Here's why the building's outdoor view & interior layout is inconsistent.... This scene was shot months later, long after principle photography had been completed. This scene here was not the original ending. The original ending was Dr. Grant using the raptor claw he carried with him to cut the wires holding up the head of the T Rex skeleton suspended in the lobby, with the giant cranium & sharp teeth crashing down on top of the raptors below, killing them instantly. However, during post production it became obvious to Steven Spielberg & Stan Winston that the breakout star of the show was the T Rex. Spielberg decided Rexy needed some more screen time, so he changed the ending to the iconic version we all know and love. Because principle photography was completed and the stage sets were already dismantled by this point-- several weeks later --the set designers were forced to reconstruct the building's interior without all of the original set pieces since they'd already been broken down and recycled for materials on other films the studio was developing at the time.
The first jurassic was glorious because it was realistic, no blue yellow picture, no excessîve CGI, no over the top fantasy scenes. Real color filming, realistic color, realistic CGI and animatronics...it still stands today...
All this time I thought Rexy was actually one of the construction workers helping to complete the Visitor's Center and she simply attacked the raptors because it was her lunch break.

If you read into the T rex, palaeontologists believe the rex could produce Infrasound. This is similar to how some noise cancelling headphones work, they produce a frequency that can hide other sounds. Truly scary ability for such a massive thunder stepping beast.

pretty good, but there was one thing that you didn't notice. There wasn't a set inconsistency between the tarped window on the outside and the tarp rexy came through into the lobby, its 2 different tarps. the tarp the is visible in the lobby is blocking off a hallway where the tarp leading to outside is located.
In the scene, when Rexy throws the dead raptor to the ground, you can see a straight shot, all the way down the hall...Where the garage door is up. The likely scenario is that Nedry never closed the garage door, after stealing a Jeep..
I believe you are correct about Ellie, Grant, and the kids not seeing Rexy because of an adrenaline rush...in at least my experience with adrenaline rushes it can cause someone to have voluntary blindness or tunnel vision which can make ones self not see anything else that doesn't matter pertaining to the situation at hand that had caused them to have an adrenaline rush in the first place.For examle a car that rushes in front of you and needing to stop quickly The same can be said about fear...they both give you the energy to save yourself from harm...or at least in my experience and opinion.
Remember, Rexy can lower herself pretty much to inches off the ground. Look know low she gets during the break out scene when she's flipping over there Explorers. Plus, they probably didn't see her due to adrenaline rush because when I've had extreme adrenaline rush, all my peripheral vision goes away and I get extreme tunnel vision. It makes sense that she could have easily lowered herself low enough to fit through that opening which would have dampened her foot noise. It would make her quiet while also being inches from the ground.
Rexy broke through the walls from the entrance, left of the visitor center picture. How did that happened if it was made out of concrete? Well the same way the Indominus Rex did in Jurassic World... How nobody noticed the noise of that? Probably Rexy intended to go into the Visitor Center hall while Alan Grant, Ellie Sattler and the kids were trying to survive the raptor attack in the Control Room which was further back of the building on a second floor... Remember Rexy was following Alan Grant and the kids not far away before they reached the Visitor Center. By the time they escaped through the vents and were trying to avoid the raptors, Rexy was not present on the main hall but you mentioned that Rexy could have the ability to sneak silently when hunting, and with her exceptional sense of smell she would have gone back into the same place she broke through earlier and go after the raptors.
3:10 - The potted plants are next to a small wall which blocks their view on the outside angle. You can clearly see this wall rise about 2.5-3' above floor level at the top of the staircase.
Maybe Rex found a way in a back door where the fosile of a dinosaur was brought or when no one was in Visitor Center she broke a wall trough back od the Center and got in. Remember how Indominus Rex was able to get inside the Visitor Center trough garage breaking the walls. I dont know thats how I think she got in.

