- Hello everyone and welcome to my channel.
In today's video I want to show you how I built my KMP steering wheel replica.
I decided to build this replica for two reasons.
1. I wanted a quite universal steering wheel as an alternative to my 911.
2. I like to reproduce parts that are used in real racing cars.
**********
About Parts used:
- Stering wheel: a.aliexpress.com/_vq6yCv
- PCB: LeoBodnar MicroBBI
- PCB enclosure: 3D printed enclosure inspired by SimLine design from 911 Porsche wheel
- Shifters: 3D printed shifters designed by me
- Steering wheel distance: 3D printed distance designed by me
- Powder coated buttonbox front plate + paddles: 3D model replicaded by me and laser cutted from 3mm aluminium (external company)
**********
Special thanks for:
- Daadoo - for providing powder coated aluminum parts
- SimLine - for providing a new beautifully soldered BBI (the one I was preparing was probably burned or otherwise damaged by me 🥲)

10:09 nice lifehack 👍✌
hey, can you tell me which buttons and those button covers are you using exactly? do they have that quality feel like kmp ones? i can't find those anywhere. Thanks :D
@@Shari_Tejp they are super soft, I don’t like this feeling too much but they just looks closer to one from KMP 🤷🏻♂️

Hey the wheel looks great, do you have such a steering wheel for sale?
Hi. My friend have spare parts to build it. Please write to me on IG or FB, I tell you all you need to know about it.
IG: Mr.Everlost FB: Arkadiusz C. Everlost
Really interesting video!
How did you connect it to your wheelbase? Which part? And which base did you connect it to?
I have VRS base but wheel is connected by usb cable, same as my Porsche wheel. I can connect it to PC and every base as far they dont have closed ecosystem. My friend who also build this wheel use it with Fanatec + Fanatec hub (with usb cable of course). Some people make wireless wheels but I never tried 😅
Do you sell the stl file?? looks super clean, Love it!!
I dont sell my projects yet but write to me on IG (mr.Everlost) Maybe I can help you somehow 🙃
Also interested in the file if possible 🤷♂️
I wish I could find someone to build me a couple simple button plates with a few buttons and no shifters. I have a Momo Mod31, Mod26 and Personal Fitti that an offset 74mm pattern. I don’t drive paddle shift cars with those wheels but I need a like 3 buttons on each. I can’t find anyone in the industry willing to do it.
I still have two sets of parts from this wheel except rim of course :) but not sure if it fits with your wheels
@@MR.EVERLOST I’m new to your channel. Are you actually doing all the building? Like the 3D printing and cutting the carbon?
@@OhItsThat I mainly design parts myself and then print it, or order a cut (aluminum / carbon). I rather do it for my own use, but sometimes I have something for sale 🙃
No Backlit buttons?
No Brake Bias Adjuster?
This kind of original KMP dont have backlit buttons. Brake Bias adjuster I have separately like in Porsche 991.1 GT3-R. Bias is connected to my buttonbox. Soon I will share update of it 😅
How do you connect it to the pc as i saw there is no wire connected to the pc
Hi.
5:56 - there is cable connector on the bottom of the enclosure 😬 maybe one day I will try with wireless but for now all my projects was cable connection
@@MR.EVERLOST No I mean do you connect it to pc directly by a USB or u connect it to your wheel base if so the how ?
@@TechBabu801 no, I connect it directly to PC. VRS don’t have communication connection like BT or USB
can't unterstand how this is actually working. You just soldered all wires together. How is it supposed to know which button you are pressing?
Every button is activated by 1 signal wire and 1 gnd wire. Pcb has 20 signal sockets and 1 gnd, so you have to solder 20 signal wires to the board and make 21 gnd wires like I did. 21 because 20 ends you will solder to each button 1 signal + 1gnd and last wire you need to solder to pcb - that’s why you need one more to use 20 buttons.
Be aware that this replica is for simracing and it is connected to PC, not car computer 🤓
Hola amigo ,donde puedo conseguir la tapa central kmp? Gracias
Only magnetic mounting:

You can print KMP logo as sticker and place them to the magnetic cap
