Beautifully done! Congrats on such a well executed build.
Great build brother! enjoy her!
Perfect build. Good job
The truth is that it is a very nice job.
Congratulations
Nice job dude
Amazing work 👍
I print on automotive carbon film to achieve carbon fiber texture on detail✌
can you print my pieces in full carbon?
Wow very nice
Amazing
WOWWWWW. amazing! will be my next build!! its possible upgrade your engineering in future adding the led for gear shifting and for the pit?
what do you use to connect the wires to the rotary encoders? and what do you use to create the handles
Can you do a video on the H003 Redbull f1 wheel next?
I would love to buy this as a diy kit. I have a 3d printer but I’m going to need some of those medal/carbon parts.
Hello, It is 100% 3d printed, the carbon is only for decoration. :)
@@hteksimulatorengineering
have you thought about selling this wheel as a DIY kit from your company?
Nice Video
Yes, It is planned in the near future, with other wheels also.
Is it a alpine f1 wheel ? Anyway incledible project, really !
Can you do a video on the H005 please?
Nice work, looks great! Did you print the buttons and encoder wheels? I'll be building one for my fanatec 8nm wheel base, can this survive the torque?
Yes they are 3d printed.
So far I have not received any feedbacks from problems while using it with a dd wheel base, so you can give it a shot!😎
@@hteksimulatorengineering My question is, where can I find Al the hardware like the screen and all of that? I’d there any instruction when I buy the files?
@@jeftesantiago there is a list of required/recommended items when you buy the plans.
@@dt2419 Yeah, but I was talking about the store to buy some of the hardware like the magnets or the screen. I ended up using 12mm x 3mm magnets and modifying the .stl file to fit them. I have almost all the parts by now, I only need to print the handles and a couple of parts to start assemble it.
What board do you use for the electrics and what software do you use to program it. I love the look of the wheel absolutely and I definitely want to rebuild it 👏👍
Thank you for the feedback! :) I used Leo Bodnar board for the buttons, and encoders, it is 100% plug and play.
For the screen I used SimHub software.
@@hteksimulatorengineering ok, thank you very much for the quick reply ✌️👍. I‘m looking forward to building!
Hello!! Does this design and configuration work in a fanatec base??
Does the 7 euro file also contain the names and sales addresses of all parts such as displays and buttons
I recently bought the two DIY models, are you guys going to do a video in the H005 version?
It is on the to do list, but we have a very limited capacity right now. :/
Would love to see a good design wheel without any screen...but better buttons and decoder part...got already a vocore dash Board so anwheel without screens would save 1 USB connector and is way more rigid
Send me an email to htek.sim@gmail.com , and I will send you a modified .stl file for the "screenless" version. :)
Hello! It looks awsome! I jus bought the F1 version. I was courious how do you get out on a single cable both: the Leo Bodnar board and the Screen. (Is the screen somehow connected to the board and I am missing it?)
Also, how about the led version for the F1 rim? :D
Also 2: How would you wire the leds as well? - another dedicated board? Or change the board completely?
Hello Vlad,
As I can see, this is the most problematic point for the users. I will make a tutorial about this in the upcoming projects.
Basically you will need two usb cables, that are connected to the 7 or 8 pin DIN connector.
For the LED's the most easiest way is to connect them to an Arduino nano.
@@hteksimulatorengineering I was thinking the same, I was not sure how to use 7 pins, as the 8 pins seems easy. Fot the 7 is like mapping the nulls to the same pin?
Edit: tons of typos
@@vladstefan5772 Exactly, you are correct!
I purchased this but I don’t see a wiring diagram for the DIN GX12/16. Don’t know how to hook it up
Hello Jay,
Thank you for the purchase.
Just wire it up like regular usb cables. You cut one end of the USB cable, solder 4 wires to the 4 pins, and do it with the second cable also. Make sure you solder each color to the exact same pin on the other half of the DIN connector.