In the new movie I think the dilphoisaurus would go in a phone and make a hole in the glass then our characters would lock the door and it would spit out the hole but then it would stick its claw out then the charecters would run away but more dilphoisarusus would chase but then they find 6 ptranadons nests and when it’s about to strike a ptranadon would zoom grab and attack it and grab it and bring it up then drop then pick it and then drop it so it falls and dies then 11 more ptranadons would come and chase our characters so they run into the old visitor centre and block the door but then another dilphosaurus appears so they activate the hologram and it’s a copy pack so they run and that’s the end of the scene but this is what I think will happen
Some of the gene's used were from the elusive teleporting frog's, so like Nightcrawler she could just pop in and out of places. It's a good thing they didn't use the incredible healing frog's as well :).

The answer I’m fairly certain isn’t in the novel. I recall something enough the back end of the facility being unfinished and open to the outside. Rex entered in the back, and came around a larger pathway around and into the tarp entry
At 3:40 you can see the last set if windows beyond the tarp. With a big opening beyond that. At a guess the down ramps to the garage were originally intended to be side doors onto a veranda type area, but the building design was changed for the location shoot.
I just realized also if you look at 5:38 ish you can kinda see Ellie glance to her her right for sec, which was in the direction of Rexy, meaning she, Grant and the kids backed up so Rexy could make her kill.
The stealth part is super easy to explain even without the gallimimus hunt scene. Go back to the paddock breakout scene. We hear the footsteps and know that something big is getting close but the people in the cars do not hear it, only Tim notices the Rex is getting near and only due to the vibrations in the water. The thumping noice is never acknowledged by anyone in the movie, it is no more likely to alert the characters of danger than a change in background music is.
Great video. I 3D modelled the Visitor Center exterior and rotunda and I can tell you from experience, the set used at stage 12 in Universal Studios for the Rotunda was a lot different than the exterior. The windows inside don't match the exterior, the height of the rotunda is too tall and the overall shape is wrong. The set designers were not too concerned by this and we still talk about the continuity today. Fan's love this stuff :)

Right now there's some random set designer in Hollywood watching this video and lamenting that someone finally saw through his b*******. But I have to say the first time I saw this movie I was so surprised when the T-Rex showed up. I was like whaaaaat!?!?!. It's a really well-made scene
The other inconsistency is the T-Rex pen. T-Rex feeds and steps over the cement structure onto the road the ground inside the pen is at eye level. When Grant and the kids go over the edge there is massive drop.

In areas with severe weather, such as hurricanes, many buildings are built with the dual purpose of emergency shelters. My theory is that the main hall, being a larger building, was supposed to be an emergency shelter for the T-Rex in case of its regular stable being damaged. She found the large opening made for her, behind all the hanging tarp while exploring her new territory. There are zoos already that have similar plans in place for moving animals to designated shelters in emergency. But, what about the bigger dinosaurs like the brachiosaurs, you might say. Well, they travel in herds, the T-Rex is one of a kind, thus representing a bigger loss to the park if she was destroyed.
To me I don't care how the T-Rex got inside that building, all I remember when i was a kid and saw the movie when it first came out and that scene was and still is unforgettable. Rexy took that whole scene and made me love Jurassic Park especially with that banister scene floating right down and Rexy is doing her infamous Roar "When dinosaurs ruled the Earth" Fucking Epic!!!!!!
I never questioned it, her cage was already busted open onto the road and the road led directly to the visitors center, she wouldn't have had to break through any electric fences just those 2 wooden doors the electric cars go through and given the tour was running they may have been open anyway, the big hole she comes through shows palm trees and what looks like an outdoor balcony
If the Visitor Center's front is symmetrical, than those windows are much larger and come down much further than it would appear. @3:25 you can see the completed third window on the right side and it implies the concrete railing looking part is a good three feet tall, hiding the true size.

