That new dump site is going to make it hazardous not only to the underground water source but to the workers working the house and green waste site below. Westside people know the winds that comes down the mountains and through the valleys it will blow all the dust and ashes all over the place.

After keeping everyone away from home burn zones (toxic ash) to move it all onto Olowalu's porous cinder cones needs to have same protocol to protect people and environment from the toxic ash.
Take it to a proper toxic waste area off the island.
There's another county meeting for the Olowalu "temporary" site.
Which needs to be removed immediately away to a proper facility regardless of the cost.
It's the federal government's job and not the people.

This is happening because since the 1970s authorities have wanted a big harbor in Lahaina. They are already saying hauling the ash all off by sea will require big ships close. And in the 70s the historical status of Lahaina (including the shoreline and out into the waters) kept there from being changes in building a bigger harbor. So, detroying historical status, destroying native will, destroying the reef all equal one thing= a big harbor. However, I see native peoples and residents still rallying. Also, the historical status is on a National Registry, beyond State level politics, so it could be filed in Federal courts, right? So I think it needs to be the people in Lahaina running the ball on offense, realizing the military, tourist industry and elitist goal is the harbor. Run it at them hard instead of being caught off guard by their next awful moves towards securing your harbor for their purposes.

Maybe the person organizing these protest and meetings.. to focus on getting the word out before the meetings and protest and give enough time for everybody to go.? Maybe go down to the beaches, where they are fishing and to the hotels where everybody is temporarily housed, and put out flyers and talk to them? I’ll just so sad and it doesn’t make any sense. @@mindypeterson9841 Ummm……the ash and debris are in Lahaina. Lahaina is VERY sacred. The stuff is currently running off into the ocean. And it will continue to do so as long as progress is halted for this guy that lives in Olowalu. There are over 6000 displaced people that need to get back onto their land. They will respect the iwi in a culturally significant manner. The EPA did lots of tests. Only a small section is truly toxic, and they will handle that properly. I would speculate that 98% of the people signing that petition do NOT live in Lahaina.
This person that lives there is not halting anything! as you can see they’re doing their thing regardless of the protest! As far as 98% don’t live in Lahaina it doesn’t matter who lives there or not. This is a worldwide matter that has to do with our oceans worldwide!

If you have seen the EPA studies, then post them here or show us those EPA studies! If you know your history, you will understand that the United States government hasn’t always been transparent, and in the past over-ran the Hawaiian sovereign nation, and took control of the islands and desecrated it! Just incredible. Governor Greene is laughing at Maui. In less than 150 days he has Maui people complaining that burnt down homes are as bad as nuclear waste. With no more talk of missing children or how the firestorm was really created. Simply amazing and only paying out 700.00 per household.
