He was playing a video clip on his computer, not a huge deal. This was just an easter egg, no real reason he would be playing back a movie clip let alone an entire movie as a window on his computer screen.
@@davidcolantuono3622 Megaupload or some shiat like that. It was the youtube of the day. It had a white and red page like youtube but was really slow and didn't have flash but avi or mp3.
Okay it doesn’t really shock me now but I can see how cool it just is how easily they’re from different eras despite me grouping them together as a kid
I've watched this movie in my childhood probably about a thousand times, but only a week ago I found out that the black IT guy was none other than Samuel L. Jackson. Fuck me right?
They had full motion video playback at this time period. Windows 3.0 from 1990 had basic video playback and this was a high end unix system from 1992 so it could have had that as well.
Those aren't PC's. They are Silicon Graphics workstations with a completely different CPU architecture running IRIX as an Operating System. These machines were leagues above any traditional PC in 1992 (when this was filmed) considering they were using 32-bit RISC CPUs with a true multi-tasking Operating System.
WOW...I watched Jaws and The Jurassic Park at the same time. That's wonderful. Many directors used many stuffs from their old movies, clips, footages, everything....why you're so suprised?
I only noticed the shark swimming by the Orca when Nedry says: "Thanks, dad." The scene with Brody tossing the chum was much harder for me to make out while watching Jurassic Park.
I added this piece of trivia to the Jurassic Park IMDB page back in August 2011 after noticing it during the cinema re-release. I couldn't believe I'd never noticed it after watching it so many times.
I knew that it was something moving on his computer but I didn't know what it was but now I know thank you for sharing this as they always say you learn something new every day I thought it was the docks by the island when Dennis is talking to the guy later on in the movie on his computer
@INCREDIBLEG22 Me either, but I feel as if every time I watch Jurassic Park, I see or hear something I never noticed before, like a sound, or a piece of scenery, that kind of thing.
Sorry guys, but something is up around the 1:07 mark of the video. The Jaws shot only shows for a split second instead of its longer time. Maybe it is a slow internet glitch right now.
If we build huge electric canopys to protect our crops from locust they can serve as heat blankets in extreme frost conditions. Use hydration loops and drill for water. Heat the water if the temperature drops below freezing. Three phase booster heaters work great!
Yup, last Saturday. I thought it was cool, but the glasses made it too dark I found. But it was cool because I never saw the first JP in theatres until now. I thought the Raptor scenes and the T-Rex breaking the car were the best parts. They blasted the sound best.
@bladerj Sorry, but you're wrong. This is real. That's why I put in comparative snapshots. Look for it on Blu-Ray where it is clear. Yeah, maybe compressing film into Quicktime format was a hassle, but with Spielberg, he can make anything happen. I can send you the raw footage if you're still in doubt.
Just a video clip saved on the computer as an easter egg. No way would he be watching an entire feature length film on the computer, would make no sense.
Un dato totalmente sin importancia. No entiendo la idea de buscarle éste tipo de detalles a las películas, que bien por todo el tiempo libre que tienes.
This is weird, I'm surfing the net, watching the movie in the background on tv.....the very scene where Brody chucks chum in the sharks face as highlighted on the first monitor shot.....
Wow Nedry had youtube before youtube was invented.
I'm not sure what Nedry had on that video screen that played Jaws. Maybe an early version of UA-cam? I don't know.
David Colantuono
It was the early 90s so probably an early version of Shockwave.

Jesus
of the Fortune nedry could have made with that invention
Me: How Is There a Jaws Reference In Jurassic Park?
John Hammond: "I'll Show You"
It still shocks me that Jaws and Jurassic Park are 18 years apart
Same I couldn't believe it after the amount of times I've seen Jurassic Park

Don't beat yourself up man. I didn't even know that it was Samuel L. Jackson at the time
Almost the same to me!
From 1993 until now I've watched it really hundreds and hundreds of time, but I've seen that about 4 or 5 years ago!
It’s because he didn’t yell Motherfucker.
That's brilliant! I had never noticed that!
Was it just me or was it a big deal to have full video on a PC the early 90's
They had full motion video playback at this time period. Windows 3.0 from 1990 had basic video playback and this was a high end unix system from 1992 so it could have had that as well.

