He is so on fire at this gig. Unbelievable.
The best singer ever!!!
His session guitarist is amazing ,one of the best unknown players i have ever herad
Michael O'Neill!
Amazing George Benson
so Great so Good
Being With You. Eye-popping guitar work. My oh my. How do you explain that? Off the charts
This is a legendary moment of music
Quincy Jones says George is the greatest vocalist and guitarist he’s ever seen.
And Quincy would be right
Certainly !!!
Quincy knows 👍🏾
C'est vrai
He wouldn't be far wrong either
genious
Such great music. You won't hear anything like this coming out of today's so called musicians.
True for typical commercial pop. No doubt. And there never will be. But you should check out a band called Dirty Loops
Khruangbin check them out dude.
Amazing sound live.
Sensacional...
what a great man! Thank you so much for uploading !
What a guitar player ;he shreds faster than metal guys on really heavy strings with no distortion effect to make it easier. Also his picking is dead accurate and pushes the tempo with great jazz blues phrasing and a complete knowledge of the instrument, just wow.
True story! I'm always amazed when rock and metal fans call their genre guitarists the greatest..😲🙄🤣... jazz fusion my friends! George Benson, McLaughlin, Metheny, Holdsworth, Coryell, Connors, Di Meola, Stern, Shawn Lane, Govan, Scofield, etc etc...light years ahead with skills and innovation creativity and solos mastery
Goddamn, this is incredible. Some of the best musicians on the planet... but man, whoever engineered this live recording deserves and award! wow
THANKS! (I)! JAZZ! ENGINEERED! THIS! (JAZZ!MUSIC)! CONCERT! WITH! THE! JAZZ! GREAT! (GB)! &! THIS! (MERCURIAL)! JAZZ!MUSIC! (PERSONELL)! LIKE! (!)! ENGINEER! (ALL)! &! (ONLY)! JAZZ!MUSIC!!! CONCERTS! LIKE! THIS! ONE! NOW! YOU! KNOW! THE! ORIGINAL! (JAZZ!MAN)! BLACK!MAN! 🙂*MIKE! SPENCE! HA! HA! HA

Musicians like this are almost extinct. . Awesome bravo 👏 people forget just how good Benson was. Very talented him and his band.
I want know who are that 150 idiots that had pushed dislike, the doesnt know what means music of high class.
I've been listening to Benson since I saw him at the Pythodd Room in Rochester, New York in 1972. When he sang, he didn't even use the microphone. His voice covered the whole room; it was amazing. He's always exciting, fresh and inspiring--a true genius.
Long live Benson!!
George Benson is the most successful crossover Jazz musician in history.
TheTranslator100 u right about that - while others play in clubs, he still fills arenas like a pop star @ 70 yrs. old. Just wonder how long he can keep going... but, when he passes along he will leave a monster catalog.
j rock
He'll keep going as long he's healthy, which should be a few years yet. I don't think he's into the drug thing like most guitar gods, which should help his longevity in the business. When he passes, he'll be considered the greatest Jazz guitarist in history; not only because of his chops, but for being the *only* strait-up Jazz guitarist who's attained an equal level of stardom in both the R&B/Pop and Jazz genres...
Patrica Neary Amen to that my sister - mayb i can learn how to play the guitar from him
TheTranslator100 So true, only him can make the Jazz groove like this. He is an incredible performer and a classic jazz musician in the same time.
After playing guitar for 35 years I finally met my inspiration to play, George Benson, at NAMM 2015 after dinner, we had a great conversation... wow...
Did he talk to you about the Bible?
@@classicartfoundation639 LOL
@@classicartfoundation639 i was George's personal assistant and valet in the 80's, he is a jehovah's witness but never once tried to convert me, he is a gentleman and a great man to converse with.
@@classicartfoundation639sorry my friend….we are only looking for needles in a hay stack.
Thanks for posting this video.👊🏿
He got blessed twice! Once to be a Guitar god then he must have sneaked back in the queue to get that amazing voice
Im 20 now and i wish more people like him, he is a pure hearted angel who brought us really music
And then a 3rd time to get looks, or maybe a deal with the devil?

