After so many years this is the first time in my life that I hear this etude in such a way that I am listening to music, listening and really feeling fine! So nice!!!
Absolutely. Everyone always plays it very fast, after Segovia. Not sure if Villa-Lobos intended it to be played fast, but this slower tempo is refreshing.
Dreamy, such a beautiful crisp clean and seemingly effortless touch, and exquisitely played. I'm only seeing this approximately 3 years later. New subscriber here!
Ah soon I'll get into 8 strings guitar techniques on electric but I'm also interested into getting a classical one later. It sounds amazing. Good job =)
Thank you! This is very inspirational! I'm waiting (...and waiting) for an 8 string also - and it will be the first time I've ever played one. Your guitar is gorgeous! Your luthier did a fantastic job! I've seen similar head pieces, I believe - is he really really famous?
Wow, I looked him up. He's very young to be doing such exquisite work! That guitar you have may have its value shoot WAY up, judging from the caliber of his work at such a young age!
I have to shamefully admit that I don't quite remember. I didn't write it down and it's been some time... I do remember keeping it as simple as possible, and mainly using loose bass strings on Am and B-chords. I'll listen to it again sometime and let you know what I remember then :)
@@elisehermansguitar, thanks for the reply; to me it sounds like an extension of the original E minor harmony with the recurring lower appogiaturas, following the original Villa-Lobos idea, no? I very much appreciate the fleshy tone you produce which seems to match the choice of tempo and the overall character of your interpretation. Congrats!
Hey, I don't recall the price. This guitar is made by Koen Fonteyne, link to his website is underneath the video. He's a very nice young man, he'll be glad to give you all the info!:)

That is such a nice comment, thank you!
I enjoy very much the slower tempo which allow us to appreciate all the harmonies of this well-known study.

Beautiful. What a neat looking fretboard for a classical guitar, too.
If you’re interested, it’s called Birds Eye Maple and I see it more often on electric guitars
This is inspiring. Looking this up to learn on my 6 string.
beautiful piece
that fretboard. stunning

Very good Elise, I like it very much! subscribed, greetings.
Replayed this a couple of times. You definitely put in a lot of time and effort into this :)
Lovely Performance!
This version is so beautiful!
Thank you Rolf!
Oh my word that was beautiful! Those deep notes give it so much power when you hear them.
Glad to hear you enjoyed it!
Really enjoyed listening to this piece, it simply beautiful. 😊
Well done, cool eight-string!

Thank you very much!
Excellent!
bellisima interpretación ,y sonoridad.
Awesome
Nicely done!
Great Job 👏🙏🎶
very nice and very good sound :- D
Amazing !!
Fantastic performance, the bass added by the 8 string guitar. Could someone tell the tuning of the 7 and 8 strings?
They are tuned to B and A, to fit into the key of Eminor.
Ah soon I'll get into 8 strings guitar techniques on electric but I'm also interested into getting a classical one later. It sounds amazing. Good job =)
Epic!
What a tremendous interpretation. I hope to own a 8 string classical guitar one day, but they're far too expensive for me.
Hey just so you know you can find them now for around 300 at the low end. I say that because I was shopping around today haha
The playing is intentionally? not so much rushed and i adore that just as much
Very nice. The extra bass strings would be a challenge if yours were not an exceptionally stable, relaxed, and agile right hand. Thank you!
Bravo 👏
bedankt! :)
I need to play one of these instruments before I die.
May your dreams come true!
Lindíssimo!!!
Buena versión ✔
Beautiful! I am curious what microphone are you using? as the sound is so detailed and rich, especially for a large diaphragm condenser. Thanks!
This is a Neumann TLM 102
Magnifico:)
Nice playing! Who is the luthier?
Mooi!
Very nice👍🏼. I enjoyed listening. Can you please tell me if this type of guitar is available for purpose.
Yes they are! Most of them are handmade by classical guitar builders. This one is from a young Belgian builder: Koen Fonteyne
Does that djent ?
Nice dynamics! I enjoyed this very much! What's your tuning?

Mike Peters facebook.com/Michael-Peters-Guitars-39254306778/ a very talented luthier also. Waiting is very hard though... :-(
G# over Emaj on a 8 string? Brutal stretch. respect
Great playing..tuning for this one?
What are the two low strings tuned to ?
7th = B, 8th = A
@@elisehermansguitar Thanks; is her guitar have a maple back n sides ?
Nice mellow tone. What exactly is the added material in the middle arpeggio?

I would like to marry the fretboard
Yean, but can you play "Riding a galloping horse while playing 8 string guitar"?? :D
Hold my beer...
@@elisehermansguitar Are you really going to play it? Oh hell yeah!

Dame.....
What is the tuning?
Hello, sorry for the late answer! For the 6 upper strings I used the standard tuning, the 7th string is a deep B, en the 8th a deep A.

The somber seagull distally plan because samurai apically beam amongst a shaky dash. distinct, flawless cord
plays it like a 6 string lol
So slow. On 2x speed, it good
I prefer it like this."I always liked it slow
".
Classical music is too fast nowadays anyway.
Whats the tuning?
If I remember correctly I tuned the 7th string to a B (below the sixth-string E), end the 8th to an A (one step down from the B)
