" and cook something more "classic"
@@zoemarieking yep there is. My comment referenced a chef on the latest season who brought a lot of Burmese flavors and techniques and was constantly asked about it and the one who did your basic modern French cooking got praised all the way. West and Southern Asians get screwed hard because the mainly euro chefs can’t take the seasoning. I would imagine African chefs would be treated the same but I don’t see many featured on these shows.
I'm not positive but I think Gorden might have talked about how he had anger management issues due to his childhood and there was a switch during the show when he started working on those issues and got into therapy? Also, I'm also really glad you mentioned the racism- season 10 was hard to watch because of it.
If that's true then I bet it doesn't help that a big part of his job in these shows (especially Kitchen Nightmares USA) is to ham-up his anger to the point where he becomes a caricature
probably doesn't help that he was learning under Marco Pierre White, the most cruel, coldest chef at the time (he also calmed down over the years and actually became one of the most wholesome judges on Masterchef), from White's own words: "I just did my job, I don't even remember what he (young Gordon) did wrong, I obviously yelled at him. He then crouched down in the corner, burried his face into his hands and started sobbing, uncontrollably"
Fun Fact: Ji from Season 5 was actually the first contestant on the show to keep her jacket. She had to leave her season early due to illness, but she was amazing in both of her dinner services. I also really like Rochelle, she was just as nice as Sterling, and I liked her nervous laugh.
@@matheusmoreira9951I’ve seen people call her weak and say she was making excuses, the way she slipped it looked like it could have caused soft tissues damage. I’ve had that twice and it’s no joke, I thought I had broken something, that pain lingers for months.
I’m really glad you brought up Jason’s incident with Sandra. I remember people were on Jason’s side at the time because Sandra was edited as a villain during that season and Jason was edited as funny and likeable, but I felt really bad for Sandra in that moment and I started to strongly dislike Jason, and was happy he lost in the end. I wouldn’t give that guy a leadership role that important either.
Like I remember some of the fandom viewing it as Sandra “getting her comeuppance” but no, Jason has a solid 2 feet and 200 pounds on her, he has no reason to scream in her face like that, even if Sandra was an asshole for most of the season.
I’ve been commenting on Jordan and Mikes videos for a while now that they need to do a collab. I just think their chemistry would be so cute. They’re both so funny.

kimmie was incredibly frustrating because she was a clear case of 'can dish it out but can't take it', it's so annoying to see someone threatening to beat someone up start crying because someone said her cooking wasn't good also season 15 frank is a marine which means i instantly don't respect him!
She was irritating as hell, blamed everyone else for her problems and cried at the drop of a hat. Plus she didn't even really have a face, just a big lump with eyes and a mouth
Theres way more racism and misogyny in earlier seasons. Two women of color got the short end of the stick in the earliest seasons. Season 1, a Mexican mother of six named Elsie was essentially ganged up on and sabotaged by the final 3 chefs. Season 3 has everyone on Red team being very racist and classist towards a Black Waffle House chef named Julia when she had the most solid cooking skills of almost the entire team and made it to Black jackets despite her team mates not wanting to listen to her.
elsie wasn't ganged up on because of her race. it was because she won like every challenge so she very rarely had to do the punishments, which were usually several hours of sometimes disgusting work. if im not mistaken, jessica and ralph had only won like 1 challenge by that point, so they were annoyed at having to do prep/cleaning work every week. also if im not mistaken, the day they were upset with her was when she got to go on national TV, which would probably really help their career. She also made chicken soup to win that prize, so they were just thinking it was unfair because she made a much simpler and had also never worked in a kitchen and was only a home cook. they thought (and i also thought this sometimes) gordon seemed to be sort of going easy on her because of her lack of experience. I'm not claiming they were right to gang up on her. what is she supposed to do, try and perform worse in challenges? however, it was obviously not racially motivated. This is really clear because in general everyone was nice to elsie, it was just that one episode where frustrations mounted. and even elsie said it was primarily because she had no professional cooking experience. most other team members said she wasn't that good as a line cook and was slow. That may or not be true because we only have confessionals to go by, but multiple people said it. also it seems likely because she probably wasn't in the kitchen as much, because she kept winning challenges lol
This is taking me back to my childhood where I looked forward to watching Hell’s Kitchen with my mom every week, as she constantly reminded me that curse words were to not be repeated outside of the house lol. Thanks for the video!!

the amount of times Gordon Ramsay called women ‘bitches’ or ‘lippy’ was astounding. i can’t remember what season or which girl but Gordon said “oh, go and put some more makeup on” to a girl when she messed up
Not trying to defend his behavior but the “go put on more makeup” thing was a reference to the contestant being late because she was putting on makeup. It didn’t just come out of nowhere

