If you like Borresen you also like the cables by Ansuz,i have them myself, never heard so much power coming out of a simple cable,it is very special indeed, the sound is very solid, big, tide and transparant and lots of power.
I was at the event last night and it was well organized by the Next Level staff and Jay. I too was impressed with these for their price point. The X3 may be the sweet spot for medium sized rooms but are twice as expensive. I found them to be more forward sounding than other Borresen's (and Raidho's of the past). That said, they are certainly competitive with others in the price range and it's impressive how full they all sound with small drivers.
I have a 322 square feet room, and Borresen X will be my first true hi-fi speaker! but I dont know if the Borresen X1 would be big enough for my room ( I sit aroud 2,5-3m away from speakers right now ) so dont know if the step up to the Borresen X2 would be better then the Borresen X1 but I like the idear of a nice solid bookshelf speaker.
@@MasterofPlay7 Please elaborate. Have you heard them? Have you compared them to other speakers in their price class? Do you know how these speakers are made? Of course they will try to make a product like this pretty to look at, but that is not everything they have to offer.
I read the X1 has 4.5" mid-woofer, they look like 6.5" in this vid. Stop vid at 4:25, it's clear the X1 has a larger driver than the tower next to it. There's a lot of choices for that kinda $. 4 .5" mid woofers, I see no SPL ratings on the site, or anywhere else...
That’s an optical illusion. The X1s are closer to the camera. All the X series woofers have a true 4.5” of cone diameter, which makes them roughly equivalent in size to other manufacturers “6 inch” woofers. These woofers are also capable of much greater excursion and power handling than a typical 4.5” driver, therefore they can play louder and bigger than would normally be expected. You really have to hear and see these speakers in person to appreciate the value proposition. Augmented with some decent subs, they will outperform any $5000/pair tower speakers I’m aware of, from top to bottom.
A good AMT tweeter tuned right is essentially also a supertweeter and can fill the top end out with air and create its cool sense of space 💫 I'm not up to humping 100+ lb speakers around the place so a quality bookshelf and sub combo makes me a happy boy.. 🙏
I just got back from Next Level HI Fi and heard these. When I walked in , I honestly thought the X 6's were playing. Oh and don't be surprised if you set your sights higher after Axpona. I went specifically to hear the X 3's last year and wound up with an O model. You'd be hard pressed to find 2 better guys to do business with than Tyler and Josh as well.
Great run down, Jay!! I am so excited that AGD decided to drop the X line and Axxess on us blue-collar audiophiles!! IT IS SO GREAT to be able to get that flavor at that price point. And those guys at Next Level HiFI are top shelf... Cheers.
The Denmark Audio Group certainly has some very interesting brands and components in their collective lineup and those x series speakers look very tasty. Not sure where they’d go though.
Are the X series made in China or Denmark? Or do they do what TAD does with the Evolution line, make the cabinets/stands in China and assemble them with Japanese drivers and then call the speakers Made In Japan.
Apparently, Danish law only requires 60% of an item be made in Denmark in order to be called "Made in Denmark", so while the majority of the speaker is made in-house, a good amount is likely made overseas.
Nice to see Borresen come up with a speaker that is reasonable price wise... On the use market these speakers drop like a rock, more so than another speaker company that I have seen. Regardless they do sound great, much better than Raidho.. The X series is a serious contender at the retail price point; example: X3 for $6500 on used market recently. I can't say that about the others I have seen. So on the used market they are a great deal... . Example on Audio goin a Raidho D3.1 retailed for 75K but you can get them for 21K? D3 75K for 18K.....
You're right. This is because these are very new brands in the audio world and are not as popular as Focal or Bowers Wilkins. Raidho also loses price additionally due to Borresen, which is a further continuation of Raidho products. But thanks to the huge successes of Aavik/Borresen/Ansuz, their price will soon become stronger and they will be very desirable and sought after, because products from Raidho D2/D3 and even the C series are something unique compared to the competition and cannot be replaced, especially at the price of used ones. Current models Raidho TD2.2 / 3.2 etc. are changed instead by Benno Baun Melgaard from Dali and Gamut. The speakers sound slightly different from Michael's sound signature. I personally have the D2 and C2.1 models, I plan to buy the Borresen X2 at the beginning of March and I will make a direct comparison with the Raidho D2 and C2.1, so please visit my channel.
@@just-listen3689 No dealers near me and the one that is close is not that accommodating when it comes to listening to them etc.. Totally agree!
Probably the single best value on the speaker market today
I’d agree. Please subscribe and support !
Have you actually listened to it? 🤔
I agree, these or their larger siblings. One would have to construct a thoughtful DIY design to get better performance value.
We at Hifi-Loft in NYC love all the Boressen X series speakers. We are selling many of them. A truly great product.
Nice
I wonder how these would compare to the Raidho X1t, although I believe they are smaller as Beno redesigned the X1 to be larger, but still...
