Funny thing about this...there is this thing in dnd lore called the Dark Moon Heresy whose followers believe Shar and Selune to be the same entity. The real wild thing is, they're not wrong. They *did* used to be one deity back in the beforetimes.
I don't like evil endings, but this one sounds like a great goddesses path. She was played between two deities all her life, and now she holds everything in her hands. Loviatar also was Bhaal and Shar worshipper before becoming a goddess. Now we can see the rise of Lady of Eclipse.
I was just thinking that. If it wasn't linked to the elderbrain, a rise to becoming a goddess would actually suit Shadoheart so well. Unlike Gale losing himself to it, I could see Shadowheart gaining a lot of belief in herself that she didn't have before and striving to be the sort of Goddess that she thought Shar was- fiercely defending her followers but actually taking care of them too. Uniting the night, both moon and shadow. It would be quite an epic.

@@thew00dsman79 Twilight Cleric is a flat-out busted mistake of a subclass in D&D 5e. They're capable of pumping huge amounts of (temporary) HP onto a party. It's actually enough that the DM only has two bad choices and one not great one to deal with it. - They can crank up the CR of the encounters to compensate, which basically locks the Cleric and party into needing this busted feature to compensate, and then you run on a tightrope of immediate disaster if anything fails. - They can just accept that combat is Not Hard for the rest of the campaign. - They can ban Twilight Cleric. Also basically the whole subclass's spell list is "deal with DM tricks". You're already a Cleric, you can learn to dispel/remove anything, and things like Faerie Fire and Tiny Hut take away a lot of the NPC's ability to hit you "unfairly".
@@thew00dsman79 to quickly inform you, the biggest thing is being able to create an AoE temp hp boost that grants 1d6 + cleric level every turn to everyone inside or it can remove fear and charm effects. This lasts for 1 minute / 10 turns. They also get advantage on initiative or they can give it to someone else at no cost with no limit beyond 1 person having it at a time. 300 ft of darkvision for themselves or to spread around to allies like cake. They get heavy armor proficiency. They get spells like sleep, see invisibility, greater invisibility, aura of vitality which heals 2d8 passively on one target up to 30 ft out but concentration, and aura of life which will bring an ally to 1 hp when they hit zero if they’re within 30 ft. There’s also circle of power which gives allies advantage on saves against spells as well as negating damage if you’d normally take half by succeeding the save. Because fuck fireball I guess Pair even one of those aura spells with AoE temp hp. They can also fly for 1 minute in dim light or darkness as many times as their proficiency bonus per long rest Their last subclass feature gives them and allies +2 ac while they’re in the temp hp circle. That’s 1d6 + 17 temp hp and +2 ac to every ally inside ✨every round✨ Basically a ton of health handed out and huge buffs at a low cost all while having great ac

So by the time SH has slaughtered her way through all their followers they will be so weakened that this Netherbrain empowered SH who might be close to goddesshood already may be a real threat.
I don't see why she has to go on the murder spree, rejecting Shar and Selunes war makes sense, the conclusion that we need a bloodbath to fix the conflict seems a bit odd.
Yeah, I was expecting more of a “grey Jedi” path. Neither light nor dark, but the pragmatist that walks the edge between. Mass tadpoling and conversion would have been smarter. A killing spree feels very Shar-aligned.
As horrifying as most of these are. I find them hard to take super seriously knowing that for as powerful as the character in them has become. And they *are* extremely powerful… Uh… a lot of entities in the setting can probably smack them down…

That's why it is important to sometimes create sandcastles to be less power hungry and stressful. This ending is twisted; Darthheart looks beautiful, but knowing lore too well... Shadowheart in that ending wouldn't last very long. There are far more powerful forces that exist on the Swordcoast, let alone in Faerûn. Not to mention that it truly would be worse even than her regular "evil ending" as Head of Shar's Church in Baldur's Gate.
She controls an elder brain. Don’t think anyone other than our group could defeat an army that encompasses the entirety of Balder’s gate that can be turned illithed at any moment.

It seems that when you control Netherbrain, you don't technically need to use parasites for control; you could just enthrall them. And well, there are groups that were able to seize and conquer cities that were more heavily defended than Baldur's Gate. Like, it's literally the plot of several novels for particular drow, where heroes retake a particular ancient dwarf city that was defended by an army of drow. Dark elves aren't mindflayers, but they defended a huge underground Moria-like fortress. Not to mention those pesky high-level characters that would interviene when GM needs them. Elminster, Seven Systers, Arcane Society, even those Wizards of Thay. You just need to destroy the brain, and then all of Shadowheart's forces would become uncontrolled and chaotic. And high-level spellcasters could summon literal meteor swarms, and that's just in terms of tabletop rules.
Thing is. Under her control Elder brain. With the Crown of Karsus. And through the brain she controls powers of the Crown. Godlike powers. If you look at the Gale's evil ending. He goes to challenge gods, he literally rips portal into Mystra's domain and enters it, then credits roll. Laezel's ending ends with her storming Vlaakith's throne room, with Vlaakith herself panicking there. So yeah, in the evil ending mc has powers on the level of major gods, while not being immortal themselves. But i think that can be solved with time. This ending is essentially a 12 level adventurer getting such huge power up that it skips all the levels above, beyond level 20 into a godhood territory.
@@Altmer353 well, the thing is, a major part of why characters are getting those powers is external. All you need to do is kill Netherbrain. Which, actually, many can, but obviously it would worry how hard it would be. There are spells purely for damage, like Meteor Swarm (9th level that allow you to hit from a mile four AOE with 40-240 damage per failing saving throw), not to mention the whole "You know, my flying sword-shaped iron fortress can cleave through that brain" to classic Vlaakith's "I Wish Netherbrain to End." And then, it's just a 12-level character with almost no allies, surrounded by illithids and potentially resentful commoners and other people your character enthralled.

Same way if she Wish for mc to die, because as long as brain alive mc has same powers. Game specifically shows to you that Gale and Laezel become very powerful. So much so that Gale just casually invades Mystra's domain and Laezel instills fear into Vlaakith, she just sits on her throne, in the cutscene, panicking. Dont think that mc only gets ability to control Illithids, with Crown Of Karsus mc also gets access to magical power on the level of major gods.

Honestly, all of the evil endings just feel like the player loses the game. I don't get the appeal. Every single one, it's obvious that the Netherbrain controls the player in the end, the player is acting completely differently. Why does everyone seem to think the player is still in control in these scenarios?
Not an ending I will ever experience as I doubt I will ever play origin characters (except durge) but damn, do other origin chars get crazy endings like this?
The outfit is not from a mod,its the Sea's Witch outfit from Act 3. If you side with the Umbrelee witches and kill the dwarf. But you need a mod to use it as a cosmetic

I dont get this ending really. We never mever get much indication from Shadowheart as a character that this is somethint she wanted.

The outfit is not from a mod,its the Sea's Witch outfit from Act 3. If you side with the Umbrelee witches and kill the dwarf. But you need a mod to use it as a cosmetic
Is this one of the new endings? How do you get this? Origin shart + claim the crown maybe?
It's just extension of all origin endings since pre Patch 7. Credits roll after "In my name"

@@CheshireDCat i use the 1st endorsed collection on nexus and am lazy to just go through the nexus mods and see what is working…but i guess ill have to man up and just do it

If you have gone down the full Dark Justiciar path this ending doesn't make any sense narratively speaking. Anyway we didn't get the Karlach DLC to fix her heart, but we got this nonsense. Congratulations Larian, really.