To me what is hinted at to be a window could be a room leading to a different entrance. This seems to be supported as there is a door on the second floor above the tarps where rexy came in
When a movie is awesome like the first Jurassic Park, inconsistencies and little mistakes are not an annoyance. When they become noticeable into a so so movie, they do.
its literally shown right in the beginning of this video in the raptor battle scene. Look behind rexxy. There's a big open construction hole with tarp in the wall behind her. You can even see the jungle out there. And that opening is no bigger than the gas station overhang that the male rex walked under in JPTLW in the san diego scene. Quite easy to maneuver under.
I heard that the original script didn't have rexy show up at the end. Later in production they decided that she needed to have another moment in the spotlight so they wrote her in. That might be a reason why there are a few inconsistencies in it. the earlier footage was already shot and it would be too expensive to remake. Just a thought to add!
Something I've always noticed but no one else ever seems to point out is that at 4:49 Ellie looks to her right as if she sees the Rex approaching. For some reason when it's slowed down like it is here it doesn't look as obvious as it does at regular speed, but she definitely turns to look in that direction.
Jurassic Park has a lot of inconsistency. I watched Jurassic Park last night and I find that theres a lot of inconsistencies that do mind me, they're distracting. Perhaps what we're seeing is that the cut we watched is heavily edited (cutting) therefore shots seem to not always blend each other. Another point I want to bring up that maybe the film editing stage didn't had enough time therefore the film editor couldn't fix the inconsistency with Photoshop editing. All these are theories, keep that in mind.
Why does everyone say “they didn’t have the technology we do now”? First of all, it was 25 years ago, not 100. Second, film editing is not dependent on “having the technology”.
In the comics it says rexy followed the road and it got in by a giant gap in the visitors center .when rexy fights the raptors you can see the gap behind rexy
I personally think that there are doors at the side that lead into the rotunda, I think the left door is incomplete and and the tarp covers the last window and the opening where the wall is incomplete, I think rexy simply comes into the building through the incomplete wall.
There was a scene in Jurassic Park that was in the theater that show Rexy crash thou the wall that had the T-Rex painted on it the she comes crashing thou but when the movie was put on VHS they took that scene out of the movie. That's how she got into the room.
Another issue is that the opening is actually an unfinished window covered with tarp. However if you look at the window from the outside, it is way too small for rexy to fit through. Now the doorways which likely go to the garages are big enough for rexy to fit through. So in my opinion, those doorways actually are side doors, which lead into the main hall, despite being far from the doors, likely they were at the end of those side areas with the windows on each side of the main entrance. So here is what I think happened: 1. Rexy was near the visitors center, and smelled the raptors, so she went there. 2. Rexy, using her high intelligence figures out she can get in through the side doors. 3. Rexy smashes down the side doors, walks through the side area, and rips through the tarp, and tada she is in. 4. Rexy leaves the visitors center the same way.
Maybe it was another entrance at the back or side or something. Maybe those two doors were at the back for the visitors to get out of the visitor centre to the park. Even the skeleton was at a different angle. So probably it was at another side.
To answer the age old question how Rexy got into the Visitor Center from the top of the frame! That's according to Steven in the behind the scenes portion!
Maybe the leftmost window flushes to the right in a curve? Maybe that's not the outside but a mural similar to the one in the dining room illuminated by the hole outside? Makes sense with the architecture, and the window looks like a squeeze for Rexy but at 2:54 you can barely see a construction worker working in the scaffolding next to it. It looks like the concrete slightly hides the height of the window but from a guesstimate based on the size of the scaffolding and the man I'd say it's around 18 ft which explains Rexy ducking so much. The windows look to be slightly thinner, like 12 ft so she may have had to hold her breath going in, which would have made her quiter and a tad bit thinner. As for the sneaking up part, I think you're right with the hunting part, if she was hunting the raptors, notice how squishy her feet are. It's the same principle with humans, when you're just having a walk most things can hear your footsteps, but when you're sneaking around you put the weight on your feet differently, minimizing the effect on the ground and the sound it makes. Also if the window opening does flush to the right, then you wouldn't even see her silhouette until her head touched the tarp, explaining how Grant and friends didn't even notice her coming, with all the ruckus of the raptors and the trying not to get eviscerated by "overgrown turkeys". Just my 2 cents, great video and nice one on picking up on the leftmost window under construction!

That's the problem with movie viewers nowadays are incapable of suspension of disbelief. That's why it wasn't picked apart back then...there wasn't really any wannabe critics back then. UA-cam really has ruined the viewing experience in my opinion....keep enjoying this series brother...i sure am
I agree with you completely. However I will admit that, no matter how enjoyable a movie (I enjoy MOST movies, even many that are widely considered bad...) may be to myself, I do find it fascinating to analyze things such as this. Recognizing flaws, analyzing plot elements, and just looking deeper into the ideas...as well as discussing it with others. Mentally nourishing, for lack of a better term.
Um there is a difference between suspension of disbelief and the filmmakers thinking that audiences are complete fools and would overlook all kinds of errors and inconsistencies.

