I like the videos i have seen so far . How much £ would it cost approximately for a 2 week cruise ? Its sometbing i love to do but depends on the total cost .
New subscriber here, absolutely love your videos. We are thinking about a cruise in the next few years with our young children. I'm not sure I like the idea of there being so many people on board although it looks fantastic. Basically although we have kids we travel a lot and we don't do all-inclusive style holidays so I'm a bit torn - is it like that? I haven't cruised since I was a teenager (on the Sunbird!) when hardly any kids went and it was very fancy and memorable. Are Arvia and Iona too big in your opinion? x
They aren’t too big for us, no, but I know they’d be too big for some. They are easy to find your way around and the bigger the ship means more dining options, mor facilities and more to do. I think Arvia is great for families / kids with so much going on. For me, I loved all the Mediterranean ports most on our Arvia cruise - we are quite independent so did a fair bit ashore! Why not try a 1 week cruise to test the water, so to speak?
Thank you Jamie, we are very tempted. I have watched your Iona and Arvia vlogs and definitely prefer Arvia; it looks incredible and the food options are more up my street. I would want to do the gala night and my husband would be Matthew wanting room service! The two cruises we did with our (late) parents are still the holidays my siblings and I talk about - so special. Thanks for your unbiased reviews too...there are a lot of influencers atm reviewing Iona in particular, and of course they are paid to be there so they don't say anything constructive/negative! Will enjoy watching the rest of your vlogs, excellent to relax with once the kids are down for the night x@@TravelBlogJamie
@@TravelBlogJamie I have watched a lot of your cruise vlogs and I am now going on my first cruise in October this year on Iona so thanks for doing your UA-cam video they inspired me to try cruising.
Very strange about the formal nights being in all 4 venues as the whole aim of Arvia was to have more casual sit down venues. Did the dress code apply to all 4? And great video!!!!
Hi Jamie, glad you had a deck 8 balcony and liked it. I think most people who actually have those cabins dont mind them in the end at all. Also, how much was the taxi back to amazingstoke? With cps parking gone up so much, I might do the same thing next year.
Do you do any of the drinks packages? We did the soft drinks one last time as we are not big drinkers - we do have £410 on board spend for the two weeks
We don’t on P&O as we would never drink that much every day, especially on port days, and P&O drinks not too badly prices. I’d use the OBC for speciality restaurants, excursions, spa, shops, retreat, personally
May i ask how much you spent on soft and alcoholic drinks? Like you i like costa, wine and cocktails and wondered if you found your bill was below or above the drinks package price. Thanks
Ha! I think I wrapped up neatly at the end when I got off the ship and arrived home 😂 Part three would have to be ‘i am at home and working now’. 😂 I do have a ship tour and food vlogs en route though
Hi Jamie This is our cruise in July.. Taking 2 kids (10 & 13) If we do the cable cars in Barcelona Are they walk-to-able from the ship? Or is bus required ? It seemed to knacker you out, are there taxis scattered about if needed ? Is there plenty of time ?
Barcelona has Uber but regular vans quite cheap as hopefully you saw in the vlog. We walked to the old port cable car in 25 mins - the Hoho goes there and a cab would be easy from world trade centre or the cruise terminal
We did the same itinerary on Britannia last year, Arvia is now definitely on my list for our next one (just maybe go elsewhere this time.) Your nights in with room service & comfies were an absolute inspiration, as was that balcony room - if anyone had asked me before watching this I’d have said No Way…but would now absolutely consider it. Lovely vlog(s), very thorough and wholly entertaining, really enjoyed them!
Saw someone asked about your final bill and what you had to pay can I ask was that your individual bill or for both of you. Will be our first time and still debating the drinks package or not many thanks all info & tips have been so useful x
We spent £430 each - this was for spa, speciality dining, rope course, all drinks, internet access (we basically would have wasted money if we’d bought the drinks package)
@@TravelBlogJamie sorry of course, I was more focused on Lucca! Hey thanks for your time and trouble with these superb reports/blogs very much appreciated!! And a huge thanks to Matthew for putting up with you doing them!🤣
Great video…A good review of the ship. What I don’t get is the myriad of poor reviews across the review sites. Cruise critic has its score at 2.8/5 which is the lowest score I have seen. The common complaint is too many people (5200) on too small a ship. You had an experience of waiting 40 minutes for drink at a bar then gave up!! So not sure why you are saying how great everything is??
Oh good question! Because that was embarkation day and it was also the only real issue we had in 2 weeks - after that, all went pretty swimming and we had a great time

