That's a throwback to the war when US soldiers were based in Britain. Unfortunately, we were under rationing rules due to the ships being brought in getting blown up crossing the Atlantic. This coloured the stories the GIs took back with them. Some stereotypes take years to put right
I’ve got to say what a fantastic video that was. I was a London, black cab driver for 31 years and still hold my badge and you encapsulated great places to eat in one short video. There are so many more places (which are cheaper to eat at)which many London cabbies use ,for your next visit. Free tennis lesson next time you come over! 👍🎾
Such kind words, thanks Dennis!! Will take you up on that free tennis lesson (and some of your reccomendations too) when we're in London next. Have to pick your brain about The Knowledge too cuz it still boggles our minds 😆
This is exactly the list of restaurants/chippys I was looking for- am returning to London after 35 years. Nearly all of my regular places are gone or forgotten. THANKS!!
1:18 a MUST. I dont live in London, but go to E Pellici EVERYTIME i am in town. They are always welcoming, and somehow always remember me. The mom’s bread pudding is the bomb, and i always leave there with a tea to go and a little snack for later. They have been around for 124 years for a REASON.
This is the first of your videos that I’ve seen, and I’m looking forward to seeing more. I was enjoying it all already, and then, near the end, a SONDHEIM reference! Obviously, you are young. I hope that life has been kind to you… and I kind of hope that you never have to “learn”.
Now that I started looking at your Paris vlogs, I got curious about your London experience too because I’ve lived there on two separate occasions. E Pellicci for breakfast, Four Seasons for Chinese, and Blacklock for Sunday roast were all good moves. You seem to need help for the next time you’re in Borough Market, Indian restaurants, and I would suggest a number of other excellent Sunday roast spots in addition to Blacklock.
I liked the English breakfast but when looking for a restaurant in a hurry, it was mostly ethnic food like Pakistani or Indian food. Fish and chips were good, but too greasy & heavily battered. Finally, found a pub with better food. Now, the tea and scones were superb! I come from the U S south where the food is the best, imo. However, I always eat the local foods whenever I travel. I was impressed with Scotland’s Salmon and Lamb Stew.
My food experience of London is to find a Tesco's or other, small convenience shop and buy a sausage roll for under £2. Or take sandwich I made at home.
Thanks ! I’m more relieved I’m going to London in July and many people tell me that don’t like the food but the variety you showed I’m sure I’ll be fine ❤
This is exactly the list of Restaurants/Chippys, I was looking for - am returning to London after 25 years. Nearly all of my regular places are gone or forgotten. "Thanks"!!! 😍🇵🇭
Kanada-Ya, our favorite Ramen in London. The branch you’ve been is the best one too. Do you have any more suggestion Ramen-wise? We were going to shoot a video for our channel about ramen bars in London but struggling to find very good ones. 🙏🏻
There’s a really good chain of restaurants called Shoryu. There’s a couple of branches in Central London. They’re a bit on the pricey side but their ramen is top quality.
You both were amazing and this is an awesome video filled with needed information for 1st time travelers to London. I loved the foods that you had shared in this video. Will try most of it definitely, it is so yummy to look and waiting to taste them. Deeply appreciate your great work, keep rocking and best wishes for more videos.
Thank you for this information! I have enjoyed this very informative video and I can't wait to get back to London after only being there for 1 day on a tour.
Some cool spots, but i'd be broke if i ate at all these places!! Give me a Greggs, Wetherspoons, Nandos, the local chippy and a Tescos Meal Deal instead 😀
Just returned from London. Had an amazing meal at Da Mario's restaurant in Covent Garden. Wasn't really expecting to eat Italian, but so much of the pub fare was really terrible.
whenever im traveling to a place, i'll always look up your videos to see if you've posted a food guide of the city im going. cant wait to see london this may!
I was just telling the author that I have a number of other recommendations for Borough Market, Indian food, and Sunday roasts (Blacklock is good, but it’s kind of a local chain so I would go for a more authentic pub feel). Let me know if you need help.
@@ems9097, Sure, there are lots of good pubs in London and I have lots of recommendations. Here are a few of my favourites for food: 1. The Anchor and Hope (the one in Southwark on The Cut)- I’ve been for dinner a few times and it’s always excellent, but I’ve never been for Sunday roast 2. Marksman- Excellent food and I can vouch for their Sunday roast 3. The Duke of Richmond (the one on Queensbridge Road in East London)- Also all around good food and excellent Sunday roast 4. The Drappers Arms- Also all around good food and excellent Sunday roast 5. The Harwood Arms- One Michelin starred pub with possibly the most famous Sunday roast 6. The Windsor Castle- Very good food and excellent choice if you’re in Nottingham Hill and the weather is good, as they have a nice back garden; I’ve never had a Sunday roast there though 7. The Mall Tavern- Also in Notting Hill; excellent burgers; I’m not sure about their roast specifically though 8. The Camberwell Arms- Well known for their Sunday roast 9. The Red Lion and Sun- Excellent option for food and Sunday roast 10. The French House- Well known pub for the theatre crowd with very good food; it gets really crowded and I can’t speak to their Sunday roast (even if they do one) though Obviously, I don’t know where you’ll be staying, so I tried to give a selection throughout London, not just in one area. I hope this helps.
Your amazing UA-camrs I watched your one on Rome as I was going there . I’ve now just arrived in London and I’m going to check out your recommendations
I have discovered your channel 2 months ago and i would say you guys are really consistent with the quality of your videos. I already know you guys will become super big in the Future. Wish you a good trip.
this is one of the first london food recommendation videos that I nodded for each location!!! great suggestions guys and can confirm all of the places are legit great (salisbury may be a chain so any other pub should be good tho)
Belated comment, London's Chinatown is an overlooked gem. There are Asian multiple restaurants that are lower in price compared to rest of London. Taste is very authentic.
Wow that english breakfast from e pellicci looks scrumptious. I was thinking about going to Regency cafe for my trip to london but i think i'll switch from e pellicci instead haha

