@Ivan It's a constant battle between the poor people and the wealthy where that line is. It's important to define the line between the top 0.1%, the top 1.0%, and the top 10%. Largely, the anger and attention has been aimed at people in the top 10%. Personally, my income falls in line with the top 3%. Surprisingly, that's a household salary of $200,000. I don't own a business, I give heavily to charity, and I invest in industries that I believe will help our future generations. I am not your enemy. We share a common enemy. The top 0.1% have incomes of roughly 1.5 million dollars per year. Those people are paying for your anger to be directed at us, the normal freaking people who worked hard for our jobs. You do realize that I pay over $1,500 per week in federal taxes alone and I rarely get the benefit of getting it back at the end of the year. Sadly, yes. Those with 0.1%+ level incomes do run very large companies and carry very large sway with that status. The best way to fight them is to start new and better companies and DO NOT sell out when offered. Run them with integrity. Stop taking more and more of my money, though. @@travissharon1536 There are so many examples of socialism not leading to oppression that it's baffling you would make such a general blanket statement. Even discounting social programs that I'm sure any reasonable human being can support - such as the fire department, 911 call centers, and how the government provides energy, drinkable tap water, and programs that support those in need - what about every other modern developed nation? Critics are quick to point at Venezuela because it somewhat affirms their point, but whenever progressives point to countries in western Europe, Scandinavia, members of the anglosphere, the G7, or other wealthy developed nations they go silent.
Was fully expecting this to be a very capital ‘L’ Liberal hot take of “populism bad”, but what I got was a thoughtful and unpretentious marxist critique of Fox News. This is exactly how high-production left wing media companies should be using their platform. Honest about their point of view, but always striving to be genuinely informative. Awesome video!
While it does sound socialist at first, it's now the truth. the wealthy and corporations have lost any and all semblance of Patriotism and trying to make this country better. Take for example Ford who invented the assembly line, that innovation stood to increase his profits exponentially. Instead of just keeping it for himself he realized that he could improve the lives of his workers drastically and set a precedent for workers. He cut down the work week to 40hr & increased wages so that 1 Worker could support a family on a 40hr work week. The Elite and Corporations knew that the industrial age would bring them exponential wealth,. but with that they also took it upon themselves to also improve this country. We live in the most powerful, the wealthies, and most innovative country in history, So the fact that more than 50% of people can't afford a $1000 emergency, that we have to subsidize corporations low wages because it's not enough to live on, and the fact that a 4 yr degree from a STATE college is over 100K is shameful and embarassing. These weren't problems Americanas had in the 90s. It's unacceptable to have them now.
To a certain extent but the ruling class he's referring to ain't the bourgeoisie. Tuckfuck thinks the ruling class is moreso the politicians (particularly Democratic ones), media executives, academics/teachers etc. His ruling class are certain individuals but not a fundamental economic caste. He goes further, stating "we could even tax capital gains like we tax salaries. Mitt Romney might finally pay the same rate as your dentist. And that'd be satisfying." He offers these ideas as solutions as "smarter, less regressive" options to a gas tax hike. In a nutshell, he's against the gas tax hike as he argues it'll hurt the working class American. "He's for the average joe!" you may argue, but no so fast. Let's see him discuss some of the VERY SAME ideas he offered with Caroline Heldman, professor of political science (labeled as "SOCIALIST PROFESSOR" on the banner). ua-cam.com/video/keZu9_Lbne4/v-deo.html It's painful. He laughs at historically validated ideas and hardly lets the poor woman get a full sentence out. He gives no serious opportunity to discuss Ideas and policies that would arguably help the very people he's arguing to supposedly defend (working class Americans). In the first video, they're offered as valid ideas to protect the working class. In the second video, the very same ideas are presented as a comedy with the underlying message being "it's socialism and socialism is bad." There's literally, two completely different messages in these two video from the same man, to essentially protect the status quo... He's a con man.

