+hydra333 And this is the point... This "manera"... He was undoubtedly a great technician with incredible breath control, but he had an unbearable "manera" to me - he changed the colour of his voice in passages in a very ugly way - wobbling and "tweedling", slithering over the notes... I can't find a better term for it in English which isn't my native language. But this "manera", audible to less or greater degree in all his renditions, made his singing, excellent from the technical point of view, rather ugly, a bit parochial, tacky...
@@songelosodelzefiro2102 exactly! I almost feel as he choosed to sing that ugly, and for me that's what makes it beauty, his election for it. Obviously, if I were him, I would have loved to keep that incredible technical proficiency, and all he has that is amazing, but in a more elegantly way. Florez, besides being much more elegant, sings in a restricted way, he's not free at choosing how to sing a certain phrase, coloratura, note or anything, he has to do it in certain way or it won't work for him. A mixture of both could be astounding for me.
A ver.....párate y ponte a cantar.....y luego habla.
