- How do London's soup dumplings stack up against the originals in Shanghai? It's the Xiaolongbao (siulungbao/小笼包) Showdown: Shanghai vs London.

FINALLY some Brit understands d Chinese's PAIN of living in England where decent Chinese food is goddamn hard to find!!! it is always amusing when seeing d Westerners enjoying western style non-Chinese 'Chinese food' though........ TT

I really enjoyed this. Hope to see more.
小籠包在台灣很普遍,可以當早餐、點心、宵夜,平均一籠8粒40元,約人民幣8元。
More please!
Interesting video. Like others have said you definitely went to wrong places by going to restaurants in China town in London. The best xiao long bao I have had in London was at a restaurant called Pearl Liang at Sheldon square. In fact they make the best Xiao long bao I've ever tasted and I've been to Shanghai many times and had them there. My wife is Chinese and has lived in Shanghai all her life in and she agrees too. Its more expensive compared to Shanghai but still ok for London restaurant prices. £5 for 3. I highly recommended that restaurant. Their other Chinese food tastes amazing too. Yauatcha is Soho is also another excellent Chinese restaurant and has a Michelin star award but they don't serve xiao long bao. Prices are ok if you mostly stick to the Dim Sum menu. Anyway, I recommend never go to anywhere in Chinatownn. Go to one of these two restaurants instead. They are on a different planet.
I have not been to the restaurant you recommend in Shanghai but will do next time I go. Thanks for that.
nice vid :D
great vid!
Dumplings fever
I quite like Royal China. It's not in China Town, but they've got amazing dumplings :)
Just when you think that soup dumplings are amazing, pan fried soup dumplings then would be on a completely another level!
No offence, but London Chinatown restaurants are crap in general!
China town is a tourist trap in the busiest part of central, you shouldn't go there if you want good chinese food. Especially the main road, it's good for a novelty though.

Yes, paying attention - is important!
My grandparents make the best dumplings, biased as I am.
i love shanghai xiaolong bao london brother
The Chinatown in London looks depressing... Nothing but a little themed area for tourists who think they're getting authentic chinese food. The Chinatown(s) in NYC tho? They have so real chinese food 👌
It looks Londonized! ...And ...and after Brexit, probably, it would be looking more optimistic!..
Very interesting views of London! It sounded humorously, like the ridiculous prices for the Chinese cuisine cooked in ridiculous way… I was about to say, but you pronounced it yourself: the best Chinese dumplings are in China… That was my assumption, which you confirmed. And my personal experiences follow in the same logic: the best Japanese food - in Japan; Israeli - in Israel; Italian pizza - in Italy; and so forth… Although, lo and behold: some of the best falafels I tried were, actually, in Colombia! But, possibly, falafels are, actually, from South America!?..
You barely scratched the surface, just went to a handful of places on Gerrard Street. And you entirely left out the best dumplings in Chinatown which are to be found at Jen Cafe, visible in the background at around 3:25. Abysmal failure of a video, especially considering you flew all the way out there.
dont see the point of the video tbh-you have to pick a location and just do the best of there.i'm definitely not going to shanghai just to eat dumplings
