I remember when this game got 10's everywhere. One of the best fighters ever.
The animation is fantastic, even by 2023 standards. Absolute masterclass.

I will never stop to admire and praise Dreamcast textures capability. Sometimes they look even better (more polished, clean and better colored) than those of most Xbox games. I mean 8:04, look at that cobblestone pattern on the floor, it still looks amazing and hyper detailed! Sometimes I dream of a Resident Evil 4 with that sharpness!
Too bad for the average polys power that makes all a bit flat, though (in this case especially faces are quite minimalistic).

I come back to this video way too often. After having watched the choreography many times already, I just let it run in the background and listen to the epic music and fight sounds. Thanks for the hard work with it. SC1 was such a masterpiece and I'm glad to have experienced it on launch day. I still can't believe a game looked like this pre 2000.

Not gonna lie,these days playstation is my new gaming home but sega is still my place to be,still have the dreamcast and this gem of the game in working order,i'm gonna fire it up during the holiday,damn how i miss sega these days,no way i'm settling for an underpowered pos switch,i'd rather play this or die in a desert for real!
I was a Sega kid since genesis was the first console i ever owned. Thanks for the old memories friend. I fire up my 360 version from time to time but its missing a lot of the features. I may try and get into emulation to see if i can relive my nostalgic days

At the time this was far and away the best animation and graphics I'd ever seen on a console. By a long way. And honestly I still reckon this is really cool. The motion capture truly holds up. Whoever they got to do it really, really nailed it. Any new fighting game that doesn't have character demos like this always seems like a bit of a shame to me.
This is actual hardware?! This looks amazing! I would have thought this was Soul Calibur from Xbox or GameCube. How important is the upscaler in making it look like this?
That's what was so impressive about dreamcast. It was literally a less powerful version of PS2 GameCube and Xbox. But close enough that it was a universe away from PS1 N64 and Saturn. It blew everyone's minds since it came out years earlier than the other 6th gen consoles because Sega wanted that advantage in technology. It didn't help them survive in the console market but it surely blew me away as a kid
And when Soul Calibur 2 was released, the women either dressed more skimpily or they had breast implant surgeries. In the case of Ivy, it was both...

Uno de mis juegos favoritos pero cuando los personajes hacial las katas me parece que no habia musica todo en silecio era mas perron. Y ahora descargado el demo de Street fighter 6. El Tekken 8 se ve de lujo.

Do a comparison with the Xbox 360/ps3 re-release of soul calibur with the dc original that’d be interesting?
I also had this in mind because i own the XBOX 360 game. I put it on my 'to do list'.
