I love how much they based the Legacy one off the original toy: the lightbars on the original Animated toy are NOT accurate to the animation (I even recall that as a kid), since the animation had one color in the front and one in the back and not side by side. The Legacy toy keeps the lightbar colors side by side, so that’s a pretty specific reference right there, in addition to the shurikens being toy-based as opposed to molded to resemble the animation.
Nice review and I dig both. They both do different things but they both do it pretty well and fit in different places. Also got this guy to stand on one leg on first try. Can’t wait for more Animated like Prime and Bumblebee next year.
I really like the new one, but it’s kind of disappointing seeing how close we where to getting a faithful design only to get a stylized one. So close yet so far.
@@WyattTFdude legacy is supposed to give us new figures of old characters. It's the LEGACY of transformers. This line just screams "we will make everything look G1 because that's all we care about". It's butchering old designs to appease the gewunners.
Do yourself a favor and get Samurai Prowl no matter the cost, he’s worth it. He’s my favorite figure that I own. He has updated hips and his bikes nose cone is a little longer. It partially covers the ball joint so it’s not as egregious to look at, but it does slightly limit the range of its ab crunch. His shurikens are molded like the originals, but they don’t function, however they can be swapped with the originals.
I definitely miss having animated prowl. the shuriken on the new one are eh, even when you twist the top and bottom of the core to have the blades come out, it doesn't always come out evenly due to the gears getting unaligned , but it is still an enjoyable figure for me.
2 thing, the legacy shurikans you should rotate the 2 outer casings, holding them and pulling the blades will skip the gears due to how they are made, and they spin on the wheels just fine no matter the orientation
Thanks for the info, I tried that when I first got it and it wasn't working right, so I figured it wasn't the method. I just messed with mine again and it turns out mine's gears weren't aligned right to begin with. After clicking the gears to their proper place it is working as intended. BUT... I still think the animated ones work a lot better and are far more stable and solid.
If there's one character legacy should crate they should take mustache guy from bay formers and create him into a triple changer of a police car and helicopter while keeping that beautiful mustache
We've seen the translation for animated and prime, and now with the recently leaked BM core class cheetor, we ask how are they gonna do BM. Gotta say that if they do a heavy reinterpretation of it, I don't think anyone would mind.
What is it with legacy and them insisting on making every design G1? This is supposed to celebrate the LEGACY of the name. The only thing this screams is "we dont care about any other series and will only cater to the gewunners". It's sad seeing such iconic designs being butchered in the name of 90s nostalgia.
yeah. there is no tough call. 2008 animated is better in any way. How that recent crap is more expensive, and its just unacceptable its vehicle presentation.

The shurikens twist and the blades open. You turn the top one way and the bottom the other way. They like “automorph”
So for the shrunken your suppose to hold the bottom and twist the top, they do work well your just not doing it right.