For real tho. He is truly a musical marvel...
Annoyingly, these truly gifted artists often also sing like you ever wished for yourself, like it wasn't enough with the exceptional talent they already got, but sure, we can also sing to rub it in even more! :)
Tonight I discover this music. And what a beautiful night. :) :) :) Thanks for sharing, and respect.
How is it possible to play guitar this well and seemingly effortlessly?
Lots of practice. Somebody that toured with him told me that he would go to see him in his hotel room and found him asleep with the guitar laying on him I love the energy that he had in his early career Unbelievable player
I'm looking for the button to give more thumbs ups in every song, where is it?
Same here ;)
He was Playboys nominated number one vocalist AND number one guitarist in 1977. He's still amazing as ever! His guitar licks are seemingly endless and flows so naturally from him. Definately the BEST R&B/jazz/bop player ever imho.
That's like watching a super hero playing the guitar. Beyond human.

An utterly brilliant and utterly unique musician dripping with virtuosity, intelligence, fire, artistry, joy, harmonic depth etc. One of the very best if not THE best!
I know no other jazz guitarist/vocalist who has taken their craft to this level - Especially when you consider that he is a veritable virtuoso at the entire range of jazz guitar history from the swing era, the great American songbook, to bebop, to post bop/acid jazz, funk/soul, organ trio, contemporary, etc.
Let's see Mark Knopfler top that!
Mark is great but I'm sure he knows his place ..lol 😆
who can play the guitar and sing they way he does?? No one - a true master! and look at the sweat, what an a amazing performer
My very first time I saw George perform live in the opera house in New Zealand many years ago to long to remember when in my young teens. Wow Wow
I am now 63yrs old he has always been my favourite and most amazing guitarist one of the best that ever held a guitar
Happy 80th Birthday to one of the greatest guitarists EVER!! To all those interested, George will be performing at.NJPAC in June 2023; saw this man perform at the State Theatre in New Brunswick, NJ a few years ago & was blown away!!💘 🎶
I just saw George in Sydney 2 days ago (14/4/22). At 79 years old, he cant move like that any more and he didn't do anything that technical when he played but that voice is still like silk and he can still get the audience up and dancing, clapping and singing along and Michael O'Neill is still playing with him. Just brilliant.
Listening to this genius with a wide smile in the face all the time. THIS is the real deal music!
THE REAL DEAL BENSON! YOU SAID IT BEST!
Doing what you Love and were created to do and doing it at the tip-top level tends to cause joy.........
He’s almost as good as Keith Richards!!!!
Definitely one of greatest guitar players who dose not receive the recognition he deserves.. Unbelievable...
Ridiculous talent. To sing like that and play the guitar like that, he's so blessed and so are we to listen to it! xxx
After watching many hours of George Benson live footage, I have come to the conclusion that this is probably his most amazing recorded live performance. It's literally unfair how good he was playing in this concert. My favorite line so far is 41:34 to 41:43
Just wait till you get to On Broadway…
@@JacobMcCaslin yep he destroys on that song. With clean tone no less
Good mornig sorry not costestig foto workinhg Rodolfo lawers en Tijuana baja California México look a GEORGE BENSPN 1980 EN SPORTS ARENA SAN DIEGO CALIFORNIA. GOOD GUITARS OK
Hi @@RodoSanchez-zz4mb is it on UA-cam?? Gracias🎵🎶🎼
The North Sea Jazz concert (2007 or around that time) is also insane.
Great performance with top musicians. In his 40s at this performance, Benson's polished rhythms and scat singing in unison while playing his guitar is something that very few artists can do. His blazing runs, octave progressions, and rhythmic singing is the reason he is at the top of his music genre and will remain so and why he is still going today.
"In your eyes", he demonstrates that his singing is still the reason his fans love him.
I was hoping he would pick up his guitar and give us a great solo at the bridge of the song, but not this time.
" The Greatest Love of all", which he recorded first in '77, but Whitney Houston popularized it into a great hit in '85, is sung with great feeling and delivery. as only he can do.
Playing Dave Brubeck's "Take Five" during the encore, more blazing runs with incredible picking performance in that 5/4 tempo, with a great sax solo. ...ending with his classic hit.."On Broadway".....
." and they're wrong, I know they are...cuz I can play dis here GUITAR, and I won't quit until I'm a star...on Broadway".
Certainly, I would have to agree that he IS the new BOSS GUITAR!
What a fantastic comment..with sincerity..
+SuperCarver2011 FEW? TELL ME OTHER HAHAH benson is from another world or something
+SuperCarver2011 I agree!!!!