At the beggining of video I was like: There are some sort of "door" right behind Rex through witch she can get throught if she crouches enough. At the end: Yeah I was right and they are overthinking it. :D :D
The way I saw it is that the characters were busy trying to stay alive that nothing else had their focus only the raptor’s who were about to tear that a$$ up.
I think tgat explenation makes a lot of sense. A T rex was a natural hunter so would know how to hide its footsteps. But I think she attacked the raptors differently. Rather than entering quietly I think she would have came up the steps and quickly pounced giving no one a chance to spot her. It would just ne odd if she was waiting there. Even if for a short time. When you see her attack the gallimimus she is quick and doesnt hesitate. I believe this to ne similiar to how she would attack the raptors.
I think Rexy's appearance in the Gallimimus paddock can be explained by the fact that the Gallimimus themselves were causing a lot of noise and ground vibrations as they are stampeding. That could easily cover up the stomping of the T-Rex. This is really the only point in the film where she legitimately just appears out of nowhere.
There was a rumor which our fandom is notorious for, that in the theater cut of the film that there was a scene of Roberta bursting through the tarp, but universal and any of the crew that were asked confirmed that no such scene did not exist.
I went to the cinema when I was 7 to watch it, and that DID happen. About 10 years ago, I was so sure, I looked on google, I found a lot of other people remember that scene too. It may have been bursting through the tarp, but, I remember the impact knocking a raptor over. I'm SO sure it exists - I don't know why my brain would make something up like that, especially as a 7 year old. I even remember asking my parents when watching it on video at home where "the wall bursting bit went" - obviously they didn't know what I was going on about, my mom took me to watch it, but she probably wasn't paying too much attention. I remember everything about that movie, and I remember that. It's so annoying other people remember it, but yet it's all denied. Edit* - I also remember the bit that was cut, where Laura Dern leans out of the jeep and picks a large leaf from the wall near the road, which she is holding when they first see the Brachiosaurus.
lapalfan I remember it too. I was 9 years old in ‘93 and I drew pictures of all my favorite moments shortly after seeing it. I don’t have the drawings anymore but I know what I saw. It’s such a weird thing that the studio denies it, why would unrelated people all remember it if it didn’t happen?
the reason why they didn't see rexy coming is simply why would you notice some guy pulling out a gun off to the side when a girl is in front of you waving around a big knife. your so distracted by the girl with the knife that unless rexy had a strob light or syren strap to it you would never notice.

Actually, I want to know why Grant goes limp and drops his arms and head when the raptor pounces. A normal human reaction would be to put your hands up and turn your head. Could it be he was originally going to be eaten and that’s when the CGI animators would have taken over?
I believe that just one theory is one person’s belief and that there are multiple if not multiple theories as to how Rexy got into the Visitor Center. I personally don’t even know and was educated by One Belief and will cause me to look at the movie from another standpoint but as I said before, there could be multiple theories as to how the Tyrannosaurus rex got inside without no one noticing and was able to save our fellow protagonists.
So now that one tarp behind Rexy which is how she obviously got inside of the Visitor Center To Save Grant, Ellie, And The Two Kids could that have been how those 2 Velociraptors had also gotten inside of their or could they have used the actual Front Entrance to get inside and if so wouldn’t Tim And Lex Have Heard That Door Open From Inside Of The Cafe Because I’ve noticed that there’s creaking noises that the Main Entrance Doors will make Whenever They’re Opened Up Or could those 2 Velociraptors have gotten inside the Visitors Center From The Second Floor ???? 🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔 ????

In the new movie I think the dilphoisaurus would go in a phone and make a hole in the glass then our characters would lock the door and it would spit out the hole but then it would stick its claw out then the charecters would run away but more dilphoisarusus would chase but then they find 6 ptranadons nests and when it’s about to strike a ptranadon would zoom grab and attack it and grab it and bring it up then drop then pick it and then drop it so it falls and dies then 11 more ptranadons would come and chase our characters so they run into the old visitor centre and block the door but then another dilphosaurus appears so they activate the hologram and it’s a copy pack so they run and that’s the end of the scene but this is what I think will happen
Some of the gene's used were from the elusive teleporting frog's, so like Nightcrawler she could just pop in and out of places. It's a good thing they didn't use the incredible healing frog's as well :).