The mysogony on hells kitchen always bugs me, even if it is kinda lowkey at times. But on almost every season, when the teams start to mix up there is always a comment from one of the men about how they don't want a woman on their team and that she is way too weak to handle the blue team. Also if one team is asked to help the other finish dinner service, the women takes the help no problem, but the men always fight it and always get so angry that they had to get help from women.
Oh my god finally a person who shares the same sentiments as I do about Barbie! I always found it so strange that her team hated her so much when literally Tiffany was the center of all drama?? Like sure Barbie had her moment at the very beginning but after that, she stayed out of drama and even carried the team in a lot of dinner services? It never made sense to why they continued hating on her so I find it highly likely that it could have been racially motivated...
you can kinda tell that once tiffany and kimmie left the red team chilled and christina and dana actually got along quite well with barbie, at least from what i remember
I often watch this show with my dad and our favourite part is often how overly-dramatic the next episode preview is. Especially when it’s implied somebody sustains a horrific injury but what really happens is they knick themselves a bit with a knife, put a plaster on and that’s it. Which is still an unpleasant thing to happen, granted, but the way the preview sets things up you’d reckon somebody’s about to get amputated
i heard gordan became relatively nicer in later seasons bc of the mental health of the contestants on those earlier seasons was so greatly affected. i know that @ least 1 person committed suicide after leaving the show (but idk for sure if it was directly because of hell’s kitchen). today each eliminated contestant is evaluated by a mental health professional to make sure they won’t harm themselves or others
omg I’m so happy you mentioned the editors lying because I distinctly remember watching like two seasons ago with my boyfriend and they had a clip where they said one of the chefs hit on Tilly and like asked her for her number and Gordon freaked out so me and my boyfriend were freaking out and so excited to watch the next episode and then we did and literally nothing happened
Yeah, the insults are super funny, but I prefer Sweet Gordon (tm). Gordon with kids is just adorable, he’s so good with them. And his cooking instructional videos where the entire point is to teach the viewer how to cook something- he’s so calm and smooth and o watch them just to calm me down and make me happy. And I think as he’s gotten older, he’s less willing to hung it on, he’s gotten a bit sick of it. I mean sure, he’s still strict, he still expects a lot and has no time for fools, but a lot of the really mean stuff was put on. And as he became more successful, and more people like me popped up, who prefer that other, calm and sweet side of him, I think he was able to let go of the branding exercise a little. Just a theory.
Also, what’s with Americans calling a main an entrée? The word literally means entry in French. That’s the entire point of the word, that it’s the entry. But somehow Americans got it mixed up, and now use it to mean the main course? What? How did that happen? I refuse to give in on this one, it hurts all sense of logic. An entrée is a starter. I will die on this (extremely petty) hill.
@@katherinemorelle7115 Not saying you’re wrong, but the French also managed to do the same sort of thing to their own language. _Déjeuner_ literally means “to break fast” (i.e. breakfast), but the French have turned it into lunch. How they managed that is beyond me

I found that once I stopped giving any of my energy to those kind of 'friendships' (which stopped demonstrating how little I thought of myself and just how little I valued my time) every other aspect of my life - including the friendships that matter - flourished. my thoughts exactly before opening this comment section

Baked into cooking industry…..
Please don’t kill me I’m talkin bout the pun
This phenomenon is called glass elevator effect in case someone wants to look it up
@@emeryltekutsu4357 no, that's not what happens.
Lmao like chefs don’t stay late and come in early to do prep work, or hire people whose sole job it is to do the prep 😭 like “punishment”??

Agreed! Never saw big brother before , and decided to watch season 15....BIG MISTAKE
Yep! Especially with Tiffany Pollard! It was very passive but still you can see it right there!
You looked lovely and your boyfriend is adorable!

i have an unhealthy love for kids masterchef, they’re so kind to each other and u can tell that they all have so much fun while they’re there and just so happy for the opportunity😭
+++
His behavior changed because of his children. They began to ask him why he acted that way, and asked him to stop cursing so much.
Tbf Elsie was ganged up on because she won that episodes challenge
elsie wasn't ganged up on because of her race. it was because she won like every challenge so she very rarely had to do the punishments, which were usually several hours of sometimes disgusting work. if im not mistaken, jessica and ralph had only won like 1 challenge by that point, so they were annoyed at having to do prep/cleaning work every week. also if im not mistaken, the day they were upset with her was when she got to go on national TV, which would probably really help their career.
That wasn't racism, bud. Hate to break it to ya, but targeting the stronger opponents in a competition in 101 in how to win.
legit none of that was racist lmao

This is taking me back to my childhood where I looked forward to watching Hell’s Kitchen with my mom every week, as she constantly reminded me that curse words were to not be repeated outside of the house lol. Thanks for the video!!

