Man City success and the standards they’ve set is the reason people don’t recognise how good they still are. To only have 1 player from the team that are 2nd in the league and still very well in the conversation for the title seems so strange.

Bar haaland there isn't another player thats stood out in that team. Mahrez had a good month, rodri has been consistent but not as good as last season, their defence has been changed loads. And guys like foden, grealish, bernardo, gundogan, kdb have been clearly off it compared to the standard they've set from previous seasons.

Saliba, Gabriel, Thiago silva, Varane, Martinez, schar, botman and stones in your tots and I’d struggle to argue against it. We’ve had some quality centre backs this year

Rodri and Casemiro is so hard, but Rodri purely cos Casemiro had a slow start. By year end, Casemiro will most likely be in. Ramsdales had couple shaky moments but his distribution is unbelievable. Partey has been good but wouldn't have same balance and its Rodri over him so went Bruno to parter. Trippier/White is very close also. Martinelli was likely in before WC but Rashford post WC has been one of the best wingers in the world.
This is team of the year. So don't talk about being out of position or if he has been good or not. Who's the best player in that position is the question.

I think Thiago silva deserves a shout. I'm a chelsea fan so I'm biased but silva hasn't made one mistake all season while I'm pretty sure saliba scored an own goal at the beginning of the season. Gabriel also gave the ball to mitrovic in their 2-1 comeback win. So I think silva is a lock while botman Gabriel and saliba are also in the convo

I would rather have Kane in my team, Kane makes more teams better than Haaland if they get put in them. Offers more, still has world class finishing and positional intelligence and can also pass and dribble to an elite standard.