Secondly, though the personal attacks on tucker are possibly true, since he is a member of the “elite” as well, there are a few things to be said about vox’s points here. They tend to focus quite a bit on the economics. How do vox, and left wing economists address the fact that lower corporate tax rates tend to produce higher rates of growth? What about that high wealth neighborhoods and businesses tend to increase the wealth of surrounding communities? What about the fact that minimum wage laws tend to increase the chance of restaurants and small businesses closing, but tend to not do the same for large corporations? What about the loop of artificially high demand for medical care and college that is shown to increase price? What about the debt that countries like sweden and denmark are plagued with as a result of their healthcare? What about multiculturalism, how does vox think that small town america with strong identities think of that? Does vox seriously believe that people only vote republican because they’re “distracted”? Finally, how does vox claim that the republicans are the elite when the left has claims to hollywood, large corporations, particularly tech ones, and ones that have control over the flow of information, as well as the fact that the democratic party used to be the party of the people, but is now switching towards highly educated, high wealth white collar workers?
@@Hsirbrus Lower tax rates help growth, but that wont help the poor guy if he still lacks affordable health care, good infrastructure, public transport or affordable education. Minimum wage isn't only hurting small business. They too profit from higher productivity and employee retention. The problem is thay minimum wage didnt grow alongside dwith productivity nor average wage since 1968. Those businesses who cant afford to pay minimum wage are just freeloading on the back of the taxpayer who has to then pay for the food, housing and medical services of the guy who doesn't even get paid a living wage. With the high price of college and medicine it's not the question who is to blame for it but more who should shoulder it. It used to be that higher education was seen as a public good supported by the taxpayer. As a high income country that would definitely benefit the states as it cant compete with cheap uneducated labor countries anyway. The states still have a higher debt to GDP ratio than both Sweden or Denmark despite not even offering a real healthcare. It doesn't matter that much though as national debt isn't necessarily a bad thing. I dont care much about the multicultural aspects too to be honest. I think both the Republicans and the Democrats can be pretty elitist. The problem is the hypocritical rambling against them like in the case of Carlson or against the rich elite by some Democrats who dont realize that those can be Democrats too like the tech companies as you said already. The bigger problem in my opinion is the huge generalisations made of the other party. There isnt a majority of dumb right wing rednecks not sensitive lefty snowflakes. The sky itself isnt blue the water vapor in the aair is what gives it that blue color therefore the sky isnt blue. Does that mean that when you look up it doesnt look blue? No. It means that I was so incensed by your assertion that I found a technicality that would "debunk" your point. It's childish and alludes to the state of our nation. Alot of people believe they are just as smart as the next guy and unfortunately genetics proves that wrong. How you feel is up to you.

Can we agree that the sentence “It’s not a left-right thing, it’s a ruling class versus everybody else thing” is the most socialist thing you can say
Doesen't mean it's wrong.
No it's a historical thing. The battle between people who own things and working class people has existed since feudalism.
Plus socialism is fundamentally left-wing, so the struggle to establish socialism really is a "left-right thing".

Let's see him discuss some of the VERY SAME ideas he offered with Caroline Heldman, professor of political science (labeled as "SOCIALIST PROFESSOR" on the banner). ua-cam.com/video/keZu9_Lbne4/v-deo.html
It's painful.
In the second video, the very same ideas are presented as a comedy with the underlying message being "it's socialism and socialism is bad." @@Muzikrazy213 normally their political videos are very left leaning and biased. They don't paint the full picture and can be just as bad as fox is in terms of representing the "facts". However, this video was a total smoking gun and was very interesting.
@@Augman isn't it a bit hypocritical in this age to pretend one can be neutral? don't you think? we are all biased. but the most important thing is we need to communicate more to round up our bias.
@@Augman I am only fine with socialism on the right and never the left.
Just going to say that it wasn't a smoking gun since Carlson states he is an elite commonly on his show. The entire point to his show, as vox got pretty much on the money, is railing against the elites. The thing that actually is different than most other broadcasts on fox is that he is honest about where he sits on the social ladder.
It's the idea of one knowing their peer group, and how their peer group thinks better than those outside that peer group. You can agree or disagree with the said premise, but it is consistent in Tucker's work and there is no hypocrisy to be found in it. Also, the racist tree comparison had a different run time due to multiple reasons, and one was that he had a stand in one night that also covered it.
I mean you can't make this up. Even Tucker himself says it hahaha

Firstly, that there are plenty of right wingers here on a left wing show but not often the reverse is sorta demonstrative of the willingness of each side to approach the other no?
The two party system is in that case just a poor reflection of 350 million people and simply undemocratic.
They come here to dislike AANDD bots of course, never trust internet numbers like twitter polls and dislike ratios specially on videos recently released because it can be easily altered to be in favor with someone or something
