- Thank you so much for WATCHing my video and I hope that you check out all my other content.
I release 3 videos per week, all watch related, including reviews, first impressions and general watch related topics.
I try very hard to diversify my content. Featuring known watch brands, microbrands, Aliexpress. Some I have purchased new, others second hand.
The majority of the watches that I feature I have purchased. I buy them to enjoy, wear, have in my collection. I then also feature them on this channel.
Being a smaller channel it is challenging to cover the cost of all the watches that I buy and partly because of this I have become an affiliate member with a number of companies including Aliexpress and Ashford.com.
If you are looking for watches from well known brands then it is worth checking out:
www.ashford.com
If you are looking for great strap options then definitely check out:
vario.sg/
and
artemstraps.com/collections/s...
As an affiliate member I may leave affiliate links in the descriptions of videos. These links will direct you to the watches that I’ve experienced, reviewed and would certainly recommend. If you choose to use those links I will earn a very small commission.
Thank you very much if you choose to use those links.
Below are affiliate links for my absolute favourite watches on Aliexpress. Each of them I have owned and had positive experiences with the stores that they are linked to.

A little bit of fun
Five watches I will never buy:
Patek Phillip - can't afford it
Vacherin Constantin - can't afford it
Audemar Pique - can't afford it
A. Lange & Sohne - can't afford it
Invicta Joker - ugly I don't want to be able to afford it
Dude the last one😂😂😂
Hahahahahaha. Love it
Great video, James! I have been collecting watches since 1972 (mostly Seiko as it was all that teenager me could afford), and have now found my way to a smart watch for all the functionality it offers and, as you said, motivating me to get off my butt and out on my bike. I dislike Apple for having to charge it every single night and now wear a Garmin which can last at least two weeks before needing to be plugged in. I still love my watches and wear a different one every day on my left wrist, while my Garmin resides comfortably on my right. Thanks again for the video.
That’s a great way of doing it. I’ve been considering it myself too
I like to wear my Tsar Bomba RM 11 sometimes… I call it the Richard Hundo. And actually, it’s a great quartz chronograph for the money.
The design makes a lot more sense in this price range.
😅 James, that was nuts.....I loved it mate, it is nice to be about to be light hearted when talking about watch collecting cheers 😂
It made me have a laugh so I expanded on the idea to create the video.
I bought an Invicta Pro Diver 9403 just because of the controversy it elicits on UA-cam and it’s turning out to be one of my favorites.
As to Quartz? The Casio Duro MDV106, for its price, truly lives up to its reputation. And if it’s too big for you there is Duro Jr. MTD1053D.
The most expensive watch I own is a real keeper, the Orient Kamasu Chronograph Solar. RN-TX0203S
And finally my beater is the G-Shock 5600.
There you have it. My perfect 4 watch collection; Automatic, Quartz, Quartz Solar & Quartz Digital 👍
A great collection
Great fun, James. Cheers 🍻!
Thanks for WATCHing
Great information James 👍
Thanks for WATCHing
Great job again James! - Nice video mate!
Thank you
Great video. I was laughing out loud through the quartz bit. Well, played, James, well played.
Hahahaha. Me too. Thanks for WATCHing
My first "real" watch was a Seiko 6139-6005 sliver "Pogue" I received form my father when I was 10 years old. It made me love both chronographs and Seikos. I didn't own a real dive watch for 40 more years. Now I find myself discounting additional dive watches because I own enough of them that any more would have limited utility. I've now gone full circle to where a VK63 or VK64 chronograph is a logical future purchase. I also have enough black and white dials, and wish to add more colors.
I have my father’s 6139 too. A Australian version of the Golden dial.
It was the start of my fascination with mechanical watches.
@@WATCHingJames My was sent brand new from a PX, when my father was stationed overseas.
Fun video and agree with the majority of your picks. Have to admit used to have tank style watches e.g. Cartier, on my personal list until I picked up a Seiko in a job lot recently and was pleasantly surprised how it looked on my wrist - never say never. Think that Tudor might be a bit of a sleeper 😉
Hahaha Thanks for WATCHing
I hear ya James. Here are my five. Watches you have to stand in line in NYC to get. Watches that cost more than the GNP of a small island nation. Skeletonized watches you can't find the hands on. Dive watches so big you go staight to the bottom. Any watch with a commercial logo on it, football team, superhero, fashion designer etc. Hi Amy! Thanks James!
Thanks for WATCHing
Sooo funny, made my day Thank you, James 👍
Great to hear. Thanks for WATCHing
LOL I love it! Well done James!