I recall something enough the back end of the facility being unfinished and open to the outside.
Rex entered in the back, and came around a larger pathway around and into the tarp entry
At 3:40 you can see the last set if windows beyond the tarp. With a big opening beyond that.
At a guess the down ramps to the garage were originally intended to be side doors onto a veranda type area, but the building design was changed for the location shoot.
I just realized also if you look at 5:38 ish you can kinda see Ellie glance to her her right for sec, which was in the direction of Rexy, meaning she, Grant and the kids backed up so Rexy could make her kill.
The stealth part is super easy to explain even without the gallimimus hunt scene. Go back to the paddock breakout scene. We hear the footsteps and know that something big is getting close but the people in the cars do not hear it, only Tim notices the Rex is getting near and only due to the vibrations in the water. The thumping noice is never acknowledged by anyone in the movie, it is no more likely to alert the characters of danger than a change in background music is.

Great video. I 3D modelled the Visitor Center exterior and rotunda and I can tell you from experience, the set used at stage 12 in Universal Studios for the Rotunda was a lot different than the exterior. The windows inside don't match the exterior, the height of the rotunda is too tall and the overall shape is wrong. The set designers were not too concerned by this and we still talk about the continuity today. Fan's love this stuff :)
The exteriors are different from the interiors because one set was created in Hawaii for outdoor scenes, while the scenes in the interiors were shot in a studio in US. So, inconsistencies would be expected right ?
Right now there's some random set designer in Hollywood watching this video and lamenting that someone finally saw through his b*******. But I have to say the first time I saw this movie I was so surprised when the T-Rex showed up. I was like whaaaaat!?!?!. It's a really well-made scene
The other inconsistency is the T-Rex pen. T-Rex feeds and steps over the cement structure onto the road the ground inside the pen is at eye level. When Grant and the kids go over the edge there is massive drop.
LOL this was what I'm telling my family while watching this as a 7 or like 8 year old of how did he fit in that door? None of them cared, glad you made this now that I'm 26 hahaha!!!! We'll see if Rexy just rolls forwards the entrance door 😅
In areas with severe weather, such as hurricanes, many buildings are built with the dual purpose of emergency shelters. My theory is that the main hall, being a larger building, was supposed to be an emergency shelter for the T-Rex in case of its regular stable being damaged. She found the large opening made for her, behind all the hanging tarp while exploring her new territory. There are zoos already that have similar plans in place for moving animals to designated shelters in emergency. But, what about the bigger dinosaurs like the brachiosaurs, you might say. Well, they travel in herds, the T-Rex is one of a kind, thus representing a bigger loss to the park if she was destroyed.

To me I don't care how the T-Rex got inside that building, all I remember when i was a kid and saw the movie when it first came out and that scene was and still is unforgettable. Rexy took that whole scene and made me love Jurassic Park especially with that banister scene floating right down and Rexy is doing her infamous Roar "When dinosaurs ruled the Earth" Fucking Epic!!!!!!

I never questioned it, her cage was already busted open onto the road and the road led directly to the visitors center, she wouldn't have had to break through any electric fences just those 2 wooden doors the electric cars go through and given the tour was running they may have been open anyway, the big hole she comes through shows palm trees and what looks like an outdoor balcony
If the Visitor Center's front is symmetrical, than those windows are much larger and come down much further than it would appear. @3:25 you can see the completed third window on the right side and it implies the concrete railing looking part is a good three feet tall, hiding the true size.

