8 MORE Reasons Why I Still Love CDs!

I had posted a video a while ago where I spoke about 8 reasons why I still loved CDs. Well, the more I thought about it, the more I realized that there were even MORE reasons why I still collect compact discs. In this video, I go over some of those very reasons.
There has been a lot of talk over recent years about a CD resurgence. Is there really a full blown CD comeback? The sales numbers would certainly suggest that. But even if there wasn't a renewed interest in CDs, I think it would still be my preferred format for new releases. When my favorite band or singer releases a new album, I almost always choose to buy it on compact disc.
Of course, it goes without saying that the sound quality of CDs is second to none. That's a big reason. I also do not like streaming. It was simply never my thing. If other people prefer streaming, that's fine. But I think I am much more a fan of tangible media. Not only do I love listening to compact discs, I also love collecting them.
Lots of folks today also love vinyl. I have said before that I love vinyl as well. Especially used vinyl. But I find new vinyl is just way too expensive. Incredibly so. As I have said before, why would I pay $50 for the vinyl version of a new release when I can buy the same release on CD for almost a quarter of that price?
People may complain that CDs take up too much room. They are bulky and not very portable. I get that. But with CDs you also have the option of always being able to rip the source and put the music on multiple devices. If a streaming site takes down a favorite album there's not much you can do about that. But with a compact disc, you always have the source, and can rip it as many times as you wish.
Being an artist myself, I also strongly feel that if you truly want to support an artist and show them how big of a fan you are, buy their CD. It is no secret that many artists are horribly underpaid for streams. It is pathetic how little of a cut the artist gets, even from thousands of streams. As I mention in the video, it is also impossible for an artist to autograph a stream. But CDs are perfect for signatures!
