I'm so glad I watched this because I'm a red wine drinker. I'm going to try it in a different shaped glass and see how I like it. Thanks so much for sharing!

I love the lighter reds/new world Pinots. Thank you for letting me know which glass to use to bring out their best.

Asti! Always learn something new when watching your videos. And as red wine is my preferred choice..... seem to drink most of my wine from a bougogne-type glass. Great video!

The reality is ..... that glass is pretty versatile.
      Thanks for the good words.
      Cheers!!

Great information, Pierre! A wine room is on my wish list - a room to hold all the different wine glasses!!. It’d would be wonderful if you could join us! 😉

I'm embarrassed to say ..... I forgot about responding to this several months ago!!
Can't wait to join you in your wine glass room, your wine cellar, craft room, Christmas room and see a little area set aside for Denny (over close to the sump sump where the radon gas seeps out of the ground)

This video was as informative as always, but I have a question about the universal wine glass you mention that you use when you're not critiquing wine on the road. 're using. you never specify what it is. Could you please provide the what it is and where to buy it details for this glass because I'm just starting to get into wine and don't want to end up with a million different glasses. Thank you, and please keep posting your videos as I find them very useful.

Lol, I love the fact you're eager to keep your kitchen simple. I'm the same way!! With the universal glass, the assumption is that you're not tasting wine to analyze it but simply to enjoy it. It will maximize the aromas and flavors of all your wines (red and white). What I have is an oversized Cabernet Sauvignon glass. You could get that or a Pinot Noir glass. The key is a bigger bowl to expose the wine to more air (good for reds) and a more narrow lip or opening (good for whites).

This is a bit "confusing" because on the scale of red wine intensity, Syrah is at the same level as Cabernet Sauvignon while Zinfandel is at the medium level with Cabernet Franc and Tempranillo. So shouldn't Syrah be consumed with a Cabernet/Bordeaux glass?