Could you give me the buying link to these buttons?
👍
Is no one gonna talk about how sexy this wheel is
Hi! I am trying to build the F1 version. I am not sure how am I supposed to connect the 3 wires that come out of each encoder to the board.. I would really apprrciate some help! Thanks!
Hello Vlad, send me a message to htek.sim@gmail.com and I will help you.
Hi, what software use to design stickers ??
Hello, what kind of paint did you use for the grips? And did you give it a final coat of varnish? Thanks
Hello, Regular plastic spray paint + clear coat as final layer.
@@hteksimulatorengineering Thanks 🤙🏻
I wouldn't rely on dupont jumper style connections on something like this. They're horrible at staying in place and even if they do, the constant movement will loosen the connection.
I'm sure it'll be fine for a little while but it won't take long to before you get intermittent connection issues.
Get yourself some silicone wire, remove the header pins on the board and solder directly.. At the very least, use some hot glue to prevent movement of the connectors.
You are definetly correct, it needs some hot glue, otherwise you will have connection problems in the future, because of the vibrations.
@@hteksimulatorengineering You can get black hot melt sticks to make it look like "backyard job".. my favourite thing about hot melt is that you can give me a quick spray of IPA and the bond releases immediately.. As soon as the IPA has evaportated, the bond strength returns.
I wonder how full 3d printed wheel behave on dd like sc2. Most of diy wheels start with a metal front plate.
Def not correct... LOADS of retail & diy wheels are either all 3d printed or made only with composites!
I encourage you to try it... Depending on the feedbacks, we will add metal reinforcement option also if needed. :)
I bought the files but I wish there was more wiring help, specially for powering both the screen and leo bodnar board with the GX12 7 pin connector. Can you help me with that at all? Cheers!
Hello Alex,
I've sent you an email with additional wiring diagrams. :)
@@hteksimulatorengineering Hi mates! I just bought it too and i want help the the wiring diagrams! I've just sended you an email
@@wikanderson I have sent you the details.
Did you get the files? I'm kinda lost too.
@@hteksimulatorengineering Hello, is it possible to have the same additional wiring diagrams please ?
And bom of eletronics?
How much does it cost to make this whole steering wheel. What wheelbase do you use and do you think ill be able to create everything with minimal computer skills?
It depends on what you already have at home, but I would say about 200 euros, if you start from basically zero. I am using a T300RS. I think you can build it without any problem. :)
H005 video please?
Sry if someone asked itr already, which boards did you use?
Leo Bodnar BU0836A with breakout board
Please make a video for h005,006,007 series.
I'm trying to buy the blueprint of Sim Racing Steering Wheel H005 this time. How much will it cost to make this? I have no experience making something like this, is it difficult to make this?
The whole build will cost you around 150-200 euros.
On what paper did you print the stickers? Do you have a plotter?
Just a regular sticker paper, and have cutted out everything with scissors to show that it can be done at home. :)
Our main goal is to provide sim racing stuff that can be build with tools found at an average household.
What board do you use for display?
VoCore 4” screen.
Broooooo that's cool ❤❤❤ but I don't understand the circuit. Pls If you have a diagram sent to me
It looks great! Can I put the wheel on a logitech g920?
Yes, you can put it on a g920.
@@hteksimulatorengineering Do I need an adapter or something for that?
@@kingston3452 Yes, you will need a Logitech quick release adapter for this. You can find many on Cults3D or Thingiverse. :)
This works on ps5?
The eletronic components where i can find? Which 3d software is?
You can purchase them directly from Leo Bodnar, or Aliexpress. :) By the 3d software, what do you mean?
@@hteksimulatorengineering in the video i can see a program with the structure of the steering wheel. Which program is?
Any posible update for leds?
Yes, there will be an update soon.
Official mod will be also available, because I've got feedbacks that community mod might not fit perfectly in all conditions.
the €7 file included paddle shifter or i have to purchase it separately?