To me what is hinted at to be a window could be a room leading to a different entrance. This seems to be supported as there is a door on the second floor above the tarps where rexy came in

When a movie is awesome like the first Jurassic Park, inconsistencies and little mistakes are not an annoyance. When they become noticeable into a so so movie, they do.
I always thought that Alan and crew saw Rexy sneaking up on the raptor while they were backing up, thus distracting it.

its literally shown right in the beginning of this video in the raptor battle scene. Look behind rexxy. There's a big open construction hole with tarp in the wall behind her. You can even see the jungle out there. And that opening is no bigger than the gas station overhang that the male rex walked under in JPTLW in the san diego scene. Quite easy to maneuver under.
well actually in the Jurassic park ending Hammond arrived in a jeep so perhaps he forgot to close the garage and she was able to get in...
I heard that the original script didn't have rexy show up at the end. Later in production they decided that she needed to have another moment in the spotlight so they wrote her in. That might be a reason why there are a few inconsistencies in it. the earlier footage was already shot and it would be too expensive to remake. Just a thought to add!
Something I've always noticed but no one else ever seems to point out is that at 4:49 Ellie looks to her right as if she sees the Rex approaching. For some reason when it's slowed down like it is here it doesn't look as obvious as it does at regular speed, but she definitely turns to look in that direction.

Jurassic Park has a lot of inconsistency. I watched Jurassic Park last night and I find that theres a lot of inconsistencies that do mind me, they're distracting.
Perhaps what we're seeing is that the cut we watched is heavily edited (cutting) therefore shots seem to not always blend each other.
Another point I want to bring up that maybe the film editing stage didn't had enough time therefore the film editor couldn't fix the inconsistency with Photoshop editing.
All these are theories, keep that in mind.

I personally think that there are doors at the side that lead into the rotunda, I think the left door is incomplete and and the tarp covers the last window and the opening where the wall is incomplete, I think rexy simply comes into the building through the incomplete wall.
the adrenaline rush is a almost proven thing. you get it when playing some video games or even watching something scary.
There was a scene in Jurassic Park that was in the theater that show Rexy crash thou the wall that had the T-Rex painted on it the she comes crashing thou but when the movie was put on VHS they took that scene out of the movie. That's how she got into the room.
Another issue is that the opening is actually an unfinished window covered with tarp. However if you look at the window from the outside, it is way too small for rexy to fit through. Now the doorways which likely go to the garages are big enough for rexy to fit through. So in my opinion, those doorways actually are side doors, which lead into the main hall, despite being far from the doors, likely they were at the end of those side areas with the windows on each side of the main entrance. So here is what I think happened:
1. Rexy was near the visitors center, and smelled the raptors, so she went there.
2. Rexy, using her high intelligence figures out she can get in through the side doors.
3. Rexy smashes down the side doors, walks through the side area, and rips through the tarp, and tada she is in.
4. Rexy leaves the visitors center the same way.
Maybe it was another entrance at the back or side or something. Maybe those two doors were at the back for the visitors to get out of the visitor centre to the park. Even the skeleton was at a different angle. So probably it was at another side.
To answer the age old question how Rexy got into the Visitor Center from the top of the frame! That's according to Steven in the behind the scenes portion!
Maybe the leftmost window flushes to the right in a curve? Maybe that's not the outside but a mural similar to the one in the dining room illuminated by the hole outside? Makes sense with the architecture, and the window looks like a squeeze for Rexy but at 2:54 you can barely see a construction worker working in the scaffolding next to it. It looks like the concrete slightly hides the height of the window but from a guesstimate based on the size of the scaffolding and the man I'd say it's around 18 ft which explains Rexy ducking so much. The windows look to be slightly thinner, like 12 ft so she may have had to hold her breath going in, which would have made her quiter and a tad bit thinner. As for the sneaking up part, I think you're right with the hunting part, if she was hunting the raptors, notice how squishy her feet are. It's the same principle with humans, when you're just having a walk most things can hear your footsteps, but when you're sneaking around you put the weight on your feet differently, minimizing the effect on the ground and the sound it makes. Also if the window opening does flush to the right, then you wouldn't even see her silhouette until her head touched the tarp, explaining how Grant and friends didn't even notice her coming, with all the ruckus of the raptors and the trying not to get eviscerated by "overgrown turkeys". Just my 2 cents, great video and nice one on picking up on the leftmost window under construction!

Rexy had an extra set of keys to get in. And she left her shoes outside so we couldn't hear her coming in the endscene.
Pretty much used the same tactics on the Carnotaurus. They were focused on the attacking carnotaur to notice Rexy came up.
I like to think that Rexy is a stealthy girl when she wants to be. She's the hero dinosaur of the franchise. It's cool if she has that attribute.

