Nothing against the Beatles but I've always felt that the Stones were better and it was by a wide margin at that. The chemistry this lineup had back then is undeniable and this is pure greatness. I would have loved to have been in attendance for this show as I've seen several videos from this gig and they were all jaw dropping
Basically, the Beatles had a huge variety in styles so they appealled to everyone, and they innovated more with song forms and recording styles and so on. However, they clearly never had the musical cohesion of this group. Listen to the way everything blends on a song like ventilator blues, totally beyond the beatles to play something like that
The stones would be cool even if they all had beer bellies like me. I was checking out Jaggers shirt and I thought jeez what if jagger had one of them things. Great version of Satisfaction, by the way.
the infamous 1971 version; you can tell they were tired of their 1965 hit and tried a new arrangement; I guess they didn't like it: they wouldn't play the song for the next ten years, until the 81-82 tour
The live versions of Satisfaction and Jumpin’ Jack Flash from the Stones’ Madison Square Garden concerts (as shown in the film Gimme Shelter), are LIGHT YEARS SUPERIOR AF!!! 👏👏👏🤘🤘🤘🔥🔥🔥🎆🎇🎆🎇
I love how the Stones can do a lot of their stuff better live than on the record. Yeah Jagger prancing around the stage is a part of the reason people love seeing them live, but for me, it's all about what they might do with their songs. I think today they tend to do Satisfaction pretty close to the record, but many of their other songs they do still make changes on the arrangements constantly. You can see them 20 times and maybe not hear the same version of some songs twice.
this version makes you think you're hearing that magic song for the first time. absolutely cool! I get a lot of satisfaction hearing it. my poor neighbors ...
@@deniskochenborger4255 Keith had plans for a horn section to do the riff on the recording but they cut it on the go at RCA mid tour and didn't have time he would have liked
If I was making the kind of money I know they were making back then, I would have bought some shirts that fit me. The oversized ones he wore later on were even worse.
What a great strange soul-version. Only Stones can do something like this. By the way, Beatles never were a live-band after "Star Club", they only did albums with all this expensive technical equiptment. For me, beatles never "ruled"! After Beatles broke, anybody of the former Beatles showed what he can as a musican. Plastic Ono Band, George, the Wings and even Ringo are great. But for me, the Beatles never came any bit close to what tha STONES did/ and still do.
they’ve never been able to do this song well when they’re playing live i don’t get why Richards can’t leave the bloody drum break alone it’s so great in the recording but he somehow feels the need to fill it up
Cause Keith preferred the way Otis Reading did it. But it was released by Decca unknown to them while they were in LA. Keith wanted to lead with horns. It’s a good thing they left it. He always says he wasn’t finished working on it and it was definetly his tune(wrote it in his sleep lol) but his guitar hook was too good to dismiss. He wanted that to be horns. It worked for Otis but the Stones weren’t as refined and that ripping intro lead on the studio version is timeless. And of course the space in the sound with Charlie’s beat. They also got sick of playing it so they’d mix it up.
Both Mick Taylor and Keith Richards copied most of what Brian Jones did on guitar! The sound quality may be better than it was in the 1960s but the level of energy and desperation isn't the same. The Stones don't sound very angry like they did earlier in their lives.
Great influence of the Velvet Underground in the tune of the Watts & Wyman R&B Band. Great guitars & horns. Very very good singer despite his sinus problems. Watts & Wyman firmly holding the bar, as the bosses they are.
@Malte L. Brigge : completely agree with you. Before having listened this version, "Satisfaction" was boring me (and I'm a great old fan of the Stones.
I'm sorry but those saying this is the BEST version they've ever heard of this song live I would have to disagree completely... it's not a bad version but it's far from GREAT.... Jagger's vocal style on here isn't that great to me.... it makes it very difficult for me to listen to it... again it's not bad but far from great... just my opinion...
I agree, some local bar bands could sound better than this. The Stones probably have trouble living up to the original recording. Saw them in Chicago in '78' and they played it better then.
Still rocking 52 yrs later 2023 ,,and touring soon unbelievably 😊
My whole family is going to see them at Cleveland Browns Stadium in June! We got our tickets!

Yes of course. This one is soul. Is magic. Is greatest. And yes Rolling Stones very. Very better than beatles.
They’re not even close to the Beatles by a margin🫥 this band does rock tho

Lucky neighbours
You know Keith isn't going to give up the lead on this song to Taylor.
It's a very Otis Redding Satisfaction version by Stones. Without the main riff of Satisfaction.
Keith has just said Otis redding version is his favorite one, with horns instead of guitar riffs
@@deniskochenborger4255 Keith had plans for a horn section to do the riff on the recording but they cut it on the go at RCA mid tour and didn't have time he would have liked
This version is very nice, by the way!
the quality of the sound and audio,is mind boggling
THis is the best version of satisfaction ! AMAZING !
I prefer the one from "Gimme Shelter" myself.
Yeah NOT bad!
yeah Gimme Shelter the movie has the best live version.
I love this version but the film editor should get fired. They cut every 2-3 seconds!!
Great sound by the horn section!
best live show Ive seen of them - usually theyre a shambles
it is true that it is beautiful

The Marquee Club was a small squashed in room in Wardour Street not much room but a lot of big time music came out listen
This is the best version I've heard; that soulful call & response between Jagger & the Horns!
Happily cause Keith look tired.
Thank you very much indeed for posting this video here on UA-cam

2quundar 👍🏻👍🏻
MT is not doing too bad here. Seems to me that by this point in the show, Keith and Mick are just tired and wasted; torn and frayed if you will
Wyman wrote that Keith came 2 hours late, unshaven, unbathed and strung out. So quite possibly true. Still awesome though 😊
@@somegirls2002 Keith yes but not Mick who succed changing his interpretation.
Unbelievable!!!
Thanks for posting !!! Amazing.
Hope to see The Rolling Stones in Argentina and Brazil again.

le titre le plus mythique des sixties par excellence
Seventies spun out some sensational stuff from Stones!
Best version, next to the Uptight/Satisfaction jam with Stevie Wonder from 1972
As much as I love the Stones, this sounds like a garage band,
They're supposed to
U r saying it like it's something bad.😀
Charlie is just vibing lmao
God I would love to see a version of Sympathy Of The Devil from this era

that riff was around long before CCR and the Stones lol
piece of cake for Taylor ...
almost velvet underground sound, brilliant
jagger has said the velvets influenced the stones quite a lot...
Is a great version. I did not recognize yet. Always play the same, the Stones never itch.
great song by the best band ever
Love seeing the breathtaking Mick Taylor. This is when the Stones had a good band. The dream team. Jim Price ,Bobby Keys and Nicky Hopkins!!!!!!!
Mick was so cute!
I hope you mean Taylor. 😄😆
@@timothylewis2450 Unfortunately, I would mean Jagger, but who can say for the original comment?
Cool version

Way more video coverage of Bobby Keys & Jim Price than that of Bill 🤦🏼
A pity.((((

Mick being mick 😂
