- Here’s my tour and review of the Holiday Inn Southampton on our overnight stay prior to embarking P&O Iona and a 1 week Northern Europe cruise! We have a standard double room on the top floor with views of the Solent and Ocean Cruise Terminal. We’ll Show you the room and its facilities, room service, the hotel bar and restaurant where we bump into Paul & Carole (love to travel), the hotel’s location to the 5 cruise terminals, parking arrangements and find out about accessibility. Have stayed at the Holiday Inn quite a few times we fly from Sydney a few days in London take a cab to Waterloo and train to Southampton Central very convenient and a view of the ship in the morning.

We’ve stayed here once and loved it. We had a top floor deluxe room and 2 weeks parking. It all worked really well. Would certainly recommend.

Looks very modern clean and a good view. What l would expect from Holiday Inn. Good price as well.
Very good value!
We also stayed on floor 9 and had amazing views. Sad to see there were no water and chocolates in the room this time. They were complimentary last time. We have booked the parking package for our next cruise. Hope you're having a lovely time on Iona x

We usually stay the night before in the Premier Inn across the road. But it was too expensive this time. You got a good price for this one.

Recently traveled from London on cruise day, not too bad. This looks very nice. How hard would it be to put a safe in each room? People bring documents, money and other valuables to a cruise. Town did seem pretty safe.
Yeh I really don’t think there’s a worry with this hotel and security

I've stayed at this hotel many times and have always enjoyed it. My only complaint is that the health club/swimming pool didn't reopen after the pandemic & is (I hear) due for demolition, if it hasn't already gone.

Why is the Horizon cruise terminal not accessible by foot through gate 8?

The holiday inn will shuttle you to and from your cruise terminal as a part of the parking package

Just looking for hotels for the night before our cruise, my god you have stayed in all of them lol, still can't make our minds up, what would you recommend for value for money and is not too busy, but also is nice size rooms ?

Leonardo Royal Grand Harbour is usually a good price and decent rooms, likewise holiday inn, but my favs are Harbour Hotel, Pig in the wall and Ennios. Moxy also cheaper / good value
@@TravelBlogJamie Thank you for your advice. We just booked the holiday Inn as we got a good price and also looks like it has an electric charger which is perfect.
I would go to Wetherspoons for dinner lol

We stayed there twice pre cruise last year in standard rooms and find it annoying there is no safe in the room, apart from that its in a great position for cruising.
This did surprise me

Well P&O Aurora and Arcadia are adults only, Marella Discovery 2, Rui river cruises and also Disney have very nice adults only areas. It all depends on what kind of holiday / cruise / demographic you are looking for?

@@nicholasstokes8330 so this was the cheapest room going in Southampton that night and for 2 it’s reasonable. When I travel solo it can be very difficult to get decent rooms in hotels in major towns / cities for much less
It usually includes breakfast as well, at least for me. And I’m a rewards member so get points and perks.