Mr. George Benson, espectacular, increíble MÚSICO. Una delicia. La banda músicos increíblemente brillantes.
When the GOAT compliments your guitar playing, you can call it a day.
I just wanna say, in my humble opinion: George Benson on this performance, is absolutely electric ⚡. God Bless You, George and your Family on this 4th. Of July 🎆. ☮️❤️💜
He is so underrated.
Benson is not a good guitarist. He is a GREAT one! (gotcha :))

George in the zone like no other. Happy 80th birthday! Thank you for the memories. "Love Ballad" here is on another planet. 🙏
He is so good it almost flows without realizing that he makes the moves. Magico! Flawless when other guitarist or musicians come in. He's ultrafast but it's not just fluff, but syncopation. Awesome
Good job, highly recommend. Benson is much more than a musician, singer, and composer, he's an entertainer.
George Benson, fantástico guitarrista, uno de los mejores y gran cantante, su interpretación en "Take Five" Suma cum Lauda.
This is god level guitaring, singing and performing. And everyone in that room is having the time of their lives, which helps!
What a Band. My God.
...and they all look so genuinely happy to be performing. From the soul.
Me alegro el dia una magnifica interpretacion gracias. Cantante y musicos de la ostia. Top level thank you !!!
Most of the people know George Benson as the singer of "Give me the night"... Then you discover that he is a real musical genius and a true guitar master!
Well truthfully most people know Benson is the masterful guitarist then they find out hes also an amazing singer

Oh the days of great music.
my goodness I had no idea this man was this epic when I was growing up. He might be the single most talented performer ever in history. the vocals, the stage presence THE GUITAR PLAYING. He is now my MOST FAV artist and I don't even like this type music lol
I'm guessing Garfield took Barnaby's position not long after this show.
They often switch back and forth …. I think 🙏🏽
GEORGE BENSON Live in concert is all well and good.... but for me the concert starts here 1:24:30
Thank you Mr. Benson, thank you Montreux. Great music from one of the best guitar player the world ever knew
George is timeless.
Actually is a God but very 80s
George Benson is a legend in his own time! Amazingly talented musician! He started me wearing Reebok tennis shoes, in 1982! Love him!😉🥰🙏
@@itaMARTI98 His Top-40 hit songs are very 80's. His vintage Jazz guitar playing is very 1940's Bebop. The general listening audience wouldn't have a clue.
@@josephblow5946because the general listening audience is only interested in watered down music which requires minimal talent with a focus on product and selfies. Good example - Beyoncé passed Chick Corea 2 years ago on the Grammy list (chick had 24). It’s not even a contest as to who is a better overall musician.
A Jazz guitar legend and a Top-40 singer in one package.
Top 40? Try again
Love Ballad ♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️ great performance!!! My favorite!!! Amazing artist... Thank you Master George
Amazing....George Benson is my favourite....magic guitar and wonderful voice...a true inspiration

O cara tem o trabalho de postar, enumerar todas as músicas, por o tempo, dar toda a ficha do espetáculo.
O mínimo que se pode fazer é dar parabéns...