You should have tried chicken shop the wings are so spicy and delicious Hudson crumbly battered crispy the chips are cooked the perfect with the right amount of seasoning cooked in that chicken fat
14:30 Gregg's is high fat, high salt, low quality junk food. It's a pastry equivalent of McDonalds, KFC etc. It's NOT a must try experience at all. You guys are clueless. If you want proper hot pasties, go to The Ginger Pig.
When people say the food in the UK sucks, show them this video. I've been to London twice - Always impressed.
Some people just don't know where to look!

Agree!! The wholesome family experience really makes it and we can't wait to go back there!!
Wow I must say so many beautiful dishes made my mouth water I wish I was there with you thank you for sharing
Thanks for watching!!!
You are welcome to london the best city

Thank you so much I’m from England but I’ve been in Texas now for 30 years oh my how the food has changed

Four Seasons is a staple in London. I feel like it's been there forever and it's always packed!
Instantly likeable hosts. Solid work. Thank you.
Thanks so much!!!
Fantastic, diversified list. I’m headed to London next week and will try some of these spots! Thank you
Thank you and have fun eating in London!!!
My food experience of London is to find a Tesco's or other, small convenience shop and buy a sausage roll for under £2. Or take sandwich I made at home.
Regret so hard not trying a Tesco meal deal 😅
Thanks ! I’m more relieved I’m going to London in July and many people tell me that don’t like the food but the variety you showed I’m sure I’ll be fine ❤
We weren't gonna give way to any of the "British food is bad" allegations 😆 Always some delicious food to be appreciated in every city!
This is exactly the list of Restaurants/Chippys, I was looking for - am returning to London after 25 years. Nearly all of my regular places are gone or forgotten. "Thanks"!!! 😍🇵🇭

I’m from London. Glad to see you enjoyed the food here 😋
Thanks! We had a great time!!
The sausage rolls at Ginger Pig really are special.
Amazing and varied selection of foods in this video .-) Loved it .-)

Well done. Well presented. I am watching your videos from London in England . I love your foods . THANK YOU . I am following your channel :))
Some cool spots, but i'd be broke if i ate at all these places!!
Give me a Greggs, Wetherspoons, Nandos, the local chippy and a Tescos Meal Deal instead 😀
Was highly considering going to Nandos but we have them in Auckland where we live too 😅

Chris.
Really appreciate it Chris!!
Love the video I am fairly local to London anyway and have been all my life but watching videos like these shows me what I’m missing
Thanks for watching 😊😊😊

Too kind of you to say 🙏 Thank you very much!!!!!
I’ve always thought Matoush was a great value. And the food is healthy and delicious
Great vlog! We are headed to London for 4 days prior to a transatlantic cruise on the Sun Princess from Southhampton. You gave us some great ideas!
Thank you and hope you enjoy London!!!
Wow that look awesome.
Gotta say, was never a fan of English food, but you made it look amazing.
Trying to disprove the "English food is bad" allegations 😂

Wish we had more time to eat at more places there!
Wow that english breakfast from e pellicci looks scrumptious. I was thinking about going to Regency cafe for my trip to london but i think i'll switch from e pellicci instead haha
Regency Cafe was one of our options too so we'll definitely head there next time! But yes the warm family vibe is something else at E Pellicci 🙌
Loved the vlog! Foodie approved and so fun. Will be hitting a couple of these up this July! ❤
Thank you!! Hope you have an amazing time in London 😊😊

Hi! Great video! Where sis you stay in London? What is the name of the hotel near Kanada-ya? Thanks for the travel tips! :)

Love London 💘😻💜
I love you videos ❤
Wow
Yes, mother mash!!!
Good trick not showing prices to avoid scaring subscribers, hahaha.
Delicious!
You missed Fallow (plus new pop up Fowl) sadly, new Fusion African cuisine places IMO 🥰

Yep, corned beef in the UK is something else.

So why promote Greggs then? It's garbage food that will lead you to an early death.@@locavore_eats
Greggs as one of "15 Great Places to Eat" in London. Are you on drugs?? @@locavore_eats
Greggs?? ROTFL. You guys clearly don't have a clue about good places to eat.
