    When we look back in years to come when tiger was injured and marvelling at his brilliance in the 00s. This is up I would say in the top 3 of his victories (#1 first win @ Augusta #2 hoylake with the aftermath of his father passing away and #3 this) I’m a huge TW so I know I’m bias but how many other sports have we seen a comeback like this? I can’t think of many. I have the utmost respect for The golden bear but this guy is just something else. Golf truly won on this day. With the level of talent and commitment this man has had to the game of golf. No man is perfect I’m not saying his past actions were right at all. But let’s admire a man who has single handily defined the way golf is played today. Congrats TW! Now hurry up, Sam & Jack are waiting for you :)

      Didn’t Ben Hogan win majors after almost being killed in 1949? Broken pelvis, broken ribs, broken ankle, circulatory problems for the rest of his life. They were sure he would have a hard time walking again, let alone play golf, never mind at a PGA Tour level. In 1953 he only played 9 tournaments due to health issues......and won 3 majors that year. Big TW fan and what he has done is phenomenal but don’t diminish one of greatest comebacks of all time by one of the greatest golfers of all time.

    I knew something good was going to happen this weekend for Tiger after seeing the highlights for him for T,F and S. All those fairways and putts made just was showing he had figured it out.
    On Sunday I watched the coverage live and just sat there and watched the master at work. I wasn't disappointed with his win Sunday, welcome back to the winners circle Tiger Woods and congratulations on win number 80!!

Overall, including majors, Tiger has 82 and Jack has 73. Tiger having played in far fewer tournaments. The main problem is the winning percentage isn't a stat that is commonly presented. The one thing I noticed most of every day of this tournament was the touch in his putting and the speed of each putt, when you see a lot of his putts that pretty much die just as they reach the hole, you know he's avoiding bogies. I think this was the most putts i saw that had just enough to reach the hole, but not too much where he is looking at bogey. When you see every player he was paired with falter...Tiger was saving par, not just making birdies.

      @An E ha ha. Jack took on 26 hall of fame golfers in their prime and won. And if he didnt win he was almost always in the top 10. Tiger has taken on 3 hall of fame golfers who are still not anywhere near the level of the golfers Jack faced.

    • @Recon-cv1fe
      @Recon-cv1fe 6 років тому

      @An E Jack also didnt have superior equipment like Tiger has. Tiger has stated multiple times that he is not as great as Nicklaus was. Two different eras of golf. Tiger is the best from this era while Jack owned the "golden age".

    • @dpalme02
      @dpalme02 6 років тому

      @Recon 0326, The whole Jack vs Tiger argument will never be settled unless Tiger gets to 18 because there will people who say Jack has 18 and people that say tiger in his prime was untouchable. With that said Tiger has never admitted Jack is greater than him, he's acknowledged Jack is his inspiration because of the 18 majors and has been quoted saying he respects the "Jack is the greatest" point of view based on the 18. But Tiger believes he himself is the best ever. Jack is actually quoted saying he isn't sure if he could beat Tiger when Tiger was at his best from 99' until '02. Keep in mind Tiger has the scoring (-18) and margin of victory record (12 shots) at the Masters and won by 15 strokes at the '00 US open. Really both of them admire each other because they are the only ones who understand what its like to play at that high of a level, although lets be honest Jack never had the pressure and publicity Tiger had even for as great as he was. And when Tiger got the scoring record at the 97 masters he was using a balata golf ball, steel shafts on all of his clubs including woods and driver, and the club face on his driver was stainless steel which has now every pro uses titanium on the driver club face (he was still easily driving it over 315 yards when he wanted to). So Tiger played with the old equipment and still dominated with it so I don't like the "better equipment" reason even though obviously the equipment in the 90's was still better than the 60's-70's. With all of that said, Jack not only won 18 majors but also finished second numerous times. Bottom line its entirely subjective on how you define the greatest of all time. It's kind of like the Lebron vs MJ debate, new age vs old school people will choose one over the other but basically they are 1a and 1b. I would say Tiger vs Jack is also 1a and 1b currently unless Tiger somehow gets to 18 in which case its really not a debate anymore.

      @@dpalme02 The competition is what separates Tiger and Jack. You could argue that Tiger played much better against his competition than Jack did. By a scoring comparison; this would be correct. But look at the top 100 golfers of all time. Go through and circle the ones Jack faced in his prime compared to the ones Tiger faced. Jack took on 27; Tiger took on 3 at most. Most of the ones Jack faced were in the top 50. And to still come away with all those victories? That's my arguement
