Tame Impala Harris is the greatest thing I’ve heard in a while
I managed the front desk of a full service Holiday Inn for like 8 years. Tim is spot on across the board! About 15 years ago hotels decided that the best guest services was to have a "floating" employee (usually a front desk manager) and your job is to literally just kind of hang out. I was flown to Atlanta and took 40 hours of classes to be the "guest experience champion" and every Holiday Inn was required to have one. My job was to pretty much act casual to keep guests chill. Btw Tim the reason they want a card for incidentals has nothing to do with room charges. It's just the nice way to say we dont trust you won't steal the television.

As a person who has worked in hotels for over ten years, this is hilarious and we all HATE guests like Tim... Also, theres no room service because all the hotels are drowning and room service isn't worth the cost of the workers.
Everyone assumes the hotel workers hate the guests. The guests hate you too they enjoy making you suffer. No one cares about your feeling shut up
Hahahah yep, same. I know exactly the type of worker Tim encountered because I've worked with them so much but yeah Tim is what we would call a HM guest in our pass-on reports. Handle with care. Many of his complaints of the industry were valid though, it's just a giant shit show.
Ive stayed in hundreds of hotels and have ran into tims desk person half the time.
