That is indeed a nice tool, but a tiny rant: I never have understood why you would want to take off the bottom bracket (especially one that's been installed 20 years) while the bike is on a bike stand. Half the fiddliness complained about here could be avoided by having the bike on the ground and not flexing and bouncing around on a bike stand. Just my 2 cents. Enjoying the videos!
Nice tool indeed, thanks for the info. But, the first tool you showed works very well with an impact driver. Very useful with a stubborn bottom bracket.
Carpenter by trade, batterypowerd stuff makes life hazzlefree 😂 Any midrange will do, settings at low and increase if needed. Helped a buddy with a bb that had 6 yrs stuck in.. Took less than 1 minute
Love it. I don’t like spinning a frame on the ground to extract a stubborn bottom bracket. Edit: I have other Bike Hand tools, my first bike tool kit was from them. It was good starter kit for wrenching on older bikes.
Splined bottom-brackets might be fine for racing teams, but like aheadsets and tubeless tyres, are bad design for regular cyclists. My LBS couldn’t even loosen a splined BB for me, breaking off teeth and marring the frame!
Great tool…imo😎Often have problems to open stuck bbˋs, especially those with plastic cabs that will brake before getting loose🙃Thanks for sharing and showing the function in detail🌟🌟🌟
hey man are you kidding me? Are you saying that you've been using your old bottom bracket wrench all this time without an additional screw to hold the wrench on the axle? You buy a screw in a store and all you have to do is screw the screw into the threaded hole in the axle and you can still use your old wrench!!! What's the deal because I don't quite understand? And you're telling me that $20 instead of $2 for the old tool is something worth buying?
I’ve had such a tool for years. Great tool. But, a bolt that will thread into the spindle a good bit and a washer will absolutely do the same thing.

Agreed!! I almost always take it off to inspect and re lube!!
The tool I bought has a half inch drive. I just use my cordless impact. Same impact I use to remove my truck's lug nuts.
Have one on order! The alignment feature of the bottom bracket wrench is gold.
Excellent tool, decent leverage too. Thanks for sharing
Brilliant. Can't wait to show this to my grandson.

A much better mousetrap, thanks.

I just use my impact driver with the 1/2" drive into that silver tool.
Nice!
Wish I had seen this video a couple of days ago before spending $25 to have the bike shop at REI take that off for me.
Convaluted way of doing this . A bottom bracket bolt is the answer as others have stated .

I am guessing you mean a bolt every time you say screw?
@chrisallen2005 yes, you are right. Sorry for my english. I wanted say "bolt" instead "screw".
Your old tool, right sized bolt, a washer, and an adjustable wrench will do the same thing.
True, but this one is much more convenient! It's definitely worth the small investment.