Shifters can be purchased separately. :)
This really needs shift lights imo
how much does it cost to make this estimate
Which material have you used for the 3d printing?
For the handles and encoders, I've used water washable resin, for the other elements regular PLA.
@@hteksimulatorengineering Thanks for the answer and a quick other question: Am I seeing it right that you use the GX connector to combine the two USB cables (from display and leo bodnar) into one
@@SK-wr5bj Yes, you are seeing it correctly! :)
is there a part list in you shop files?
Yes, parts list is included in the assembly guide.🙂
The Handles look very rectangle. Has anyone who has real sim experience tried it for a couple of hours in the sim and can tell me if that wheel is comfortable? Don't want to spend the time and money on something that is not well taught trough. Thanks!
whats the price for total wheel to create ?
How do you connect the screen? It's not shown in the video or in the instructions
They went out of business.
You connect the usb to an internal usb hub, along with the electronics board, then that goes to your GX12 or GX16. I can help you. send me a pm or EM.
Beautifull video!!, one question, which screen hace you used¿?
Thank you, it is a Vocore 4" screen.
you sell the wheel?
How much did it cost though
The whole build as you can see on the video cost me about 200 Euros, but it will depend on how much material, you already have at home. You can build it for less, and also you can use more expensive parts, which will increase the price.
why don't you provide the code for the buttons for those who don't know how to program?
Hello,
The wheel is 100% plug and play, you don't need to code if you are using Leo Bodnar board. :)
I am contacting you by this means since I have not received an answer by mail. I bought your design and I would need to overcome several doubts that I ask you in the mail, would you be so kind as to solve the problem for me?
Hello, Sorry to get back to you so lately, I was busy. I will respond to your email as fast as i can.
Since the creator has gone MIA and removed alot of add ons for these wheels, if anyone needs help with this wheel or the HTEK 005, feel free to reach out to me.
Could i maybe get the stl files for free ?
What Is the full price of the build?
It is about 200 Euros, but it will depend on how much material, you already have at home. You can build it for less, and also you can use more expensive parts, which will increase the price.
And it's only 6 euro, I don't believe
For the files you dingus
Hi
the electrical scheme is so minimalist nothing is understood ! you can conect nothing with the scheme! the are no wiring for bottons, no wiring for screen! please update it. i bought it just for the scheme, so disappointed
There is a colored wiring diagram for how to connect the buttons to the Leo Bodnar board. The VoCore screen is plug and play, you don’t need a wiring diagram for it.
The only thing you might miss is how to connect the usb wires to the DIN connector, which will be updated soon.
@@hteksimulatorengineering rotter buttons have 5 legs, on you diagram there is only 4 pin , one wire that are showing where to connect, but its doest show how and where to connect each leg! and when the other scheme will bw updated?
Bocsáss meg, de jól látom, hogy magyar vagy? Végre valaki kis hazánkban, aki ilyesmivel foglalkozik...
Igen, hamarosan érkezik pár új projekt is. :)
@@hteksimulatorengineering Már nagyon várjuk meg gondolom minden magyar is .
It does not work.
Its just for show.Who builds a F1 steering wheel just to stare at it?
Bozo.
wdym?
Was with you 1000% till i saw the hydro-dipped carbon fiber 🤢 why go to all the trouble making such a nice wheel to then do that? Honestly, skinning with prepreg carbon fiber isn't that difficult or that much extra labor... Or at least buy a premade sheet and cut as needed!
Otherwise really nice build!
It is 100% your choice how you want to cover or not to cover the wheel. For this build, I've used hydro-dipping to see how it looks after a few months of usage.
I was also kept the prepreg carbon fiber on the possibilites, but it would corrupt all the size tolerances of the build unfortunately.. :(
For experimenting, in the future I will make an easier design 100% out of carbon fiber. :)
i bought this diy project but i need more help. I have sent you an email, hope you will reply me soon
Hello,
I have sent you a reply, have a nice day. :)
