I just bought a brand new x1.55c for $39,000 in Oregon. The HC was $3000 more but I didn’t like the hydro pedals. I hope to have some videos up for comparison soon! Thanks for the info!

Well, I am pleased to hear about this, it makes me all the more pleased that I bought the TYM I own, it seems they sell the same tractors without a third party mark up, yet it demonstrates that yet another big corporation feels that it is well enough engineered that they are willing to warranty TYMs workmanship. Furthermore, TYM has 2 dealers within 60 miles of me, the Mccormick is a 3 hour drive to either dealer in my state.

TYM makes the tractor in South Korea. It is then shipped to the USA and McCormick takes ownership of it at the docks. All warranty is through McCormick.

The outcome of these legacy brands is fascinating. These old brand names never seem to die off because of some perceived name recognition. So McCormick tractors is named after the McCormick family that founded International Harvestor. When what was then Case IH was merged with Fiat and Ford-New Holland, the McCormick brand was sold off. Then owned by a Italian company but were made by Kukje of Korea, which now is owned by TYM. The same Kukje designs were also sold as Branson and Bad Boy.

That is very interesting Brock. I had known that Branson (TYM) was making some McCormick tractors, but this is the first one I have seen in a (local) video. If I am correct, that X1-55 is the equivalent to a TYM 5520hc. Also, I have bought parts from 5 Star before and had no idea they were that close to you. Great video sir and thanks.

We learned about Cyrus McCormick and the McCormick reaper in grade school. He invented a horse drawn grain reaper and became quite famous. The company later became part of International Harvester. The only McCormick tractors I have seen were the big farm tractors.

Lift specs are a bit lacking with the xx15 branson/tym tractors having around the same specs.

So... you are paying nearly $15,000 for the McCormick name. The tractor itself is essentially a TYM 574 with a few small differences. That is a steep up charge there.

I didn't realize there was a current tractor brand I hadn't heard of but I have never heard of McCormick.

is the 55hp the same A2300 Kukje engine as you have? if so why look at anything other than TYM 494/574? the web site has no engine specs. does that loader look a bit light in the metal?

Interesting to see a spice and seasoning company branch out into tractors...

I’m sure that sarcastic, but they’ve been making for equipment for close to 200 years. From Google:
Born in Virginia in 1831, the McCormick brand quickly became known for producing the tractor that industrialized the United States. Today we continue to embrace our heritage by offering performance, technology, comfort, and capabilities that farmers have learned to expect from McCormick.

@@RockhillfarmYT Somewhat. I'm in Texas and have never seen (or heard of) a McCormick tractor, but McCormick's is a brand of spices and seasonings I've always seen on the store shelves. Looks like there's only 3 McCormick tractor dealers in Texas, two near Dallas and Waco and the other somewhat in between Amarillo and Lubbock. Looks like their more of Northeast and Midwest brand.

Not the same company. The original McCormick tractors were folded into International Harvester Company in the early 1900's.When IH divested itself of its' farm equipment division in 1985 it also sold the IH and McCormick names. This allowed the companies that bought those lines of equipment to legally brand their products. However the companies,Case-IH and McCormick neither one are the old IHC.

That’s a Branson hood and front axle, rear axle, etc… Not legacy TYM. That tractor has nothing on common with a TYM 574

Pretty sure that’s what I said. The Branson tractors are still available with three different stickers on them. McCormick, bad boy, TYM.
