That last line, "We're bigger than we've ever dreamed", is especially appropriate for Pentatonix at this point in their career. After winning the Sing-Off TV show in 2011, the record company that awarded them a contract as part of their winnings turned around and immediately dropped them - "there's no market for acapella music." But they didn't give up, decided to showcase their talent on UA-cam, and never looked back. This video was uploaded to YT in late 2013, just a couple of years after the record company fiasco, and they were already becoming very popular as YT artists.
They are freaking amazing. They sound so beautiful and the fact you can see it in the way they sing and there Demeanor the love to do what they do. It’s not a money based thing, like that’s not there main focus and it shows in there songs. The first time I heard them I went on about a 2 hr binge listening to them. I know have loads of my friends and even my mom listening to them.
Mitch, who was singing lead, has a once in a generation voice. And if you are unaware, will get you with a fabulous Mitch slap, often. If you are not familiar with this, check out the video of 13 times Mitch's voice has caught you unaware. Plus, if you ever get the chance, go see them live.
Kevin Olusola, the incredible beatboxer does a cover of “Down” by Marion Hill. Not to be missed. I’m sure you’d enjoy it. Thanks for all your great reactions!
Great reaction to a great Pentatonix video. Thank you. They are bigger than they ever dreamed. It must be surreal to them that they have gotten to do so much in such a short period. They were part of MusiCares event to honor and celebrate the icon Joni Mitchell on Friday night. They felt honored to be invited to perform at such a star-studded event. They are still humble and grateful even after all that they have accomplished. Subscribed and looking forward to more Pentatonix.
Interesting little fact about the name of the song. Lorde said she saw a National Geographic magazine cover of a baseball player surrounded by people holding out baseballs. The player was wearing a uniform that said Royals. The picture was of George Brett the best player in Kansas City Royals history. He gave her a signed jersey when she was on tour in the Kansas City area.
11 years of being a Pentaholic I've learned a lot but one thing is for sure.....the best/favorite PTX song is whichever one you are currently listening to lol!
If you haven't heard their version of Jolene with Dolly parton, I'd recommend that one. It's really good. I know you said you wanted to know more Acapella groups too, so I'd say check out the Butts remix from Home Free and maybe We Don't Talk About Bruno from VoicePlay. They're all really amazing
I subscribed to your page for your usual reactions but as a Pentaholic I am so happy you are discovering them. I won't recommend any; just keep picking the ones that look interesting to you, they don't have a bad song.
have you ever heard of Voice Play.... they are another self made acapella group that started on UA-cam I love them as much as I do Pentatonix ..... their best covers are This is Halloween, Dream On and We don't talk about Bruno
You really need to react to Anchor! It's Fire! I watch your reactions when ever they come on. I think you will like the new album The Lucky Ones. Thanks!
I love your reactions. Please consider reacting to Love Me When I Don't... Seasons of Love (live from PBS 4th of July celebration last year)... Butter x Dynamite
We Pentaholics have a saying, “Our favorite PTX song is the one we’re listening to right now”. Sounds like you’re coming around.

Kevin & Avi (now Matt) are really the backbone. That is a good way to put it.
When Avi comes out with his deep bass and then the drop...wow...it really picks up... He and Kevin are the 'meat & potatoes' of the group....
As always, they make it their own. Especially the last part in their regular clothes.

This was one of their early covers after winning the SingOff. Amazing group.

Yeah, totally! Much as I absolutely adore Mitch (❤️!!!)...to me this song is all about AVI! Meat and potatoes, baby! Meat and potatoes...

Kabir, thank you for your reaction, to Pentatonix and the song Royal. Pentatonix was amazing, and the song was really a masterpiece.
I love this song ... they did an excellent job

Pentatonix are wonderful. You’ve got a really good voice too!
Bigger than they ever dreamed and I’m so happy for them (& us!)
Can we talk about Avi’s bass line 🤯
Yes please, all day long

That was interesting. Thank you for sharing.
I always to laugh when I hear this story because the team was named after a annual livestock show they have in kansas city.

Recommend their Midnight In Tokyo and I Just Called To Say I Love You.
I definitely agree with another reactor who stated that his favorite PTX song was the one he's listening to at the time.
Mitch looks and sounds great it must have been before his cancer ! They all sound great
If you like Avi in this one you should check out his solo stuff I recommend Change on the Rise and then go from there he has an amazing voice.
It's a YES for me
For Kevin beatboxing insanity try their original "Love Again" or New original "Coffee in Bed"
We say that also lol! That was fun!

I see you can sing too! Very nice!
You should check out Pentatonix "Wizard of ahhhs" 🤯🤯 They take modern songs to tell the story of wizard of oz!
If you like a capella, you need to check out Voiceplay! The theater kids of the a capella world are super fun. Check out thier Queen in 5 minutes.
🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
I can’t listen to this song without thinking of Weird Al Yankovic’s cover of this tune “Foil”. Sorry, it’s drilled into my head.
Same
And now for Weird Al's Foil! 💜
If you like Mitch, you need to see the Singapore video that a fan shot. Mitch hits the stratosphere and Avi knocks the amps out.
have you ever heard of Voice Play.... they are another self made acapella group that started on UA-cam I love them as much as I do Pentatonix ..... their best covers are This is Halloween, Dream On and We don't talk about Bruno
I have heard the group on another reaction channel The Other Side Of Squirrel, sister channel to Hey Look Squirrel.
They are a fantastic group.
If you get an chance listen to Take 6
Try "Foil" by Weird Al Yankovic
If you want to check out a funny version listen to Weird Al "foil"
You have to remember it's ALL VOCALS!! No instruments.
Kabir, they’re PENTATONIX not THE PENTATONIX! FYI