Hahahaha. Thank you
Outstanding James, just loved it, you have a comic gene in you. 😂😂😂
Hahahahaha. Thank you
Hi james very interesting video on your channel you buy mostly more affordable watches and do a lot of reviews .as you get to try a lot of different styles and types of watches at the more affordable end of the watch market. does this hone in your likes and dislikes so when you want to buy a better quality and maybe a lot more expensive watch it gives you an advantage has only a certain amount of expensive watches we can afford to buy in our lifetime. I'm wondering if buy doing this process do you have five watches you'd like to eventually own?(At this moment in time because sometimes you change your mind as you go.) and do have watches that you no are never going to leave your collection?thanks John 👍
I definitely have a few that will never leave. Partly because I live them but also I have some emotional connection to them.
I’m actually close to having all the watches that I would like in a “core” collection.
I will always like others and the core collection will likely evolve as well.
Currently dreaming of the grand Seiko white birch and glashutte original panomaticlunar
Same... Smart watches are evil. Just look at your phone. I love traditional watches for their simple functionality. We are far too connected. That's why I have an addiction to watches.
Thanks for WATCHing
Great vid. Did you get the BB58 at a good price because of the number now up for sale after the hype has died down? lol.
Yes I did. Also was able bought it from another local enthusiast so was comfortable buying it.
You're dead on Point there mate❤
Hahaha thank you
Loved the cameo
Thanks Zak
The smartest watch I have is my Garmin Instinct. I use it for hiking & camping, and I usually wear it on my right wrist (along with a proper watch on my left). The squirrels don’t seem to care that I’m “double-wristing”, and to my knowledge aren’t making fun of me.
Hahahaha I’ve thought of doing that too.
The sad thing is that watch people who do this for a living need to be chasing the news and generating content based off of it. Its different for people who are just enthusiasts.
Thanks for WATCHing
I can relate to the Apple Watch getting one back on track with the mechanical watches. The exact same thing happened for me 😂 I’m a Mac person, and do like the functionality of the smartwatch, both Apple and others. But I think it’s a bit like EV vs combustion engines. I still don’t get why quite a lot of EVs got to have some far out design, when a lot of people want more traditional design 😅
Thanks for WATCHing
There you are folks, it's official smart watches are a gateway drug to a lifetime of financial misery and numerous boxes full of horological horrors😂😂. Great video James, loved it.
It certainly pushed me over the edge. Thanks for WATCHing
I am with you for #1 they are hideous
Thanks for WATCHing
Funny, accurate and agreeable.
Thanks for WATCHing
I totally agree James re so called smart watches. I bought an Apple smart watch years ago, thinking of the advantages of text messages, emails appearing on my wrist. Or that little fitness tracker constantly telling me to breathe!🤢 After a few weeks it was driving me insane…ok more insane! 😵💫 I ditched it too & have never felt mentally better! I found it to be an anxiety inducing piece of crap, um technology I didn’t need. It serves its ideal purpose as a beside clock. I tap my side drawer in the middle of the night & the time lights up!😳
That’s a good use for one.
Ha! Great list. I do disagree with you on Quartz though. As for Smart Watches, IMO, they are not watches, they are great electronic tools. And there’s a place for them, just not on my wrist. You left out counterfeit watches mate. That’s my number one of no buys for me. Thanks again!
Thanks for WATCHing
Very good, when I saw the title, I thought, oh no not again..fakes etc. So I was very impressed 😁 Richard Mille 🤣🤣🤣
Hahahaha. Glad it was a surprise. That was sort of the idea. A bit of fun and not expected.
Opinion on citizen eco drive watches?
I have not owned done but do hear a lot of positivity about them.
I know that I mostly love mechanical watches which is the only reason I have not had one.
Great quality by Citizen. Very very good movement!
Like the comedic take.
Thanks for WATCHing
Great content, but the bookcase arrangement could literally get you sectioned! BUT.....
1. I got a free RM with my job!!!
2. I don't have a hyped watch, as I own a RM.
3. Ali watches aren't proper watches.
4. Smart watches- for people who don't enjoy life. "Seiko 5"- for people who don't know anything about life.
5. The bookcase indicates you would buy the same watch, again and again.
Thanks for WATCHing
I dont know about you but that nod from your wife seems like a nod for approval to buy another watch James haha! I am with you on RM. Dont like them and even if I could afford them I would not buy them. I own a smart watch and i hate it. Then I was told I had the wrong one so I got another one and I hate that one too. 😅Hope you and the wife have a great week!
Thank you. I agree. She must be saying more watches.
@@WATCHingJames That's what I heard haha!
😂Great video mate
Thank you. The idea made me laugh when I was thinking about how to put it together
As more people disconnect from tech you’d be better off owning 10 Seiko 5’s instead of an Apple Watch
Thanks for WATCHing
Great list James, I personally think Rolex is over hyped and over priced for what they are, so that would be a never buy for me, not as expensive as the RM, but still…,all said whilst wearing my new smart watch, oyvay, please forgive me haha
Hahahaha. Thanks mate.
Sounds like we’re all quite similar.
Thanks for WATCHing
LOL, cheers!!!
😁
rolex, seiko, invicta, hublot, watches with stones
Thanks for WATCHing
😂😂😂
Thanks for WATCHing
awful review…