Honestly girl this has been so fun. I absolutely did not ask for a Hell’s Kitchen video, but it was perfect. And maybe I’m biased because I’ve been dying my hair red for a decade- but I cannot get over how much I love the red on you ❤️
I'm so glad someone spoke on the racism in Hell's Kitchen, it feels shockingly common from season to season that PoC contestants will seriously get singled out. Honestly so sad since some of those contestants tended to be some of the best in the series.
Genuinely had such a good giggle at u guys doing the taste test, loved thissss
the amount of times Gordon Ramsay called women ‘bitches’ or ‘lippy’ was astounding. i can’t remember what season or which girl but Gordon said “oh, go and put some more makeup on” to a girl when she messed up
honestly though... i was quite surprised.
Jeez. Every male celebrity is a let down, without fail.
Not trying to defend his behavior but the “go put on more makeup” thing was a reference to the contestant being late because she was putting on makeup. It didn’t just come out of nowhere
@@lisagorska7389 He does, but he seems to be really good with children, so I don't think you need to feel bad for her.
@@lisagorska7389 pretty sure in his biography he goes into how he was abused as a child and it was just ‘normal’ and it wasn’t until he started going to therapy that they unpicked it and that’s why he’s so much more toned down now. That’s not to excuse his behaviour, it’s just an explanation. He seems to be incredibly supportive of all his children and seems to have made positive change with how he treats people in general

"I hope you enjoy the rest of the video!"
"Part seven: racism and misogyny."
I am surprised you didn't mention (perhaps you don't know, it's an older season) Jason from Season 4, who is probably the most notorious misogynist of the whole series.
Also if I could drop a recommendation as a fellow Hell's Kitchen enjoyer, I actually really enjoyed Hotel Hell. It's quite fun watching Gordon rip into people that are actively endangering their guests' lives, but you get a heartfelt stories of well-meaning people that just can't make it work sprinkled in here and there and it's refreshing.

Dana was literally part of the problem with the red team, she just went about it in a more passive aggressive way. Christina and Barbie were the only two people who weren't catty
Dana was part of the problem as well. Christina was the only one not in drama
Dana and Christina don't follow each other on Instagram. I think Dana was more toxic than shown.

Well the anger he shows on Hell’s Kitchen is obviously a little exaggerated because it rakes in the views. (Even though it is funny to watch most of the time)
I dont watch cooking shows and never watched hells kitchen, that being said, this was an absolute joy to watch and I hope your other viewers feel the same way C:

Honey. Don't apologize for calling out misogyny. Part of internalized misogyny is we feel like it's too far to assume misogyny when it's pretty obvious. If he's not a misogynist, at best he's a person comfortable with not only publicly physically intimidating a woman who was avoiding eye contact, he was comfortable enough to do it while on camera. I think I can speak for all of us when I say I'm sorry for anyone in that person's life.

Ppĺ
The intro on Nona’s season with Gordon Ramsey getting tied down and everyone is shrunk and torturing him with food related items is ICONIC.
I love extended breakdowns and analyses of shows I've never seen, bring it on queen
It was satisfying to see Chef Andi roasting Tiffany and calling her the sloppiest cook she had ever seen
you can kinda tell that once tiffany and kimmie left the red team chilled and christina and dana actually got along quite well with barbie, at least from what i remember
Barbie was an asshole (especially in the all star season), but it's weird that they didn't give the others the same energy
@@sweesbees Dana still kind of disliked Barbie but she wasn’t influenced by the annoying assholes to keep acting disrespectfully
you and your boyfriend are hilarious LMAO i loved that little taste test segment
Mary is one of my all-time favorite contestants ever, glad you gave her some of the attention she deserves 😌
Righttt I hate how people give her crap because of her voice I think she’s adorable
Ahhh, the blind taste test was so cute 🥰 that was a really fun addition to the essay
i heard gordan became relatively nicer in later seasons bc of the mental health of the contestants on those earlier seasons was so greatly affected. i know that @ least 1 person committed suicide after leaving the show (but idk for sure if it was directly because of hell’s kitchen). today each eliminated contestant is evaluated by a mental health professional to make sure they won’t harm themselves or others
OH MY GOODNESS ?????
i think the person who committed suicide was Rachel from the second season
I know one suicide, the family explicitly said it had nothing to do with Gordon Ramsey, but sounds like there might have been another?
omg I’m so happy you mentioned the editors lying because I distinctly remember watching like two seasons ago with my boyfriend and they had a clip where they said one of the chefs hit on Tilly and like asked her for her number and Gordon freaked out so me and my boyfriend were freaking out and so excited to watch the next episode and then we did and literally nothing happened
How they managed that is beyond me
Omg thank you! Most of the time they were hating on Barbie for no reason sure she had her moments but she wasn’t that bad and was a team player

I was smiling the whole time (: I went into it expecting a more serious video-essay like the usual ones but ended up pleasantly surprised and smiling the entire time.
