Glad you squashed any questions about alternate building materials from the produce aisle. Great video.

😂😂 I think a buttercup squash could also have worked for the inner mold!

Great video Morley, i love the organic design that the pumpkin gave the planter and I agree its a great way to reuse a perishable item that normally goes to waste, along with eating it

Yep I should definitely have done that outside. I put a tray in the sink later on to catch the sediment.

    So euh, a few qeustions.
    1. The concrete dust that fly's up; I really hope you were wearing mouth coverings and kept the pets away from being exposed to it. inhaling that stuff is bad, isn't it?
    2. Not sure about this but you washed off the concrete in the sink. But wont the concrete residue stick and clog the pipes?
besides that, nice work. final product looks sharp.

      Thanks!
      1. Yep, inhaling concrete dust is bad. I would recommend wearing a respirator.
      2. That was a bad call on my part, I should've done that in the hose outside. Later on, I put a tray in the sink to catch the sediment.

@@MorleyKert Luckely it won't hurt every now and then. But it's good youre atleast mindfull about it if you're going to experiment more with concrete :)
2 Ideas i have been experimenting with lately is; Using different materials to reinforce the concrete. And using cardboard for the mold; Leaves a cool texture and is easy to peel off.

Cool! What materials have you tried for reinforcement?

@@MorleyKert Steel materials mostly, like steel skewers or mesh. But am curious what effect it would have if alternative materials are used like twigs that could at the same time be decorative.
Decorative or not, it at least helps strengthen the concrete in multiple ways.

GFRC is particularly bad to breath, the glass fibres do bad things to lungs.