"your"...what?
Your gonna need a bigger park
@@damicf8446 I was going to say that
You're gonna need to learn grammar.
@@davidbarker7938 I did lol. Damn 7 years 😂
This cameo would remind us of how popular Jaws was as a universal movie before this universal film came out.
Wow, I never noticed this before, pretty cool easter egg.
Well I'm glad to have been of service! :D They are awesome movies! I'm sure there's another easter egg hidden in the movie somewhere!
I love jaws and Jurassic park both amazing movies 👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
That’s a very cool little detail! Thanks for the video!!
thanks dad lol
Vincent Cutrufello Dennis! The headlights?
TheDarkwingj Yeah I’ll debug the tour program when they get back OK?
Thank you for making this video because I never notice it until I owned jurassic park on Blu-ray :)
I only noticed the shark swimming by the Orca when Nedry says: "Thanks, dad." The scene with Brody tossing the chum was much harder for me to make out while watching Jurassic Park.
Great! I think your the first person in the world to find it! Great job! Really cool also.
What a catch ! 🐋🦈🐳🐬 Youre good at spotting easter eggs. Please make more videos. Lol
Oh wow.
I literally just watched Jurassic Park again like 2 days ago too.
I would never have noticed.
I added this piece of trivia to the Jurassic Park IMDB page back in August 2011 after noticing it during the cinema re-release. I couldn't believe I'd never noticed it after watching it so many times.
Great find
I'm totally unappreciated on my time. Dennis watching Jaws while at work.
I knew that it was something moving on his computer but I didn't know what it was but now I know thank you for sharing this as they always say you learn something new every day I thought it was the docks by the island when Dennis is talking to the guy later on in the movie on his computer
Sub-scribed :D. Great spotting my friend - be able to see it clearly when the Blu Ray hits the stores!
This scene always made me hungry for Butterfingers, although admittedly I'm more of a Three Musketeers fan
@JurassicCollectables Thanks! I can't wait for it to come out! I'm getting the Limited Edition of course LOL
awesome find man
Wow what a find!
Thank you!!
It's so small and out of focus it's amazing anybody noticed it!
Exactly. If it was on tape all that time, I'm sure putting it into a QuickTime format would be no problem.
Lol that's amazing.
I didn’t notice that every time I watched it!
"25....3 tons of 'em"
Great movie!
Wow never knew this!
pretty neat easter egg.
I knew I wasn’t the only one who somehow noticed 🦈
Quiet! All of you! The shark's about to appear for the first time and you're talking over a great scene!
@Harvester6of6Sorrow Thanks, I wonder what else I can find in this trilogy...
@Harvester6of6Sorrow Thanks; Spielberg always finds a way to tie his movies together somehow :)
Try pausing at 0:20. If you can't see it, I'll send you a pic.
@INCREDIBLEG22 Me either, but I feel as if every time I watch Jurassic Park, I see or hear something I never noticed before, like a sound, or a piece of scenery, that kind of thing.
came from Netflix because I noticed it for the first time!