@@TravelBlogJamie I have watched a lot of your cruise vlogs and I am now going on my first cruise in October this year on Iona so thanks for doing your UA-cam video they inspired me to try cruising.
@@TrishaChetwood ah this is soooo lovely to read - thank you so much
Very strange about the formal nights being in all 4 venues as the whole aim of Arvia was to have more casual sit down venues.
Did the dress code apply to all 4?
And great video!!!!
Yes it applies to all 4; it’s a very popular night so more people want to use the main dining rooms but of course they have fewer on Arvia
Do they close swimming pools at night or you can swim till late? 😊 preparing myself for my first cruise 😁
Thank you for all your information !
They close them at night, yes, but times can change from ship to ship
Very true , your cruise your fun ❤
Always
Hi Jamie, glad you had a deck 8 balcony and liked it. I think most people who actually have those cabins dont mind them in the end at all. Also, how much was the taxi back to amazingstoke? With cps parking gone up so much, I might do the same thing next year.
I think we paid £70 - a treat since we didn’t actually spend as planned onboard
Cadiz is a great place to visit. One of our favourite places/
It’s so beautiful there
Do you do any of the drinks packages? We did the soft drinks one last time as we are not big drinkers - we do have £410 on board spend for the two weeks
We don’t on P&O as we would never drink that much every day, especially on port days, and P&O drinks not too badly prices. I’d use the OBC for speciality restaurants, excursions, spa, shops, retreat, personally
Loved the Arvia vlog...Are you flying to Antigua or Barbados in December...looking to go in February on Arvia from Antigua
I think we are flying to barbados
And thank you 🙏
Hi Jamie, is the beachcomber pool adult only? Thank you 😀
Depends on itinerary and numbers of families on board
May i ask how much you spent on soft and alcoholic drinks? Like you i like costa, wine and cocktails and wondered if you found your bill was below or above the drinks package price. Thanks
I spent £430 over two weeks on all drinks, speciality dining, internet and spa - well below what I would have spent on a drinks package
Jamie, me n the mrs have booked on arvia this August ( thanx2U) lol. You say you paid extra for internet, is it not free wifi ?. Thanx
@@chrishunter974 no, wifi not free unless you are using it to access the P&O web page to make reservations. Hope you have a great time!!
Jamie, do you have to pay extra to go in the Adult pool?? Great blog. ❤ thanks 👍. XXX
No extra ❤️
Absolutely loved this, as usual very informative and very funny 😄 is there going to be a part 3?
Ha! I think I wrapped up neatly at the end when I got off the ship and arrived home 😂 Part three would have to be ‘i am at home and working now’. 😂 I do have a ship tour and food vlogs en route though
That could still be interesting 🧐 ….. looking forward to seeing a ship tour and all the lovely food 🍱
@@tinawebber8223 hehe maybe I should do a home based part 3 😂
Hi Jamie
This is our cruise in July..
Taking 2 kids (10 & 13)
If we do the cable cars in Barcelona
Are they walk-to-able from the ship?
Or is bus required ?
It seemed to knacker you out, are there taxis scattered about if needed ?
Is there plenty of time ?
Barcelona has Uber but regular vans quite cheap as hopefully you saw in the vlog. We walked to the old port cable car in 25 mins - the Hoho goes there and a cab would be easy from world trade centre or the cruise terminal
Hey Jamie,
What is the alcohol allowance your allowed to bring onboard??
It’s a litre bottle max per adult
Thank you lovely! I have this trip booked middle of June. Super excited.
@@Markiepoo yay! Would love to know how you get on ❤️ Exciting!
Just watched you blog, very good tips as going o the 9th july
@@garyleishman1288 hope you have a great time
We did the same itinerary on Britannia last year, Arvia is now definitely on my list for our next one (just maybe go elsewhere this time.) Your nights in with room service & comfies were an absolute inspiration, as was that balcony room - if anyone had asked me before watching this I’d have said No Way…but would now absolutely consider it. Lovely vlog(s), very thorough and wholly entertaining, really enjoyed them!
Thank you so much! Room service and comfies all the wwwwwaaaaaaayyyy!!
I might not be around for the premiere on Wednesday if work takes over so drop your questions below and I’ll get back to you asap 😊
You mentioned you were going back on during Christmas, what dates are they? I'm going around the same time
Literally the week over Christmas itself ❤️
@@TravelBlogJamienevermind, we are on a couple weeks before!
Thank you thats good to know just discovered your chanel love it x
@@jacquelinegray7523 thank you so much
This is my next ship I want to book😂
Oh do it!!!
Jesus, sorry Jamie😂, where’s La Spezia?? Couldn’t see your visit across the two blogs?
It was in the first vlog. Our third port of call!
@@TravelBlogJamie sorry of course, I was more focused on Lucca! Hey thanks for your time and trouble with these superb reports/blogs very much appreciated!! And a huge thanks to Matthew for putting up with you doing them!🤣
@@markwall6651 you are very very welcome Mark ❤️

Sííí
Hell no to the tram/ cable car in Barcelona. Not enough alcohol on board for courage!

Yeppers and p.s. you better hide that F###ing Duck!

Nice video again, young man. #poormaffoo
Thank you #poorjamie
Can you watch all those films for free in your room?
Yes you can indeed
I live in Southampton and can confirm it smells. Still better than Basingjoke though 😂
😆😆😆 Anywhere is better than Basingstoke (although we have the best southern Indian restaurant, period)
