My water heater never drains completely. I followed all of the steps and have even tried to turn on the pressure relief valve after 1 hour since it still wasn’t draining but it never empties

My AOS Smith is 10 Year's old without a single flush.
Wouldn't hurt to have it flushed.
    Thanks for a Great Video...

Great & helpful video! Just checked my electric water heater and found no valves on it, so does it mean once I cut the power it's ready for flush?

Wondering if there are particular minerals that are problematic to flush out?
If I got the mineral profile of my specific tap water from the local water utility would that be useful to know what specific solvent to use to loosen and dissolve the minerals caked to the bottom of my tank?

My plumber told me never to drain the tank, I had my AOSmith 50 gallon tank for 18 years and never touched it, I guess he was right. It all depends where you live, in NYC we have clean water, not hard water compared to other parts of the country. Talk to your local plumber for advice