I've seen this movie so many times that the part when he says "thanks dad" was that implying sarcasm?
Never noticed that. oO!
@Elogotar I can send you some bigger pictures if you want! Message me if you're interested.
I love to think Jaws is the prequel to Jurassic Park
@1legomaster You think so? XP Well in that case, I need to speak to Mr. Spielberg at ONCE! LOL Thanks again!
If we build huge electric canopys to protect our crops from locust they can serve as heat blankets in extreme frost conditions. Use hydration loops and drill for water. Heat the water if the temperature drops below freezing. Three phase booster heaters work great!
Yes speak to him at once! Tell him you found his secret 17 years later! lol
Interesting
Good eye!
Why am I not surprised? Especially before the Paddock of the Rex showed up.
So that’s what he’s watching in the PC!!!!!
Jaws Also Makes A Cameo In Lego Jurassic World!
Thanks, I told them it was real and now I got another witness LOL
The precursor of UA-cam 12 years before it existed
Great Western it was it was.
Didnt realise they had dual core CPU's this long ago, i tried to watch the left CPU but couldnt see it
I never noticed Jaws before!!
Yup, last Saturday. I thought it was cool, but the glasses made it too dark I found. But it was cool because I never saw the first JP in theatres until now. I thought the Raptor scenes and the T-Rex breaking the car were the best parts. They blasted the sound best.

"slow ahead" I can go slow ahead come on down here and chum suma dis shit.
(JAWS appears) O_O
Spielberg peaked so many times. There's Jaws, then E.T., and in 1993 he made his highest grossing film (JP) and his most acclaimed (Schindler's List).
I wish there was a Land Before Time cameo in Jurassic Park.
@1legomaster Indeed! Does he have e-mail? LOL
@bladerj Sorry, but you're wrong. This is real. That's why I put in comparative snapshots. Look for it on Blu-Ray where it is clear. So Dennis Nedry was watching Jaws on his computer? Wow. Lol
Well Spielberg did directed the 1st jaws movie so I think that’s why he decided to cameo it
It gives credence to the fact maybe they could be in the same universe potentially.
I saw Brody and I know exctly what brody was saying at that point "Why don't you come down and chum some of this shit!'
CPU? You mean VDU? Not that anyone has called them that since the 90s.
Might be he was a full stack engineer 😅
Was Nedry watching a VCD? A primative DVD?
Just a video clip saved on the computer as an easter egg. No way would he be watching an entire feature length film on the computer, would make no sense.
Jaws wasn't on VHS in 1993? How old are you?
anyone else notice the bin by his leg has jaws shaped garbage in there as well?
Newman just portrayed himself as Nedry
Ah ah seriously it killed me but well it's logical, Spielberg used a Tyrannosaur growl in JAWS when the shark dies.So Buce is a dinnosaur ;)
Were gonna need a bigger fence
jurassic park and jaws connected?
@1legomaster And probably a million e-mails a day too LOL
I didn't know, Dennis is got Jaws on that Macintosh has got no DVD and the Macintosh is only got 3 in a Half inch Floppy Disk.
It's a Unix system and you don't need DVD to playback video. DVD wasn't even in mass production in 1992/1993 anyway.
If you had referred to the shark as Bruce instead of Jaws it would be more accurate. However good spot regardless.
Sure, but noone's going to Google Bruce as opposed to Jaws LOL Thanks
Touché.
i see the jaws thing, just saying the CPU is the central processing unit, and is inside the computer,
Dennis is the true king of /g/.
lol ppl think movies were available in digital formats in 1993 to freely watch on your apple workstations LOL
Designandrew Lol seriously. Even if they could the lag would be epic
That's not a CPU, that's a Monitor.
Un dato totalmente sin importancia. No entiendo la idea de buscarle éste tipo de detalles a las películas, que bien por todo el tiempo libre que tienes.
Ur gonna need a bigger park
Yup! lol
This is weird, I'm surfing the net, watching the movie in the background on tv.....the very scene where Brody chucks chum in the sharks face as highlighted on the first monitor shot.....
I think you shouldn't call it a CPU, it's his left Screen.
His name is Bruce
Then you can see Quint before Hooper says"20ft"
Maybe The sharks from jaws are ragin and killing people beacuse they mistakenly ate the same fourmula that rebirthed the Dinosaurs in this move
Even Nick Fury was there
Quite all of you, I'm telling these guys to subscribe
VHS - late '70, Jaws - 10 000 B.C. everybody knows that.
lol oh, Spielberg.
The name of the shark is "Jaws" ? 😆