That's the problem with movie viewers nowadays are incapable of suspension of disbelief. That's why it wasn't picked apart back then...there wasn't really any wannabe critics back then. UA-cam really has ruined the viewing experience in my opinion....keep enjoying this series brother...i sure am
I agree with you completely. However I will admit that, no matter how enjoyable a movie (I enjoy MOST movies, even many that are widely considered bad...) may be to myself, I do find it fascinating to analyze things such as this. Recognizing flaws, analyzing plot elements, and just looking deeper into the ideas...as well as discussing it with others. Mentally nourishing, for lack of a better term.
Um there is a difference between suspension of disbelief and the filmmakers thinking that audiences are complete fools and would overlook all kinds of errors and inconsistencies.
Has anyone ever just thought that Rexy got into the visitors center by going into the garage door and it lead to the main area and she then proceeded to eat the raptors???!?!? and technically Rexy can fit threw the garage door opening yeah it’s small but if she rams her head against the door it will make the door big enough for her to get through I dout she came through the tarp???

The way I saw it is that the characters were busy trying to stay alive that nothing else had their focus only the raptor’s who were about to tear that a$$ up.
Those potted plants are inside, so you wouldn’t even be able to see them from behind the tarp outside. But in all, this is a very good video...
I think tgat explenation makes a lot of sense. A T rex was a natural hunter so would know how to hide its footsteps. But I think she attacked the raptors differently. Rather than entering quietly I think she would have came up the steps and quickly pounced giving no one a chance to spot her. It would just ne odd if she was waiting there. Even if for a short time. When you see her attack the gallimimus she is quick and doesnt hesitate. I believe this to ne similiar to how she would attack the raptors.
I think Rexy's appearance in the Gallimimus paddock can be explained by the fact that the Gallimimus themselves were causing a lot of noise and ground vibrations as they are stampeding. That could easily cover up the stomping of the T-Rex. This is really the only point in the film where she legitimately just appears out of nowhere.
There was a rumor which our fandom is notorious for, that in the theater cut of the film that there was a scene of Roberta bursting through the tarp, but universal and any of the crew that were asked confirmed that no such scene did not exist.
I believed that rumor for the longest time until I found out it was false.

I went to the cinema when I was 7 to watch it, and that DID happen. About 10 years ago, I was so sure, I looked on google, I found a lot of other people remember that scene too. It may have been bursting through the tarp, but, I remember the impact knocking a raptor over. I'm SO sure it exists - I don't know why my brain would make something up like that, especially as a 7 year old. I even remember asking my parents when watching it on video at home where "the wall bursting bit went" - obviously they didn't know what I was going on about, my mom took me to watch it, but she probably wasn't paying too much attention. I remember everything about that movie, and I remember that. It's so annoying other people remember it, but yet it's all denied.
Edit* - I also remember the bit that was cut, where Laura Dern leans out of the jeep and picks a large leaf from the wall near the road, which she is holding when they first see the Brachiosaurus.
lapalfan I remember it too. I was 9 years old in ‘93 and I drew pictures of all my favorite moments shortly after seeing it. I don’t have the drawings anymore but I know what I saw. It’s such a weird thing that the studio denies it, why would unrelated people all remember it if it didn’t happen?
the reason why they didn't see rexy coming is simply why would you notice some guy pulling out a gun off to the side when a girl is in front of you waving around a big knife. your so distracted by the girl with the knife that unless rexy had a strob light or syren strap to it you would never notice.

Either way still 25yrs later and this movie is going strong as a stand alone and as a cult classic. Heres for many more jurassic movies in the making “CHEERS!!”

Actually, I want to know why Grant goes limp and drops his arms and head when the raptor pounces. A normal human reaction would be to put your hands up and turn your head. Could it be he was originally going to be eaten and that’s when the CGI animators would have taken over?

I believe that just one theory is one person’s belief and that there are multiple if not multiple theories as to how Rexy got into the Visitor Center. I personally don’t even know and was educated by One Belief and will cause me to look at the movie from another standpoint but as I said before, there could be multiple theories as to how the Tyrannosaurus rex got inside without no one noticing and was able to save our fellow protagonists.
